    I love your Channel. Have you ever thought about buying a cart like janitors have it would probably save you a lot of time of walking back and forth outside and inside. And have you ever thought about buying more water bottles? You would also be able to wash the old ones in a dishwasher. Then you have the new ones ready to go. Drop a new one.

      @Second hand Choppers, all very good ideas. I have a small janitor style cart in the aviary but barely use it idk why i go cage by cage like that instead of pulling all out at once i guess just habit but would be kinda easier to just pull all the trays out at once clean and replace.
      For the water im in the process of doing that buying more tubes as spares to swap out and make it much easier. I figure the less time I have to spend cleaning the more i can enjoy the birds.

    Hi, people in europe use a lot of chipped wood, it is absorbent but has little dust if any..... not shavings just chipped wood and it is great as you can clear easily.

    • @paradiseaviary
      @paradiseaviary  Před 3 lety

      I've heard of those and seen some pictures online they look very good! But im going to switch up my system once i move all the birds to the new aviary. The cages won't have trays they will have a roll of paper that runs under them from one side to the other for easy cleaning

    Awesome set up.. I only have one question I noticed you did not wash the bottom parts of the cage .. You just scraped ans put new paper in.. That can not be healthy for the birds or you

    • @paradiseaviary
      @paradiseaviary  Před 3 lety

      Thank you Jill, I do two types of cleanings in the aviary one like the one I showed in this video, pretty much a fast style cleaning this is done on a weekly basis and another deeper more extensive cleaning once a month during this one all the trays are sprayed with clorox and pressure washed.

    • @paradiseaviary
      @paradiseaviary  Před 2 lety

      Not really sure sorry. Im assuming grow lamps give off good amount of heat if so becareful how close you put it to the cage

  • @breedingaviandinosaurs2728

    Unfortunately, if you have a lot of birds then there is also a lot of cleaning to do... hopefully you will still have time for that when your daughter is born... but as a father of 2 children I can tell you that you have less time for that kind of things. Fortunately, because spending time with the kids is more fun than cleaning cages.
    I used to use wire cages as well, but I got rid of that and switched back to box cages with a wire front. The birds are calmer in those cages and only dust and food falls from the front of the cages and not from all sides.
    External bird baths are also commercially available. This keeps the paper on the bothom slightly drier.
    One last tip: clean a few cages every day and not everything at once in one day, then it doesn't seem like much work.
    I hope you can streamline your cleaning routine a little better so that you have more time for more fun things!

    • @paradiseaviary
      @paradiseaviary  Před 3 lety +1

      I feel like ill be spreading myself thin but man i hope i still have time for the birds. 100 % my main focus will be my daughter. If at any point i feel like i just can't keep up then ill have to down size for sure. Like you said its all about efficiency and thats the main focus I'm putting on the new outdoor aviary I'm building so things are easier to clean and will take less of my time so i can enjoy the hooby. Ive thought about building my own cages/box like the ones you mentioned because like you said birds feels safer and room is kept cleaner specially the back walls... the birds love to poop as they fly so the back wall is always dirty and has to be cleaned, but its not easy to find cage fronts here and when you compare price of wood and time you have to invest to build them just too much for me and decided to go all wire cages.

      @@paradiseaviary I fully understand you and I think a lot of bird keepers recognize themselves in the cleaning problem and the amount of time it takes. I made a video myself about my homemade box cages, it's not of the same quality as your videos but you might get some inspiration from it.

      I look forward to your new outdoor aviary! Hopefully the construction will go well so that you can start on the baby room soon because the mother-to-be may have already asked for that haha lol.

    • @paradiseaviary
      @paradiseaviary  Před 3 lety

      Yes they get all the same foods the outdoor aviary birds get. The only thing I dont give these is live food like crickets, termites, or fruit flies because they are indoors and the wife would kill me if these bugs get loose 😂😂

    • @paradiseaviary
      @paradiseaviary  Před 2 lety

      Thats a great question ! yes I still leave once sometimes twice a year. I just have to plan it so i don't leave in the breeding season since thats the most hectic time of the year and the birds require a lot more from me. I have someone that takes care of them while im gone

    Whats name macine for clean seed sir?

  • @saggitarius100
    @saggitarius100 Před 3 lety +1

    i got more birds than u. i change water everyday, food every 2 days
    takes some time but 1 week with same water? o.o jesus!
    u can make it way more easier to clean if u hang the cages and put paper on all under. u pull 1 paper clean like 10 cages like i do

    • @paradiseaviary
      @paradiseaviary  Před 3 lety +1

      You misunderstood the water part. There's no way the birds will drink same water from the tubes for one whole week. What I said was once a week i pull the water tubes out and SPRAY them down or place them in a container with clorox to disinfect, but birds get fresh water on a daily or max every other day. As far as the paper under the cages its funny you mention that because for the new aviary I'm building thats the plan. I had a part in this video where i talked about that but decided to pull it out to make it a bit shorter and would eventually show it in a later video. Its definitely the way to go when you have this amount of cages.
