    Me and my riding buddy bought new rykers last spring. He put a pedal commander on his about half way through summer. He now needs a new rear tire and mine is still fine. Granted the OEM Kendas are crap and the ryker easily spins the rear tire without a pedal commander, but it does eat the rear tire much faster. For him, he would gladly buy a new tire every year to have the throttle response. It's not for me but everybody is different I guess is my point. Glad there is something out there to address the need. BTW, I love Slingmods. It's a great company. Have purchased several upgrades for my ryker from them. Another great video Coach! Thanks

    I had almost as much fun as you did watching and hearing your commentary! I stuck one in the Slingmods list on my account but was waiting for this video before I pulled the trigger. That list is long, by the way so this will jump ahead of quite a few "wants". BTW, on my Dodge Hemi, I had it installed on there for 2 or so years and never had once code thrown. And, I ran that car pretty hard! Have a great weekend Coach!

    Great Vid CB. This Pedal Commander really peaks my interest. I have a Honda civic Si. Its comes with about 177HP at the wheels 200flb of torque. I've had a Hondata flashpro kit installed & then professionally tuned. The car NOW makes 231HP at the wheels & 266flb of torque. It's a turbocharged engine that are susceptible to turbo lag (hesitant after shifting). & that is gone now & it's a completely different beast with better fuel economy to boot. That's what the PC reminds me of. Although it's not adding HP, its definitely changed the mapping of the shift points which gives it a more responsive feel & characteristics. I'm not a hot rodder but it is fun to open it up every once in a while. This could be considered a safety tool also. It gives you the ability to quickly get out of the way of potential traffic issues if that ever occurs. Great video again CB & would you please thank coach Vic from my wife Keri & myself for the wonderful Spider decal. God bless ❤

    I have a 2018 Goldwing DCT tour that I just love but my knee buckled the other day when I slipped on ice here in Oklahoma. I have been watching your channel for a few days now and Im thinking the spider is in my near future. I have a little over 5000 miles on it and I'm really leaning on either trading it or selling and getting a Spider RT. Love your videos so far. Looking forward to seeing you on the road.

    Coach, OK.... I bought it. Your commentary, honesty and Martin the vlogger sold it. Thank you. I tend to have wrist numbness after riding for an hour. I think this will help because you don’t twist as much to get the same effect. I very seldom ride 2 up but will it work then also? I was told certain models really turn on the safety features once it senses a passenger. This video will definitely sell a bunch of Pedal Commanders. Hopefully you get to keep yours just for the awesome advertisement. I just purchased my second Spyder it drives great. I had intended it to be a weekend hobby but it turned into my Daily driver. I drive about an hour to and from work, mostly autobahn and the Spyder fits right in. Maybe I’ll post a video driving around Europe one day.

    I've been watching and enjoying your videos for a few months now. Your and your wife's comments solidified my thoughts about the Spyder being the bike for me. I've shown my wife your videos to help her understand it better and how you two enjoy traveling together on it. I've been out of riding for some time but just bought a 2014 limited and waiting for it to get shipped here. We live up in the panhandle so it's a bit colder than where you are but I plan on some cold weather riding. Thanks for all of your twos videos and commentary on the bike.
    I think you mentioned in a previous video that it was not weatherproof/rainproof. Is that the case and if so what do you do when it rains Do you have to remove it or hide it by some manner?.

    Assuming your times are accurate, this is not doing much for actual acceration as it is the perception of excelleration. I would argue this is the equivalent of full trottle accerafions all fhe time, which cant be good for mileage and or engine longety. It sure raises the fun factor, but a pass in my book for the currect price point. Id rather (and did so) spend the money on other items su h as heated grips, and auxiliary lighting to be safer and more comfortable. Thanks for the video.

    Hi Coach Bob,
    While I thoroughly enjoy all of your videos, I was especially interested in this one on the pedal commander.
    But I wish I had read the comments more thoroughly. A good question was raised halfway through the comment section …about it voiding your warranty. I didn’t pick up on that the first time I saw this video. I’ve been waiting for my 22 RT Limited for almost 4 months, I’m finally going to pick it up tomorrow morning, and when I asked him to install the pedal commander on it before I picked it up, they said,”sure bring it on up …we’ll get it on for you. “ And then they called me back and said you do realize that this voids the entire warranty on the bike. Don’t you? needless to say I asked them not to install the pedal commander. I figured I’d wait until I’m well into my first year of full-time riding and make sure that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the bike before I do something as foolish as void the entire warranty.
    Keep up the good work Coach Bob and “Hi” to coach Vic, from up-state New York!

    • @CoachBob3
      @CoachBob3  Před rokem

      I love the Pedal Commander.. but, it isn't worth voiding your warranty. I put mine on and it was quite simple to install and its function is quite ingenious. Enjoy your ride and when ya can try one without any issues....I think you're gonna love it.

    Nice video. I do have to question, why mount this exposed? My suspicion is that one would find a setting they prefer and leave it there. Or am I wrong? If you would rarely adjust, then I would have mounted it under a user accessible panel (i.e., glove box or under the oil check panel).

    • @CoachBob3
      @CoachBob3  Před 3 lety +4

      I may mount it out of the way. But initially I wanted to show it and mess with it. There is in fact a blue tooth phone app so you can operate the device which I’ll show that soon. Also I will eventually post other mounting options.

    We ride two-up all the time on our '18 RTL and I've never felt the need for more response (okay, 100+ passing a semi!), so I don't see the need for this for us. Being in our 70s, we thrill pretty easily. I've already got a Ryker 900 that scares the crap out of me, so thrills are already abundant. Now an F3, one-up, now were talking! Kinda curious, though, in your tests, what kind of rpm were you shifting at? That can make a world of difference to me. When I want power at 65 I just go to fifth. Just curious...

    • @CoachBob3
      @CoachBob3  Před 3 lety +1

      Honestly I wasn't watching the tach very closely... just riding by feel. As I felt the rpm's rise and the torque dissipate I hit the shifter. I know that I run the RPM's higher before shifting when using the PC. It just gets you to the power band more quickly. In real world city driving I think it is of benefit. Highway driving...probably not so much. As you said a simple downshift will get the RPM's up and deliver the needed torque to make a pass more quickly.
