I watched a video about one of the 365 macro magazines rusting and I thought they were doing it for views because I never had that issue. Within that week, I happen to go through my magazines in my safe and sure enough one of them was totally rusted on the wear points of the magazine. Sig replaced it, and it kind of worked out for me because it was a 15 round magazine and they sent me at 17 round because they don’t make the 15 rounds anymore. I made sure to go ahead and do a wipe down with Ezzox which is an amazing rust preventative for fire arms.
Thank you for sharing this
Magazines are carbon steel they rust.
Sig absolutely has to fix this rust issue that so many customers are experiencing across the board especially when these guns cost in the range that they do.
Awseme video! I also carry the x-macro , and I first purchased it when it first came out , and that’s been about 3 years ago and I’ve got about 2500 rounds thru mines , and not one hiccup, I’ve never had a rust issue, but when I first heard about it , I did some research and I purchased a can of CRC JIFFY LUBE , in my cleaning rotation and just Spray on rag and wipe down with oil and mags and no problems , appreciate the content keep it up !
Thank you for the awesome comment. I will say I did a complete break down on my wife’s gun and her x macro is not rusting. So it may not be everyone but she hasn’t had hers as long as I have had mine so I’ll be constantly checking it.
@@Gunsfornewbieshave you considered sending it out and having a coating applied?
what all do you wipe down with the Jiffy Lube? I just recently got one and id like to prevent it rusting
Yes sirr whenever you clean the x-macro on the outside just spray a rag with some and wipe it down. It also keeps the carbon build up on the comp slide 😊
Just subbed. Great review
Thank you!!

This is becoming one of my favorite channel's 👍
keep going bro, very good video, you can start something big with this channel, earned another sub
Thank you!!
I put the Macro slide on my XL gray guns grip with the gold barrel and gold FCU.
If there are rust/corrosion issues with p365 sigs, there needs to be a recall or class action lawsuit.
I have the P365 spectre comp and the CZ p-01 Omega, both solid guns. I just got the Icarus precision grip module. I’m hoping it will make the p365 even better.
I have heard great things about the Icarus grip module I’m sure you’ll like it.
I have the full upgrade with the frame and comp, not worth it. The best gun is just the base 365X or XL.
@@sv2697 You are probably right in retrospect, but at the time when they released the spectre comp the hype and the gold swayed me.
I have the same set up. I haven't started carrying it yet because I dont have 1K rounds through it. In fact, I dont have 50 rounds through it. After this weekend I will have 600... Thanks for sharing. Already sub'd
Thank you!
Thank you for the insight! I wanted a X Marco for the capacity and slimness. But every time, sth is stopping me pulling the trigger. Frame flexing, rusting, just low build quality and lack of solution and support from Sig.
The trigger, sights, rear cover are carbon steel and carbon steel rusts. The rest is stainless and wont.
Well I got the tacops. Slightly longer barrel and it shoots really well. Love it. I shoot it better than my glock 19. Also have a light on it that helps even more.
Debating between an sig p365 xmacro and Springfield Hellcat Pro. Haven’t heard of any rust issues with the Hellcat. This makes me lean more in that direction.
I’m 2 for 2 rust issues it appears to be the barrel that has defects. I had a hellcat the original with the prp trigger and it was an amazing trigger kit and I never had a malfunction. The sig has less recoil which I like and has never malfunctioned either. Sig also never malfunctioned. If you live in a high precipitation area I would go hellcat personally. They also have porting available for the hellcat to make them apple to apple comparisons.
Sollutions: Remington Dry-Lube has Teflon, dries to the touch in seconds. I've been using on mags for 40 years. I take them apart when new and coat inside and out, and on mags springs. They slide in/out, drop free, the Teflon coats into the metal to protect and slick em up.
If you're concerned about the Sig nitro finish, clean and dry the slide, FCU, etc and coat them. Ive had a macro, daily carried (every waking hour) for over 6 months. No rust on anything ever.
However, even tho I live in SE TX with hot summers and extreme humidity, I always wear a moisture wicking undershirt. Even under a t-shirt. My favorite are the "Punisher" brand but cotton works too. It makes carry more comfy, keeps sweat off my gun, extra mag. And I clip a POM OC under front center of collar for easy access. Do these and you'll never have rust issues on anything you EDC.
It’s not a lubricant issue my wife has same gun and no rust in hers. It’s this specific one and she ccs hers everyday as to mine being in a dry storage safe. She takes hers everywhere.
@@Gunsfornewbies my wifes chemistry is more acidic as well. She has stainless watch bezels rust. Try the Rem DryLube before applying your normal lube to the gun/mags. I think it will permanently solve the issue. Pop on a reply in 6 mos or a year and let me know.
I do like the x macro - but prefer the cr920P. I can shoot very fast with the 920p, and with great accuracy. Thanks for the video.
I will have to look into that! Cr920p, thank you for the comment.
Seriously considering switching. It sucks cuz i put alot into making the Xmacro my main carry firearm. Mine hasn't started rusting but I'm super paranoid about it and honestly will stop carrying it if it does. I have an Mr920 but its just a little bit larger than is comfortable for me. Main thing keeping me from going all in is I can't find the cr920p in my area.
@@osyrisking5437 it’s super weird but at this point there’s too many cases of this thing rusting out. As long as the shadow systems goes through a good break in Period I would switch. That’s coming from a sig guy I have 4 currently.
guess I will see how mine turns out. I've had mine for about 6 months now and been great for me so far. All the rust reports have me paranoid when I see them but all I can do is keep doing what I normally do and just hope nothing more I can do for now. great video
Just re oil it regularly. It’s not that much to where, if you maintain it you will have no issues. But for like a stowaway Gun I wouldn’t recommend. Really disappointed since I’m a big sit guy, all together I have 5.
@@Gunsfornewbies mine is carried a few times a week or just inside a drawer but big but it's shot every week and re oiled every week after the range trip. I swap my carry guns due to me working in a kitchen and allowed to carry and it's very hot and sweaty. So my longer shifts I carry my very old Glock 19 gen 3 and my shorter days my xmacro which has a wilson combat xl frame
@@Gunsfornewbies I would also like to mention this is my first sig and wanted to send this one through its ropes before maybe jumping down the deeper rabbit hole of sigs my glock 19 I have had since I was young as a present from my dad and I'm 28 now with nothing changed on it and trust that gun so much with my life for how long I've had it and the beatings it's taken with zero issues at all so far over a decade old
@@jeremylewis6791 all my Glock’s have been flawless as well. I have had 2 Glock 45s, 2 g19s, a g22, a g23, my 19x I did a video on, and two 43xs. Great brand.
@@Gunsfornewbies the next lot of guns will probably be a 43x and a shadow systems down the road
Rust issues, what part of the country do you live? I live in Portland, Oregon and I on both a P365 X and P365 XL witch, I recently converted to a P365 TACOPS. And yes, the X Macro grip module makes a big difference due to the higher beavertail in the grip. Having a higher grip, your support hand is more aligned closer to the barrels axis thus, reducing recoil significantly! Why doesn’t Sig implement this feature on all their models? PS I’ve bought mine less then year ago and now I’m worried of what’s to come regarding the rest issues… and thanks for the update regarding the slide issue with the FCU. My P365X model exhibits the same problem, and I will implement the fix soon on both of my Sig’s!
Had mines since the launch of the macro no rust now I did strip the coating off mines made my own battleworn look to it. 🤷🏾♂️ it’s a tool don’t bother me really but I understand how it would to those who see it as a fashion piece
I own the p226 it rust because it didn’t have the k coating by sig. my agency sent them back for the k coating protection. It no longer rust. It appears some parts most likely not made by sig is rusting .
Sig feels way better than any shield made
I clean/maintain my guns 2-3 times a week. It's a discipline and something I do to clear my head. None of my firearms, even those years old, have one spot of corrosion or rust. They look the same as the day I bought them.
Yeah…. Sig actually warrantied two of these for me it was a manufacturing issue.
Great review! Been considering the macro but this isn’t the first quality issue I’ve seen come up with it. I have a 43x now for my daily carry but looking to change it out possibly and the sig was on the shortlist. Not sure how I feel about putting my trust into this right now for a carry gun.
I had a 43x with about 6500-7000 rounds and no malfunctions. I wish it held 15 from the factory. I had the shield arms mags but they were no where near as reliable as oem.
A oem Glock I would 115% trust my life with
@@Gunsfornewbies same on the shield arms mags, I just didn’t like the malfunctions that occurred a tad bit more often than I felt comfortable with. One of the reasons I’m considering the macro. So far my glocks are still my carry and home defense pistols that I trust fully and never a hiccup from them in thousands of rounds (oem everything but sights and optic), but for pure fun boy do I enjoy shooting my other guns more lol
@@fartnutssupreme4930 the sig has been 100% reliable but I haven’t even had it super long so this is a issue that will only get worse. I plan to send it off and document what sigs response is.
There are definitely other guns that are fun. Shadow systems has a compensated conceal carry but I don’t have the confidence in the brand from everything I have seen and my buddies experience same feeding issues.
@@Gunsfornewbies yeah I get it and that’s the thing…to see those small quality issues from what I consider to be a relatively small amount of rounds doesn’t inspire confidence. I still want the macro I think just not sure how I feel about making it a defense pistol just yet. And yeah same with shadow systems…neat looking guns I’ve had experiences with malfunctions within 100 rounds of shooting a buddies one and even he got rid of his.
Come to think of it, i hear about malfunctions with shadow systems more than other brand I can think of. Plus I can modify a Glock with better parts for as much or cheaper if I wanted to. Anyway great review will look forward to the update!
If you use ballistol on your guns it will prevent rust
The rust thing is wild. Wonder why the XL and regular 365 don’t have as many reports of corrosion? Either way I’ll probably not get an Xmacro for a while till the problems recede. Good review.
I have no clue. It’s crazy too because the fcu is getting rust…. Such a head scratcher. I wonder if it’s the new trigger shoe that’s promoting the rust and it’s spreading from that. I’m going to torture test my m18 by letting it sit in a damp environment and seeing if picks up rust and do a video on that. I’m confident it will do fine. X macro is definitely on the radar for needing to be sent back to SIG
@@Gunsfornewbies Yeah, my bro’s Xcompact runs rain or shine in different weather never seen rust. SiG probably missed something in their QC on the Macro, more than a few reviewers have said it’s a problem
My Ruger LCP Max has developed a little rust where it comes into contact with bare skin on my waistline. I have read online that it is related to their melonite coating. I wonder if the XMacro is similar
@@WN_Byers that I can believe considering it has to be a finish related issue, weird it uses the same fcu as the p365 but those don’t rust. The x macro is a weird one for sure.
We clean and lubricant our guns.
See I carried the shield plus for over a year. Great great conceal carry but when I picked up the macro I felt a lot less recoil
I have this gun and love it so far. I've put 300 rounds through it with no issues. I own a cheap sw sdve. It has lots of slop but shoots reliably. Who knows with these things
Yeah the old sdves are known to have some oddities. I have had 2 m&p shield plus and both have been extremely good fitment but the first one had lots of malfunctions. Second one has had nothing wrong.
The p365 series is amazing. Only people talking bad about it are haters trying to make themselves feel better about the 🗑️ they have. I love my glocks but facts are facts these sigs are flat out amazing.
I wonder if the x macro models with the manual safety will take that movement/play out of the gun. You can install a manual safety to any p365 so I imagine that might have something to do with the trigger assembly moving in the frame.
I don’t believe so. The manual safety on the m18 is inside the fcu maybe if it’s super tight on the module cut maybe. But that’s a big stretch.
I have no rust either but I keep it clean.
I had this corrosion issue with aftermarket Glock slides. I recommend G96. Never had that issue again. G96 lube and TW25B grease.
Hmmmmm okay I’ll definitely look into this!! Thank you for the comment
I like how you stippled the grip all the way up to trigger guard. I have the 365 Tacops and want to have my grip stippled like you have yours.
I did it myself!! I bought this stipple tip off Amazon!

@@Gunsfornewbies - Thanks. I do not trust myself to try that. I will have professional do it for me.
@@Asidebar a really good company I like is srbcustoms! The finger pad is very thin on the x macro so it can be tricky.
@@Gunsfornewbies I have someone that does professional stippling that will do it for me.
Please make a video with the xmacro at the gun range.
Okay I can do that sometime. I can compare it to the shield. I don’t have it right now because my wife’s gun is rusting now so I sent that one off and she has mine I just got fixed by sig
It’s not just plastic. It’s Stronger than plastic. You have a 2 year warranty on it so send it back.
I have been holding off on buying this gun bc of the rust issue. Been hoping sig will put a new coating. Curious when you bought this one?
It’s odd because me and my wife got them about 10 months ago Hers has no rust and mine does… she CC hers everyday and mines a safe queen at this point which just doesn’t make any sense.
@@Gunsfornewbies Sig has more than one supplier for FCU bodies & mags, and I suspect at least one supplier may be the source of the rust prone metals.
I have a p365x over 1000 rounds not one issue but Sig seems like they screwed up with the xmacro and there not telling or doing anything about it, i really wanted this firearm but I'll wait
I havent experienced Sig customer service before but Ive seen videos of people who had nothing but good to say about them. Especially with the rust issues. The guy sent his gun in and they put new parts in and were super helpful and nice. Is it good that they have rust issues? No its not a good luck but at least their customer service is great and they are quick with their service
I got the bass X macro so no comp absolutely love the gun it is not as easy to EDC as I was told and thought so it was my first gun so I'm buying the XL that should be a little easier I got 1300 rounds through my macro and I have to send it back to Sig because the front sight moves to the right so I'm hoping when I get to xl I will send the macro back and I'm hoping the xl be a lot better EDC
They have some mixed issue but are very reliable. My x macro i pit over 6500 rounds through so far and no issues other than the coating with is just a random issue my wife’s has no problems about 5500 through hers.
@Gunsfornewbies I absolutely love mine I thought it was going to be a better EDC Carrie but like I said I got the xl and my sight front sight on the macro is loose it moves to the right every other magazine first gun I ever had of course I'd have issues LOL
Sheild plus is softer but hows the fps reduction from the ports vs the comp with a same size barrel?
He should try the 4” shield plus performance center. Game
Changer!
I may be wrong, but I'm thinking maybe the grip module is is warping after so many rounds. When did you first notice it? Maybe it was a bad grip module from the start, does it do the same thing with the "XL" module?
It is exactly that, they gave me a new one and issue is gone it’s not the retaining pin
You don’t need it. If it’s for concealed carry a p375 is perfect. It comes with a finger extension on one mag. So go buy a couple 12 round mags with the finger extension. Pocket the 10-1 or use it for extra concealment and use your pocket for the 12 round mags
Pretty sure I am going to go with the TACOPS model and then send it to Moonsoon Tactical for their Lucky 7s porting. (It performs a lot better than the Comp does)
I have seen that! I think that is going to be a solid there’s a lot of skepticism about porting in the middle of the barrel loses rifling but I don’t think so. The ports I have on my staccato are bigger than lucky 7 and that gun is ridiculously accurate 75-100 ft.
I carry the mr920. Love it but I put the x macro in my hand not long ago and its love, but i cant put 800-900 bucks to a gun with rust issues thats like the simplest fix def some quality control fuck ups there also that bih get hot af! Like way hotter than my p365x idk why but i shot it and after 200 rounds i mean it was HOT!. I think ill wait until sig get it all the way right then ill deff buy it. But good vid man !
Looking at picking this up tomorrow to train with and cc is it easy to conceal? I haven’t shot it yet but when I held it at my lgs it was like a glove but is there a lot of rust problems? Would you still recommend picking this up?
Easy to conceal with a good holster! Lightweight so comfortable to carry for long periods.
Rust issues did expand but sig took care of it I just made a video on it.
Shoots better than the Glock 43x by far and capacity is great.
I have mixed feelings on it but to be honest it has never had a malfunction with all variety’s of ammo and hollow points.
@@Gunsfornewbies thank you for the reply!
The silica gel packets can only absorb so much moisture. Do you have the rechargeable ones?
It’s in an actual sealed gun case there’s no moisture in there.
Sig has had too many recent issues with the drop firing and the rusty Macros. I don't even think about them anymore.
I’ve actually followed the “self firing” cases and I believe all of them have been overturned I like my p320s. This rust issue has been too much of a nuisance for me.
@@Gunsfornewbies It's still not a good look. Sig used to be synonymous with quality firearms, I don't trust them as far as I can throw them anymore. Too many different issues too recently. Their quality has gone to shit and I've never heard anything good about their customer service.
I know I'm not changing anyone elses mind, but mine is made up. I'll pass on Sig until they're back on their A game.
My macro is comped at the barrel, works at least 30% better. Get an xl rear grip pad, and it’s flat as heck.
I’ve noticed whenever the barrel has an opening before the end it forces more gas out that way. Comps aren’t my favorite after really diving into learning about them they don’t do as much and require more monitoring and maintenance.
At one point I want to try that arc slide and barrel ported kit
Not getting a sig Sauer gun any time soon.
This is very disappointing about Sig.. especially since I just got one. A little pricey to be rusting or having any problems period.
And I look at getting the Shield,
but since they are very close in size the 17rds got me.
Sig SAUER screwed up big time on this in regards to corrosion preotection
Hi, have you replaced the recoil spring?
Thanks
I have not!
Nice video. I just don't think the P365 series as a whole is built for heavy use. I've noticed similar concerns as yours. Modularity sounds good until everything gets loose and worn in too much.
I’ve know they are super reliable and they last a super long time. But it seems the quality control is out of hand… the rust is just a huge let down but reliability has been great. There’s study by ranges they last 30-50k rounds no issues. I’m sure by that time they are just sloppy.
Also what sucks is my m18 has more rounds though it and I’ve experienced none of this with it!! Such a terrible thing it’s a trend with the p365.
Sig's modularity is proven to be very durable across millions of p320s & p365s- the claim of "loose/worn out" is false.
@@bikeracerdude actually our military's p320 are having fire control module problems and are having to be replaced after only 4k rounds the modules are breaking and the grips are wearing out to slop many of us gun specialist that take care of these guns are seeing this so actual facts these guns get fired alot but only holding up mostly to 4k rounds before we have to contact sig for them to send replacement parts the berettas we had to replace spring and some pins alot and some specs guns p226 and issued glock never have to work on those other than recoil spring replacement after so many rounds the 365 and p320 barrels are amazing other than that the gun is sub par to many issues with firing units rusting in any climate
I’ll join the 365 journey
Too much lube will also cause rust, that’s why I use grease.
That says your hands are not being properly washed my guy. Warranties require you to send it to them. They’re not stopping by to fix your gun. How many times did you tamper with the gun? You don’t want to send it back because you messed with it.
Same principle as a muzzle brake.
Does anybody on here have a recommendation for a reliable and high capacity EDC GUN?
It’s a LOT slimmer than a 19.
Dude sorry but I couldn’t make it to the end, good luck
If the gun is under warranty why wouldn’t you send the entire gun back? Did you put aftermarket parts in it? It’s useless to you with missing parts.
The “corrosion” is probably from how to store it and lack of cleaning/lubing. It’s good to have a dehumidifier as well to take the moisture out of the air!
Your theory works in general but not in this scenario. it’s in the safe along with several other guns none of the other guns have this issue.
100%
@Gunsfornewbies sig uses high carbon steel, it cost more than the lower carbon chinese made roll pins and mim parts. High carbon steel rusts easier than cheaper quality steels. You should see how often I have to care for some of my shotguns and some of them are 15k plus pricetags.
You need too clean it after 200 rounds. You need to buy those moisture crystals too help with the humidity. Even stainless steel will rust depending how you maintain it.
The crystals in your safe works great. As a cop you are mandated to clean your gun after every day at the range.
It actually could be the oil you use far as rust. Try another grip module & see if that helps stop the movement.
You have to open your safe from time to time to let that old dude old air out of it.
gimme a 5 inch barrel macro no comp
For self defence carry the usual distance you will not have to aim and if you can handle adrenaline and Miss at 10 Yards Don't Carry .
This is absolutely terrible advice. I spend tons of time at the range and even during conceal carry classes. They have that for out state we need to shoot 10 at 10 yard 10 at 7 yards and 10 at 5 yards. Most new combers do not hit all 10. If you’re not aiming and shooting a gun you run the risk of hitting someone else. Every bullet that leaves your gun you are responsible for.
@@Gunsfornewbies If you can't hit a Man at 7 yds .You should Quit .No crap you have never been in real SHitt.
This is so disappointing. I actually carry the Macro . I don’t have any rust but dammit I don’t like this .. I am building a Glock 45 which I will be switching as my edc . Damn sig
My g19x isn’t much different to carry, recoil is better, accuracy is better as well. I would suggest the m18 but it takes a while to get used to with the higher bore axis you’ll like the Glock better and you’ll be quicker with it.
@@Gunsfornewbies thanks man! I like you info keeper coming brotha 🤙🏽
Sig SUAER is the worst customer service when it comes to guns, they watch their hands real quick.
Tac ops!
Clean it and use Lucas oil. Stop using crappy oil products. It’s not the same material. The barrel is steal the frame plastic polymer . The gun will last for years. I’ve owned a p226 for 30 years. At the beginning it rust because it didn’t have the k coating on it. My department sent all of them back to sig and it’s no-longer rusting . The mags wasn’t treated and it will rust so clean and oil them. Sig is what’s called a wet firearm. So use a top rated lubricant pall over your gun. Use Gun Scrubber after you clean it. It will get into the stops you can’t reach. Do it in a plastic bucket 🪣 . You will see all that old crud out of it. Make sure you lube it up and wipe the gun down. Metal has pores. It will absorb that oil.
So what expressing is those that don’t agree with you don’t comment
Why is my handgun rusting?
Microscopic particles, dust, salt, and water vapor can accumulate on the metal surface of your gun. If you're not cleaning your guns regularly, you're leaving them vulnerable to rust. The chemical reaction of firing your weapon attracts a lot of environmental debris into your gun.
So basically if someone doesn't agree with you it's a goofy comment lol
Stop making excuses. I hate when CZcamsrs do that.
🫡
U said no comments that say this and that then u say that is equivalent to a m18 lmao that may be the dumbest statement i have ever heard the m18 is substantially bigger wow
It is 3 tenths of an inch shorter… LOL
Hard to shoot? What zero gravity no muscle baby hand planet are you on? My wife who has never shot a gun picked this thing up today and shpt 34 rounds all in the black from 8 yards. Sometimes I think the youtibe gun community makes stuff up just to hear their own voice.
Wow 3 minutes of mumble jumble , just review the gun already
