They can't. The German Army now is composed of light infantry, according to the Prussian military doctrine light infantry are forbidden to perform the goosestep as back then it was reserved for line infantry. But you can still find some videos of the Navy doing the goose step but not much because they haven't hosted a proper military parade/display since reunification.
You could visit South America, especially in Chile. They preserved German marches as well as Prussian tradition. The difference is they march slower and their kicks are higher than the prescribed in the 1906 prussian manual of arms, which limits to kicking below the knee to reduce stress on the infantry in parade.
Ah the Wehrma..err Bundeswehr, goose stepping their way into Europe’s collective nightmares. It’s amazing to think that in 1989, the US, USSR, UK, and France had a serious conversation about whether to intervene to prevent German unification.
@@reasonablyserious true enough, was also payback for the rampant nazi genocides, as well as polish compensation for the expansion of the Ukrainian, Belorussian and Lithuanian SSR’s. Also fixed the Polish sea access problem. Sucked for the German inhabitants though.
@Lachlan Bally Where are they goose stepping in this video ? They are not even wearing their original uniforms but some American uniform. German military traditions are dead since 1990.
@@KillerofWestoids Don't even try to argue with people that compare the Bundeswehr to the Wehrmacht. Those people still belief that Germans still live under nazi rule and that Germany should still suffer for what their ancestors did 100 years ago.
@@KillerofWestoids The Bundeswehr's Dienstanzug of the Heer is derived from several Wehrmacht uniform designs, American uniforms being used by the Bundeswehr is a myth perpetuated by Wehraboos and amateur historians. The Wachbataillon beim Bundesministerium der Verteidigung does all of its drills according to original copies of the Prussian formal drill instructional books that it keeps in its archival collection. The East German NVA heavily modified its German drill and implemented Soviet drills in their place.
Si ejercito aleman tuviese su anterior uniforme, se veria mas imponente. Es una pena que lo prohibieran a causa de la guerra. PD les traeria malos recuerdos a los judios.
All they are missing is the goose stepping.
oh the good old NVA they could do that. but the better ones are the chilean army, trained back in the good old days by captain Emil Körner!!
yes indeed!!, but no one but the old NVA could do that! it was offocially frowned upon

Leider passte der Schritt der Ehrenformation nicht zum Rhytmus der Musik...
Немецкие военные давно уже не те. Только в ГДР была нормальная строевая выучка.

The same reason the eastern most parts of Germany have been given to Poland and Russia.
