    I went straight to my vw up and change the filter and remove that plastic tube. Sounds brutal 🎉

      Makes a massive difference innit. Its free and no side effects ive noticed driving it flat out all the time for 50k miles💯😂

    Yooo this is nice im considering doing this but does it make your mpg go down/ increase fuel consumption?

    • @19hmxd
      @19hmxd  Před 4 měsíci +1

      go for it!! at more it drops the mpg down by 3mpg per average or so, otherwise normal driving will never actually make the slightest difference, well not that ive ever notices anyway and ive done combined about 100k+ miles now

  • @Enill444
    @Enill444 Před 10 měsíci +2

    Without the intake resonator you will have poor low power and at high revs only the sound from the engine gives you this placebo effect.
    Better advice is to replace the stock airfilter to a K&N airfilter and that will be a overall good performance like the engine is on a air infuse......

    • @19hmxd

      ive done trackdays and regularly driven in tripple figures speed wise and never noticed any noticeable lack of power. theres not much power to start with anyway ahaha

    Does it create damage to the engine ?

    • @altinkalp
      @altinkalp Před 2 lety +1

      Obviously damage the engine. One function of this resonator is to seperate rough dust and particles from the intake air and extend the life of your air filter.

    • @19hmxd
      @19hmxd  Před 2 lety +1

      ive never expereienced any damage, ive done in excess of 50k miles with this and genuinely no side affects noticed. it does reduce the MPG slightly, but its a sacrifice im willing to make for extra sound and what feels like slightly better torque

  • @vagguru1808

    Will this damage engine or only air filter i hv a bmc performance stock replacement air filter

      @19hmxd  Před 2 lety +1

      hi ive done in excess of 50k miles with an intake resonator delete, ive never expereinced any damage / long term disadvantages
      i do admit there is some drone on the motorways but its something which is bearable and ive not minded it and can live with it, alsi affects MPG very slightly. otherwise its unlocking sound for free!

    • @19hmxd
      @19hmxd  Před 2 lety +3

      hahaha theyre only 59bhp, theres no power to lose! plus UK weather is always cold so doubt will make much difference for normal driving

    • @the_red_c30
      @the_red_c30 Před rokem +1

      It does make a difference because the restrictor is gone and because you take in warm air you loose torque.
      Yes it sounds faster, but actually it makes you go slower.
      Make the same runs from standing still and time them.

    How to remove the resonator without removing the airbox?

    • @19hmxd
      @19hmxd  Před rokem

      Pull the resonator pipe out the plug it has , have your hand on the airbox and the resonator pipe should twist off. Just makes it easier if you remove the airbox tho but still can be done

      @@19hmxd thanks for replying but i figured it out it was pretty easy BUT i had put it back on yesterday because what I’ve noticed was an increase in the mid and top end but at the expense of low end torque. Seemed like the low end torque just vanished entirely. It was getting hard to even to make the car move in traffic and had to burn the clutch even more. Sound was pretty good almost sounded like a 4 cylinder rather than 3 at higher RPMs but NVH levels also rose like at WOT i could feel so much vibrations through the gas pedal it was really not comfortable considering this shitty engine needs to be revved till red line all the time to make it move so i think resonators better on than off

    • @19hmxd
      @19hmxd  Před rokem +1

      @@maddeningmonk9585 hi thats strange. You possibly have an issues somewhere then as ive not experienced any of this. And ive done it on many of my vw up!s. Also ive done it for people and have had people do it now and theyve never reported this issue…. So i think you have a problem somewhere else which removing the resonator has uncovered!

    • @maddeningmonk9585
      @maddeningmonk9585 Před rokem +1

      @@19hmxd I’m not sure because if there is another problem, pretty sure my cars alright but let me tell you my engine is 1.0 MPI and not on vw UP but on VW Polo which makes around 75bhp. My car already weighs around 1050kGs and hence the affect on low end torque is so prominent on my car. Also I’m sure you must have felt the NVH levels rising whenever you go full throttle which makes the 3 cylinder vibrations more uncomfortable. I absolutely loved the sound but its just not worth it. Also I’m 100 percent sure nothing is wrong with my car because i always get it serviced on time and have done 60k KMs on it already and it still drives like its brand new everyday. The only thing that pisses me off is so little torque that it makes other than that this car is absolutely amazing to drive.

    • @19hmxd
      @19hmxd  Před rokem +1

      @@maddeningmonk9585 yeah man that could have something to do with it then. Ive always done it and knew people woth the 59bhp up not the 75 so thats probably why you could he experiencing that loss of power. However, is your airbox in good condition? Are the grommets in the back of the airbox perfect or lose? That causes that loss of power feel and juddering sound too. But. If you were to put an aftermarket intake on you would be removing the whole airbox and resonator which loads of people do but they never experienced this so im not sure. Oh well. It is what it is
