This was very helpful with the fact that I had been using a slow charging cable. The cable that came with the tablet was so loose it did not work anymore. I had been using a cable I had for my phone that all of a sudden began giving me "slow charging" pop ups when used on my phone. This is the only reason I knew it was slow charging. After I watched this video I knew the best thing to do was test all the cables I had in the house. Once I found one that not only charged my phone, but did not give me a "slow charging" pop up, I finally found a cable that worked on my tablet. Thank you for the advice!
The primary concern with different USB wall adapters is *current*, not voltage. ALL USB wall chargers output 5V DC, but current can very from 900mA to 4A. While the device connected to the charger requires voltage to match nearly exactly, current must be *sufficient*. (A 4A charger will work just fine with a device that requires 2.5A, but a device that requires 4A won't charge well - or, perhaps, at all - with a 2.5A charger.) If using a multi-port wall adapter to charge multiple devices simultaneously, make sure that the adapter's current output is at least the sum of the current requirements of each device that's being charged. According to this worthless video, just send it back to Amazon. They will immediately repair it and send it back to you! But if you're like the many other real users, you don't have a warranty any more and despite Amazon knowing of this issue since its(kindle) inception and ignoring it, you'll waste your time with videos like these trying to find an answer. Believe me, I certainly have. And have only found a handful that expose the problems but have not found a true "repair" video to date. I'm still searching. Perhaps there is an ethical person out there who will actually do a step by step troubleshooting and repair video. I know this one isn't it!
omg this is literally what happened to me, the tablet just turned off out of nowhere and wouldnt turn on then i left it charging for 4 hours and it still didnt charge
Something to try for a temp fix that I found while searching for an answer. It sounds weird but plug your tablet in, then lean it against a wall or in the corner of a chair or couch so the tablet is resting on the charging cable. When you get it at the right angle, it will charge. Just tells me the usb connector is bad and requires the contact to be forced. Been doing it for a couple weeks and it works fine.
@@Lilsaxx99 Yep, it worked for a while but eventually the charging port broke out. I stopped using it altogether and got an Ipad for just over $200. For the price you pay for the Fire Tablets, it's a decent deal but obviously is disposable. It it just unfortunate that if you play a game on the Fire that tracks progress, it disappears completely and you go back to zero.

@@kiwisun529 A lot of games have a save option or transfer option. See if the game has that. Install the app/game on the new fire and hopefully you can clone it to the new game. What game/s are you trying to move and do they have a help option that you could contact them on how to do it?
When my three year old Fire refused to charge anymore two years ago, I bought a smaller Fire tablet and bought the charging dock that goes with it. No more plug ins. It works like a charm. Every morning I put it in the stand and within half an hour it is completely charged. The Fire's weakest point is that darned plug-in charger. I used to buy new charging cords every three months. In two years I haven't had an issue with my Kindle Fire. So, if you have to get a new one, go with the one that uses the charging dock.

I'm never buying one again, we have had a problem with every Amazon tablet I have bought. They all seem to have numerous issues then after warranty they die completely and Amazon won't help you anymore. I have literally had this happen 3 times now. Impreesive Isaac Same here. I usually turn it off while It's charging so it stays cool. High heat still kills the🔋. Make sure the amp brick will take its charge as its on. Then turn it off. Better to let it charge overnight. Morn it'll be ready to use.

Luckily I’m going to tell you how to solve the problem: Hold the power button for 40 seconds while it’s plugged in Remove the power cable and hold it for 40 more seconds As your holding it, and if the screen flashes a few times; plug the charger back in. If it doesn’t flash or make any sounds, try repeating the steps and plugging the charger in and out to “jump start” the battery. If this doesn’t work likely your battery is completely dead, or the hardware had a major failure. Charger ports can also reach too high a temperature and mess with the ability to reach the battery. This solution is a software reset that also stimulates the battery. All personal data should still be fine
Also this has worked on a number of friends devices. I am a software engineering/computer technician but a programming college student. Hope it works for you too

One day it went to 0 percent and never turned on like ever i litteraly tried every trip and trick but no luck! I give up so i just asked my mom to take it to the electronic store and fix it.😑
I legit got home, and it was at 1%! That morning it was at 68% when i sent to school. Keep in mind i turned off the screen not the actual tablet. But i haven't had this problem before! It just happened. Idk whats wrong. It may be the fact my sister dropped it on the hard floor and crackes the screen.

They are not well built. Two tablets less than 3 months and both stopped charging and won't turn on at all. Brought new power cords, and nothing. Won't even factory reset.
If anyone tablet is saying charging and the percentage is not increasing so you have to shut down it many times but the battery will decrease two percentage every time but when you will reach at twele by shutting down again and again so you can put it on charge again this happens every month with me one time and i do this only😊😊😊
My fire 10 hd wouldn't charge or turn on straight out of the box. Wirelessly charging doesn't work. It says Amazon for a second if I held down the power button for 30 seconds, and then shut off. But now it won't even do that. The warranty is up because it was a gift and held for 6 months and I didn't open it for 6 months. Soooooooo it's just a piece of garbage then?
This was really great advice, I definitely had a hardware issue, I contacted Amazon and even though it was out of warranty they gave me a 15% discount to purchase a new one. These tablets are garbage. The charging port keeps failing and failing. I have gone through 4 of these tablets so far, and the last one destroyed the USB port in my desk that has charged my phone successfully a thousand times. Here is what happened. I finished charging my phone, and then decided that I would try to fix my latest malfunctioned tablet that was not powering up anymore, so I tried to fix it by plugging it into my USB port and trying that button push technique, but it didn't work. Now the port doesn't work anymore and I can't even use it to charge my phone anymore! So yes, I am quite sure that Amazon's Fire tablet destroyed my USB port. You guys, be careful that the same thing doesn't happen to you.
This video didn't help me, but anyone with a tablet that won't charge try plugging it into a computer, or a hardware system,(like a game) directly. I have 2 cables and 2 adapters for my tablet and it did not read either one. I hooked it up to our cable box with the same cord and it came right on. The tablet has never not charged before, so it was weird. But I hope this helps somebody, that was about to contact Amazon like I was this morning.

I fixed mine by cleaning inside both the port and Micro end with a soft toothbrush

Maybe a bad usb port or a bad battery and i will have to replace it. Sometimes the usb ports come off the motherboard and need to b resaudered
I had that problem, I found no solution, I finally gave up, but a year later I decided to try and plug it in, guess what it worked.

Turned out it was my cable. Happened to find a Mophie charger cable that worked in place of the Fire cable. Yay! It's charging as I type.

OML MY FIRE TABLET WORKED TYYYY SO MUCH IT WOULDNT WORK CUZ I PLAYED ON IT WHILE IT WAS CHARGING OR SOMETHING HAPPENED IDK BUT IT WORKED TYYY SO MUCH
This video didn't help me, but anyone with a tablet that won't charge try plugging it into a computer, or a hardware system,(like a game) directly. I have 2 cables and 2 adapters for my tablet and it did not read either one. I hooked it up to our cable box with the same cord and it came right on. The tablet has never not charged before, so it was weird. But I hope this helps somebody, that was about to contact Amazon like I was this morning.

I have to raise the off where it meets the tablet. Still like life support. Slows down death but doesn't charge
Mine doesn't even do anything... earlier it said it was charging for like one second and then it unplugged again
