THE GLADIATOR HOUSE (Pienza) | Episode 3 | SHOOTING TUSCANY (SUB ENG/ITA) | Leo's Photo Guides

I'm not entirely sure why it took me so long to record an episode about one of the most gorgeous places of the region: the so-called "Gladiator House", or Podere Terrapille if you want to use the real name.
As the name probably gives out, this place holds a special connection with an incredibly popular movie that got out in the year 2000: The Gladiator, directed by Ridley Scott and starring an amazing Russell Crowe as Maximus Decimus Meridius.
Leaving the notoriety given by the movie aside for a second - this location is still spectacular, with plenty of different compositions available and completely different looks depending the time of the year (or the day) you will visit this place.
Make sure to bring your wide angle (I'd say 24mm is enough) all the way to a decent telephoto lens (200mm is enough) for the main subject, while if you want to shoot further away houses/hills, I found myself shooting even with my 600mm. Imagination is your only limit!

All the locations mentioned in the videos will be found in the proximity of these coordinates - as there's only one path going down from Pienza you'll find all of them throughout the walk really close between each other.

The road location is great, however the walk back up the hill carrying a camera bag is quite a challenge so don’t take a heavy bag and take plenty of drink.
