.but usually talk shows tell the guests about which Stories they can narrate. any interesting quirky stuff.

Now, what I think according to me, Graham Norton show DOES discuss the stories that the celebs can tell...but also packs some unexpected surprises. The other guests from different film also create a sense of unpredictability...as they may ask and start talking among themselves....and Norton never interrupts.
And also....loads of booze....which helps keep the flow of conversation
And then there's Craig Ferguson who just tears all the prepared question paper. Because he showed it as natural as he could. And he loved a little bit of awkwardness. I think you can watch that interview between him and Gillian Jacobs where she literally has to think of some good story that happened to her and suddenly she does surprise him with a good one.
Tom Hanks was on Letterman several years ago and told the story of when he was walking his dogs at night and they came upon a couple of skunks. He has excellent story telling skills.

I have a "coincidence" story re an actor. In 1986, I lived in the greater LA area. One Sunday, I decided to go to an afternoon movie and saw "Man, Woman, and Child", a film with Martin Sheen. On my way home, I stopped at a McDonald's, went in, and standing in line about 2 people in front of me, I recognized MARTIN SHEEN, also in line to get food. It was bizarre having just seen him HUGE on the movie screen and now seeing him in person less than an hour later. And, there he was, just standing in line at McD's, just like the rest of us.
My sister was stateside on vacation, at a gas station Martin Sheen casually rolls in, refills (she took a pic) and drives on!

God knows how many times that guy told the story, and ended with "I swear! I am not lying... That happened!"
I thought it was cool that he wanted to share that surreal moment with the guy watching on the bus.
I kinda had that moment when I moved to LA. I had just finished bingeing Sarah Connor chronicles. I was walking to get lunch and thinking about how much I like the show when I ran into Summer Glau walking her dog on the sidewalk. I just couldn't process that real-life encounter after 3 days of watching the show. No, I did not talk with her, there's a rule here with stars. Don't disturb them in there day to day activities, it's rude. Just let them have their space. I did nod and smile but kept walking.

anmllvr19 I would agree if he had only made one weird face. At first, I, too, thought he was just reacting funny. But then he did it again a couple of times. Finally at the end of Ricky’s monologue he had an undeniably offended expression.
By then he knew the camera kept coming back to him (the celebrities know when the camera is on them) so he knew what he was doing when he was “acting” offended. He wanted it to be known that he found it offensive.
I found it disappointing. He does not need to be offended on the behalf of privileged celebrities.
And from that time on that poor man was convinced that Disney was doping dole-whip 😯
