People, be grateful to God that you're still alive! It could be worse. We have been praying for Jamaica and giving thanks that only a couple of lives lost & you're there in St Elizabeth dissing the PM as if he was responsible for the hurricane! Material things can be replaced. For God's sake, learn how to be grateful and stop complaining about the gentleman. POLITICS! POLITICS! POLITICS! MY GOD!😮🥺
Amen!!!! We so wrapped up in politics we have loss our grateful hearts. Stuff means nothing if I could transport all my things to Jamaica I would🙏🙏 I am working towards minimalism

We often forget who is our Jehovah Jireh, Nissa, and Raphi!

They all want the Prime Minister to give them a brand new big house 🏠 and bring truck 🚛 loads of food and clothes to each and everyone of them.
Things would be great then.
Put down your money for rainy day! Like this one.
Government to give you this and that.
You better bounce yourselves back.
Or else you fart.
JPS,,,THANK YOU,US ORDINARY PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE ALL GOING THROUGH SOME WORKING OVERTIME,I AM GRATEFUL
St Elizabeth because there is not enough hotel in your parish no body going to care whether uno have electricity or not, mi sorry fi uno 😢😢 .
Give God thanks you are alive
It’s time Jamaica started to bury the electricity lines underground.
Farmers and people need to start saving and creating your own solar power.... this is politics at its best ...it will never change
Yes. They must do things to help themselves. The world is a selfish place now. I pray all kind of farmers get back on their feet❤
It's terrible Jamaican government is treating Haiti people as such 🤔 how quickly they forget . The lawyer is right, and she should get support from the people in this endeavor. On another note , why isn't the government supporting a solar program in the needed area throughout the country. Why isn't there a tech program that teaches or incorporates clean energy skills that young people can adapt in their communities to benefit them in times such as this.🤔 imagine meet farms without generator🤔
@@trevorbailey1448 so are you saying that the govt should get an imf loan to buy generators for meat farmers?
@@trevorbailey1448 simple they won't benefit any money from it
@@dantronics1682 i am saying farmer should invest in generators as back up for time like this. However if it become a situation were the lost of the product will impact the society in a dramatic way the government should assist if need be. They don't need to borrow for that 🤔 Jamaican are paying taxes and the government should have disaster funds as well.
Its approaching 7 days without light in IB in Annotto bay n there were no damages to utility poles. I wish Jps would stop leading with how many customers have been connected as the truth of the matter is a vast majority haven't. Overall it's just disappointing as I have to work from home and can't
Texas has power outage and the government said it’s going to take weeks to restore .and no one crying .Jamaican act as if they are special and most of them not paying no bills
How u know so?
@@genevaparker275 because I live in Texas family
Speak for the half million Jamaicans that are in poverty. meeding housing and medical needs, you or Jamaica do not have the calibre to help external affairs, France and the USA can and will not help. Dominican republic is share one island and they can not help, cuba is 90 miles from Jamaica
@@maxtrowers3674 we as Jamaicans living overseas can help.
Why are you attacking the reporter? He is JUST reporting what he gets to report!! We need to start acting civilized in this place.
@@karengordon8819For us to act civilized, education is key but that’s never been nor will it ever be a priority for Ja.
Education is multi faceted... we can educate ourselves.
Its all about what kind of education brainwashed or indoctrination???
Greetings nice & decent people. CALL ME DUNCE. SHOULDN'T the Soldiers be deployed to help out?. Isn't that what other countries around the world would've done.People I feel your pain. Walk good. 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇬🇧👊🏾
More people, especially those who can afford to should think about solar energy. Jamaica is located in an active hurricane zone, this was not and will not be the last a hurricane will destroy electricity wires and poles and disrupt services to customers. Hurricanes will be getting more powerful and frequent, in addition to building your homes to withstand these storms people should also invest in solar energy, have water tanks and even get satellite internet. Outfit your homes so that you can live comfortable off the grid.
Solar will get blown away like paper in a hurricane. Not totally the solution.

Amen 🙏!
That man has a special hate for the Priminister and everyone who wears green, they speak with no respect unless its their party people! But the fact still remains Mr Holness is doing a really good Job! The World sees and acknowledge this! Keep working Mr Holness 💪
😂😂
They expect the man to give them money and food and a big new house.
Jamaicans, not everyone but a good % of people feels like everything is the government's fault. As citizen we've to play our part in any way we can. Take care of the infrastructure and your surroundings to avoid things like flooding ,mosquitoes etc. Government cannot do everything.
Jamaica is not equipt to acommodate asilom seekers at this time, how will they survive ,when Jamaicans can ardly get by?the government will habe to find cloding ,food and shelter free of cost ,and that would be unfair to the homeless Jamaicans that is already needing help.
I hope while she's defending the Haitians to remain in Jamaica, she's making sure no more guns are brought in the island! Too many guns for a country that does not manufacture them!
All I know is that I better NOT get a light bill next month from JPS for the full amount
Grow lemongrass and a variety of mint to repel mosquitoes; they are also good for tea.
If Stephen Shaw can't take care of the roads in regular weather how can he do so in storm season
Thank God u are alive stop blameing the prime minister
Thank God you are Alive but please continue to BLAME! your Prime Minister😂
True talk
It will take time just be patient, remember it is a disaster . Everything can't done at once , some will get today and some tomorrow some next week until we all satisfied.
Well said
I'm sure you're saying this because you have the luxury of electricity and water.
It's about time people get Electricity y the hospital doesn't have back up
The Prime Minister is doing a good job but some of the people them in Jamaica don’t know good governance
Dem simple UNGRATEFUL THEY THINK HE CAN WAVE A MAGICAL WON AND THINKS COME IN PLACE
Grateful uno can't serious Grateful after paying years of tax you think a the prime minister money a spen d it's the citizens money. They only need to be Grateful to the Creator for saving their lives. He is a servant he is one that need to be Grateful that he is in a position to help the people paying his salary kmt
People invest in solar pannel
I feel it for my parish! It shouldn’t take an entire month to restore electricity to St. Elizabeth. There is no sense of urgency whatsoever to get things back up and running. You can do better 🤦🏽♀️
Jamaica is not like America!
Days like this will come again.
Don't waste your money on unnecessary things save for time this.
The man you want to put in power, where is he now.
He is the one you said better than Andrew! Where's he now?
Shouldn't he be out and about?
He is probably hiding from all of you.
Wait till election time you all will see him again don't worry.
I don't know why people hates Andrew people need to stop and show some respect for who's in charge
How did he disrespect Mr Holness? If you employ someone to work and you have a problem with the quality of work ,wouldn't you speak ? Bro Gad is NOT GOD.( Labourite speaking)
Are you serious? Thought we were pass the 80's and 90's. People are to do without power for over a month. Come on Jamaica!
ppl blaming the PM the PM have nothing to do with y the light taking so long to connect the blame is to go towards the JPS ND not the PM
You know, I'm one of the biggest critic of this PM and his government but I agree with you here. However, I must add, the government needs to have better disaster management and preparation in place.
Its obvious JPS and even the NWC can't be the only power and water companies on the island. They can't service the growing number of households that rely on them nor respond to crisis and upgrade their infrastructure. Either the government give license to other utility companies or it does some kind of subsidies to get more people move to solar energy... or at least outfit hospitals, schools and government buildings with solar energy.
How you mean the PM has no control I can't agree with you a 100% because he is the one who granted jps with a licence and contract while he can't make the electricity power available right away to everyone but he can apply pressure to the light and power company to move much faster I bet if it was a election and he needed vote he would come out with a more demanding attitude towards the situation
@@heatwaveenterprise9634 do u read what u post cause it make no sense
The residents clear the roads not government
A month to restore electric in one parish what about the rest of the west
From I was in Jamaica 🇯🇲 I have been hearing about the police and the government is doing their best to fight crimes fifteenth years later nothing seems to change. Shouldn't the government be doing something different 🤔 in stopping this criminal and crime scurge.
JAMAICAN PRAY 💜👏🔥
The island is not that big Jps is too slow.the only thing them fast with is over charging you.them charging so much and they don’t have enough workers bs.
Woman what u want stop complaing give thanks u are alive
This is what happens when is only one consonant provides all the electricity for the island. There should be other power companies similar to multiple phone companies (Digicel, Flow, Cable and wireless). JPS don’t have no competition and that’s why dem so slack
Do you realize what a mess that would be with all kinda electrical wire all over de place. Cellphones companies are different they use cell towers for communication.😮😮😮
Mayor of St Mary, what are you saying? Are you following the work that needs to be done by JPS? Them thief bad but their work is well cut out for them, I get you want people to see you though
What about electricity in westmoreland
Supposed to be back on
I hope the water comes now cause I don't have no more water in my house
Here in uk when we have bad flood it can take weeks before light come back,
I am living in the town of Port Antonio at Titchfield Hill and we dont get any light yet i had to leave my home ..its one week
I went to Grange hill high school, class of 2012 and all now them nah cool, brothers show more love nuh, unite Nuh Man, Unity is strength Bro
No light in Houston Texas USA after beryl we complain too much
I here a man in st Elizabeth say the pm come to st Elizabeth .he go and one side and he never go on the other side. And he say what kind of prime Minister he be.he should go and look for the other rest of people
Heat aguh kill mi down here st Elizabeth Lord please remember us we need you now more than ever send help for the helpless 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 we are at your mercy Jesus
Times past JPS would go around and check for defective light post and replace them. Is that a thing of the past seeing how many light poles have fallen.
I suppose you are not living on the island or you was asleep and didnt know there was a storm last week. its the strong wind that cause a lot of these poles to be defective
@@dantronics1682makes no sense.
Girl yuh is not running Jamaica, we can't even control of of our own, much less them, yuh need fi shut up .
Sending all my best wishes to 🇯🇲 folk.
Hoping things can get back to some kind of norm as soon as possible.❤
Most of the wooden light poles are over 50 years old. They're long past their life span concrete and metal poles would lessen the impact. Alternative source of power is another solution too. But the big question is; how much longer do we think these old poles could last? It's a miracles that this destruction did not kill more people
Jps is working Yu of to give them time is a lot
So true because in santa cruz they are not doing anything
Try help u self and leave the government alone he cannot do everything we heve to try for yourself too😢😢😢😢
All know mi no get yet but god is god
That man was saying without his light he heard mosquitoes and dogs outside and a lot of gunshots firing so was it the mosquitoes and the dogs having a shootout lol 😂
well dogs dont like when mosquitoes bite them so they get angry and start bussing shots
What kind of man are you looking for hand out .
It is not everything uno fi depending on the government. Set uno priority straight what happened to your money you save.
What about Mount pelier
Sandy Bay hanover. There are no lights from last week Wednesday
All I know our people are so disrespectful and ungrateful, it is just about them like is them alone
Not enough is being done by jps and government
The toll road should be free at this time
Am in st Elizabeth Ballards valley to be exact and we are depressed because we have no electricity no water no internet and the children can't live without internet
Jps needs to ask for help Jamaica has some very good electricians why not employ them I am sure they will be willing to take up the offer do better than that jps 300 workers is only a small amount so what about the other places that are out of light
Pure lazy work cause them give 1 side and don't give the other kmt and we all pay bills
People blaming JPS yet why they not been trimming trees in their yards> you see most breadfruit and pear trees either lost limbs or all the way down and some people been saying for years they should trim the trees but hollar about cost for cutting- now blaming government for slowness cleaning the tree from their own yards that stopped their electricity or flow- haha Meanwhile I just keep going with my solar..it small but it works enough for me
Fix the potholes in Bouge Village phase 2!
People Uno go pray 🙏
Nuff people not paying bills but dem a talk but dem want light
They should have extra workers in place due to the warnings before the storm ⛈️ came do affer they would be in a better place
😢 Imagine jps is late on the ground to restore power but not late when you older money 6 days is an absolute national disgrace I'm calling on the Prime Minister these situation these hurricane are something that happens quite free Minute of a certain nature and it creates so much devastation supple plans should be put in place as well as the recovery for the country
Chides your so right
The most expensive thing in life is life itself because money cannot buy life so from we have life we have hope so lets be grateful and stop complaining lord have mercy on us trust me.
Nuff love to Haiti! We shouldn't leave you stranded. One love
About go cashless this is a joke
Everybody thinks they are the most important thing about town and fail to see the bigger picture. Developed countries take weeks after suffering hurricanes and earthquakes. JA government is doing the best that they can.
I remember a winter storm in the UK and people had no power for several weeks.
We in the south East St, Elizabeth and surround area need urgent assistance. NAIN, BROMINGTON HALL, CONTANT, LITITZ STEVEN RUN, WE ARE SUFFERING NO WERE TO EVEN CHARGE YOUR PHONE USE A FAN. HELP HELP WE CAN'T WAIT FOR A HOLD MONTH. THE ROAD FROM NAIN THROUGH TO FOUR ROAD, TO DOWN THE LIGHT POST ARE IN TACK WHY CAN'T WE SEE TLTHE JPSCO TEAM IN OUR AREA. WITTER FOR OUR AREA ALWAYS ABUNDANT OUR AREA.
Have enough contractors but there's a lot of people without working jobs start a training in program in courage put money into it get more school leavers far once there's lots of ways to improve that national crisis of not more people on the ground
Tank you lord for my good good people as you say let it be light, and dear is light in to the 🌍,, tank you,,,,
I believe, from the moment Jamaica expect the hurricane, people should start to bolt down the zinc roof tops secure it by whatever means possible.
Jamaica is in a hurricane zone so build you homes to withstand disasters.
Hurricane bound to hit Jamaica.
Get a generator, put in storm windows and doors and of course band down the roof tops.
Andrew Holness didn't call Beryl to visit Jamaica.
Stop blaming the man.
Mad lawyer that deport them
JPS ain't nothing nice.
Meanwhile in America more than 12000 personnel was out working to get back power in just 1 small area that beryl hit in texas..cmon government you need emergency workers to help in disasters to get the country back on track as fast as possible 6 or 7 jps workers cant manage major disasters like these. Normally it takes JPS from 8:30 am to 5pm to put up 2 light pole., suh a all September B4 some people si light
jps need to stop using wood light poles and start using galvanized metal. the metal poles are much longer and can be planted much deeper and that would prevent future poles from falling down. look at the road behind devon house and you can see the poles im talking about
Pray and read Psalms 51.
West Indies confident of what exactly?
Ppl buy solar lights and string in your communities and yard.
Good evening tks for news hop you ok❤
Enjoyed this newscaster
All good but what about Manchester?
Count your blessings because if we did get a direct hit as Gilbert we nuh see light for weeks into month and there was help from different countries to help with the work...if Beryl had hit, it would humble many...thank God we speared..
They won’t see light for weeks to month(s) in some parts of St E. GMA in St E say she never see anything so bad in her life
Look don't blame the pt company when Gilbert came we were without light and water for over 3weeks the wors😢
Our national security is at risk. What is more important
Nwa clear 95 percent of which road most of the road I saw getting cleared was clear by citizens, a the money them want collect them come a take picture after citizens clear road
They know that there will be an Hurricane 🌀. The Department of PARKS and RECREATION should be out TRIMMING TREES 🌳 and SECURE the Light Wires. The Prime Minister knows the Hurricane Season, why Not DEPLOY this Department to TRIM TREES.
The JPS is a DISGRACE. They should DEPLOYED WORKERS to CLEAR BRANCHES AWAY from the Electric Wires !!!
so JPS should send out skilled workers to clear branches when that skill could be better used elswhere?
It's ok..you allow the same politician in that don't care about. Over and over😂
Jps always getting paid so in time like these when the people them need them why not show up and do their jobs
JPS drop the ball 😤
Jps need more workers to help them
Jamaican youth don’t want no skill so JPS as to use the little workers they have
@@alliejohnson2373 facts they rather scam n rob people

Sir, TV and laptop shudda plug out!
Talk people this is a big company have no backup and these big light bills every month so what cannot do better should have a backup it is very uncomfortable without light 2to3 weeks now no man
The lawyer at 13:30 gave the best speech. But with a prime minister who flew to show support for another prime minister accused of genocide, we understand why he sent the Haitians back.
Have yall considered burying your high tension electrical cable? It's not that expensive to do and storm recovery would be made much easier.
