  • This is my very low-tech way to write on cookies without a projector using royal icing. I call it the tissue paper method because it uses - you guessed it - tissue paper!

    I bought a projector many years ago and have used it many times. It works great but it's big and heavy to move to my baking area. I love this method much better! Many years ago when I transferred images to sheet cakes I would use piping gel on wax paper to trace the image then flip it over and press image on to cake following the design using a toothpick. It worked! I've been decorating cookies and cakes since my first Wilton cake decorating class in 1979. Still enjoy it😃

    I have trouble with the edible marker color soaking/bleeding into the piped letters. So often the letters I'm piping are white, and no matter what color marker I've tried, the white letters (doesn't matter what consistency I used) soak up some of the marker. I piped white letters onto blue cookies the other day, with black edible marker. The next day, the white had little patches of pink here and there on almost every cookie. Please help! (I made sure the marker was dry before piping.... I did 50 of them, so by the time I got to piping, the marker was well dried)

    This is a very cool method, but in the last shot, you can see the pen marks. I wonder if there's a way to make these lines thinner - or more precise?

  • @veronikam8161
    @veronikam8161 Před 3 lety +2

    No kidding about the consistency->> What I would like to know, how your flood icing is stiff enough not the flood away from the edges, yet you can make base, roses and leaves while it’s still wet. Mine would be dry after 2 roses or overflowing the edges.

    When letting the first coat of icing dry over night how do you store the cookies so they stay soft. I’m just starting out in baking and was scared the cookie would harden leaving it out over night lol

    • @Sweetambs

      I had this same issue when I first started decorating cookies! Now I add agave syrup to my cookie dough to keep the cookies from drying out while the icing dries. My full recipe is available in my Ko-Fi shop ☺️ ko-fi.com/s/4a329bf7a7
