Portal wars is the best series EVER!!
Another great story line, two hours into it but I already love the characters, the plot twists, the surprises and the settings. The female lead works very well and is quite credible. Thanks to James for putting this on CZcams.
This is like a perfect mix of portal wars and the soul bound series to me it is absolutely great I'm in love with the story so far

The writing is spectacular as always, but what REALLY makes your audiobooks so intriguing is your narrator. Not being able to fully read stories myself while at work has me always scrounging for books to listen to. Some narrators are so monotoned and the sound quality is so unbearable, I always click off before the end of the first chapter of what I would consider an interesting story.
Not your audiobooks. The depth of emotions that the narrator puts in is honestly some of the best I have ever listened to and it compliments your character development and world building so much.
Can’t wait for the rest of this.

I seemed lost while coming back to the portal saga new series because it has been a long time since I finished the early books.
If you make short recaps of the finished books it will really bring my rusty memory up to speed, might help a lot of listeners like me to rekindle the emotions and reignite the excitement.

The portal wars universe is easily one of my favorites (up there with middle earth, the wizarding world and the belgariad/mallorean) I’ve even bought the paperback copies (very hard to find outside of Amazon) and I’m eager to continue the story line.

My buddy showed me this series and he’s been obsessed with it, He’s even working on putting together an animated adaptation (along with some other series that he loves as well! he kinda has some “studio ghibli” ambitions and he would be a great person to do something like that. He is gonna make sure that they are 100% book accurate un-like so many other adaptations). We all love your work and we are all eager to continue the journey with you.

Is this a new series? I just came across this audiobook. I love the characters and the writing or is it a part of a longer series.
This is the first book of a new trilogy. You can enjoy it without having read anything else. There is a prequel, The War With Audin. And it's set in the same world as The Portal Wars Saga. Those two things will give you more depth for the setting, but they are by no means necessary to enjoy the story.
