Rest in Peace Mr. Gambon… you made the track what it was and though it and you are gone the memories will never leave us.
Rest in peace
He should be buried in gambon corner rip
Just seen news and came here to watch again 😢. Legend!! RIP🙏
Rest in Peace 🙏
As soon as I knew of his passing I thought of this moment. RIP
“Don’t pity the dead harry, pity the living and above all, those who live without love”- rip Sir Michael Gambon.
"To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure" - Albus Dumbledore 1930-2023
May he rest in peace
I pity people who come here of all fucking places to quote a very stupid movie pretending they give a shit about a man's death.
it's raining today 😔
🪄🪄🪄
It took me 6 years to realize this is Dumbledore.
Wut?
+HazardousFromage I SAID IT TOOK ME 6 YEARS TO REALIZE THAT MICHAEL GAMBON IS DUMBLEDORE
Wuuuuuuuuuut?
He isn't
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Gambon
He is.
This is so old! You can count the audience!
Now they have a proper mob :D
john bobcus Yes but its still called Gambons Corner..Legend!
BlogBitch yes
and straight away i see a problem with the description he was named after the last corner not the second to last
Matthew Eldridge so what ? They never have a big audience. This show was incredibly popular.
5:23 Dumbledore took the last turn calmly
I hate it when other forms of media are such poor representations of books
UNDERRATED COMMENT 😂
Beautiful hahahaha
i understood that reference
Rest In Peace Michael Gambon, they named a whole corner after him on the track, plus he was also apparently a very nice person and down to earth
Sir Michael Gambon thinks he is boring. In reality, he is very funny, eccentric and extremely interesting dude!

An interesting person thinks he is boring because he knows how many more interesting things there are, while a boring person thinks he is interesting because he knows so little about the world.
Michael's voice is british version of morgan freeman
I'd say the British equivalent of Morgan Freeman's voice is David Attenborough's voice.
This is so accurate!
...except for the fact that he's Irish
Ebolarnator No. Attenborough’s voice is not clear or amazing. It’s just calm
@@nolans11 He lived in London since he was 6, he has dual Irish and British citizenship
RIP Michael Gambon, great actor and great guy on Top Gear. Fly high Mike!
"HARRY! DID YA ROLL THE CAH 'ROUND DAH SECOND TO LAST CORNAH?", he asked calmly.

Legend.
Lmao
Who's harry?? There's no one on this show called harry wtf
Lmfao
James May is exactly like Michael Gambon was about 20 years ago. They like to fiddle around with things, building things in a shed. They have the same sort of dry humour, really funny and interesting takes on some subjects. They even scratch their head the same way.
Man, looking at him reminds me a lot of modern day James May.
+LyricalMajesty Modern-day Captain Slow?
It's the hair...
The hair, the engineering stuff, he flies, and he owns a mid-engined Ferrari.
Massive compliment to James May there.
may's final form
6:07 "Brilliant innit" - Michael Gambon the legend
Yup
"Said Dumbledore calmly"
I like the thumbs up :)
Now *that* is a piece of Top Gear history.
It was actually quite a small hiccup. After all these years hearing about it, I expected the car to do a double backflip on that corner.
Nice to see Sir Gambon laughing and smiling. He's so serious in all the things I've seen him in.
I suppose it's not as bad as Lionel Richie losing a wheel!
Rest in Peace Sir Michael Gambon. A true gentleman and a great prankster.
Dat Gryffindor tie.
Dumbledore's got style
Lukara you might not like it
Naturally
RIP to this absolute legend. One of the greatest moments on Top Gear
RIP Sir Michael Gambon thank you for all the years of entertainment you provided to us all
We're all here for the same reason... we'll always remember him for that. Thank you Sir!
So thats why they called that corner gambon
To be honest Tom Cruises two-wheeler was more extreme than that, the way it was off the ground, but gambons was more graceful sort of leap and more controlled
Smoofie92
Levi Partridge
Why not both?
Tom Cruise's. Not "Cruises". That's not even a name l, just a word.
He did it twice tbh (gambon)
Three times. First a hop and lean. When he returned to the show on the practice did a spin out, and finally an off road on the timed lap all near the same corner.
I was thinking the same just now when watching it. Tom had it way higher in the air and for longer while going faster. I guess its a bit too late to suggest they change the name now though lol.
The final turn is called "Gambon." The video clearly shows Gambon going up on two wheels in the last turn just before crossing the finish line. And Clarkson even refers to the turn as "your corner" during Gambon's second appearance on the show. For the record, the second to last turn is frequently called "The Second to Last Corner."
That little hint of french-that-isnt, for the faux legitimacy of the most famous amateur racetrack of all time.
It fit very nicely.
Also worth noting, for any who are curious, that the part where the driver goes past the tyres is often referred to as 'the tyres'
RIP to the best TV show ever
very true
Richard Forster The Grand Tour on Amazon is a good substitute, it's a bit hit or miss but the good episodes are on par with the best of Top Gear.
Yep the moment Jeremy James and Richard left that was it top gear is done. There is no substitution for these three and the stig of course
Grand tour just ended sadly
Literally knew about the news a few minutes ago and this was the first thing that popped in my mind. Rest in Peace Michael Gambon
My wife said Michael Gambon and Immediatly my head went to "Hmmm I know him from Top Gear" Instead of "Oh Dumbledore" Like most folk
1:08 Bro that interference sound is so nostalgic. Back when I had a flip phone, when someone called me but before the phone started ringing, interference, with anything wireless, would cause that sound.
I still hear this sound to this day especially when I’m wearing headphones. And I’m using modern tech.
Tape players on pause do it so much
I think this was the best interview ever in all of Top Gear's history. May Sir Michael Gambon Rest In Peace.
What an actor, what a man. RIP Sir Michael Gambon.
Rest in peace to one of the most memorable laps in TG history! Gone but not forgotten!
I’m still in shock, many legends are leaving us day by day. RIP Sir Michael Gambon, you’ve done well.
sir David Attenborough is still with us? For twenty years I have the mantra that all is well as long as mr Attenborough is on the BBC
@@Blackadder75 Ah, true true.
Coming back to this video was the first thing I wanted to do after hearing the news. Rest in peace, Sir Michael Gambon!
(I still haven’t watched any of the Harry Potter movies even ‘till now. I guess it’s as good a time as ever…)
I would recommend them. He’s a real legend, and his performance is great in every subsequent Harry Potter movie.
Rest in peace Sir Michael Gambon, you'll always be dearly remembered and forever immortalized. You made that corner into what it is to cement it in the great history of the original Top Gear run.
Thank you and fly high Mr. Gambon.
Had to come back here after hearing he had passed away. RIP Sir Michael Gambon
Oh damn rip
Clarkson looks so young.

@@rowanturner6205 or over 10 years of living

That's a relative statement considering he's 28 here.
@@RightOnBud Where the hell did you get 28 from? Clarkson was 42 when this was filmed
Rest in Piece Sir Michael Gambon, you will forever be immortalized by those of us who grew up watching Top Gear
It seems like he and James would be best friends!
Correct 😂
No. Micheal has and does live a lavish expensive life with all the premiums aspects in life. He's pretty humble, but he's still a snob (harsh truth) whereas James is the careless, cheap and from a lower class background.
Personally I don't think they'd get a long. They'd get a long mutually but not as good friends.
RIP Michael Gambon, it's immensely difficult to see your childhood heroes die as you grow up - but we must continue to have fun and enjoy life for all its virtues as I'm sure Mr. Gambon would've encouraged being the magical individual he was. It will be one of my life's biggest regrets not seeing him act live, but his contributions to theatre and children's imaginations shall live on forever - a priceless man.
RIP Sir Michael.
RIP Michael Gambon! Just came to see this moment which is iconic
Gambon gets a lot of credit for going around on two wheels on the last corner, but compared to Tom Cruise he kept it together well.
Lmaooooooooooooooo
Love how he is chatting with the audience before he is called up
What an absolute gem of a man, a very serious talented actor who really doesn’t take himself, or life in general too seriously.
RIP Sir Michael Gambon.💔
He's so good the corner was named after him. RIP Mr. Gambon
first thing i remembered. R.I.P legend
RIP Sir Michael Gambon. You will always go down in motoring history
As if by magic he lifted a car off the ground . Who else could play a wizard so well if not the late Sir Michael . And we will always have Gambon corner to inspire us . Much better than a commerative plaque on a bench or Oscars or Bafta awards .
Legendary Michael Gambon.
Rest in peace.
RIP, Sir Michael Gambon ( 1940-2023 )
RIP Michael Gambon
The Dumbledore and Legend brave racing driver🔥
5:24 Coming up through Gambon, two wheels off the ground, and the legend crosses the line!
This popped onto my feed today. Rest in peace, Sir Michael.
Much respect for Sir Michael Gambon. I enjoyed his acting very much. My condolences.
Came back to watch this as soon as I heard the news. RIP Sir.
i love how casually he says, "i feigned a heart attack."
I keep going back to this. I have sent this vid to so many people it’s my fav MG moment. Even better than when he’s yelling at hairy for putting his name in the tri-Wizard cup.
RIP Michael Gambon, absolute legend
I didnt even know Michael was in Top Gear, just heard about his death, i read about his appearance in Top Gear, and here i am watching it.
Rest in piece my man
Peace
He was a car Enthusiast, he loved vehicles. And I've seen his collection on the internet, and hes got a heck of a couple ferraris. He will be sadly missed. I thought Richard Harris was a really good dumbledore until I started seeing. Michael Gambon played him, and he really took the role and made it his own.
First thing that came to my mind when I heard the news. R.I.P Sir Michael Gambon
Finally got to see the Corner damn I have been looking for years for this most famous moment.
00:01:06, 00:01:19 This strange noise is a cell phone signal. Early 2000's I used to know my phone was ringing even on silent because this noise would come through speakers in a radio
Yeah, I even checked if I got sm message or sth :D
That noise in fact started before the phone started ringing, which was funny because I could always surprise people by picking it up even before the first ring just when the call started.
Haha i noticed that too. Made me smile, very nostalgic
yes!!! my dads car alarm used to go off with the phone sometimes and i can remember that noise from the doorbell speaker haha
Home radios still do that.
What a gentleman...R.I.P
RIP Sir Michael... great legend.
Sir Gambon will always be in our hearts for many reasons. I'm glad that his name was already cemented into a different genre, with the Corner on the Test Track. What a fantastic human being.
"To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure."

I love Gambon❤
Rest In Peace Sir Michael. Loved him as Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films.
