I wish games like this would include the OG Dragon Ball storyline, i really want to be able to play as Goku from the actual DAY ONE until current, and i've never once seen it done

Bruh, they should have done that with DB: Kakarot. Starts off with Bulma.driv8ngnduring the credits then bumps into Baby Goku. 1st boss fight would have been Bulma... then each DLC could have been the movies. 2nd game shoukd have been DBZ... 3rd game be latter segment of DBZ with movies as DLC. 4th game be DB Super. Sadly they cram everything in 1 game... same boring graphics. There's what 4 DB games now active. Yet companies are scared to compartmentalize the story so more human characters can be playable respectively.
I’m so sick and tired of CZcamsrs and streamers being treated like there such a high standard compared tot the rest of the gaming community that demos aren’t given publicly anymore and only these fools get invites to try new games. You almost never get a good demo publicly accessed anymore

My main issue is the cutscenes being a bit lackluster but I mostly just want to buy this as the next Budokai Tenkaichi game to play with some buddies on the couch like back when I was a kid with 3. It looks like it plays well and the character models and animations are beautiful.
You think these voice actors know all these lines and story beats by heart at this point?

it should have been Raditz as a playable character if Goku was overwhelmed; makes no sense they never do that.
Raging Blast 1 story mode did it and Dbz Burst Limit sometimes let you Play as a Villian in Story mode

Can video games fix the problem of fighting grunts and conversation overlapping… maybe make it to where they don’t start talking until the fighting and maybe make it sound like they are actually in the middle of fighting while discussing whatever with each other?
I think that would be pretty dope…

Looks like they built this on top of the Xenoverse engine, reshaped it and slapped the Z fighters shade over it.
no its built on the kakarot engine, just with a more zoomed in perspective, thats why the movement feels as fast as it does

I think they did tht side story before but yea we truly don't know how long these timeline stories are and if it affects other arcs. If it did that would be so awesome but I doubt it as it's their first game

I would love alternation in stories for dragon ball z like what if raditz killed goku and realized he was in the wrong from piccolo and telling him you killed your brother and now you are alone forever I don't think raditz was a mindless fool I think he would feel bad knowing he killed his only brother and change his way to fight vegeta but no one wants to get creative anymore

I play the Wii version and the Story is like a fun RPG+Lvl is connected to all other modes and you can go Super Saiyan even during Raditz and stuff if that’s what you mean.

Their is the game got advertised with it. You can make choices that diverge the story away from the canon. In the trailer showing it off briefly Goku goes Super Sayain early because Krillin died in the Sayain Saga.

First of all, this game looks fun for what it is but that grass sticks out like a sore thumb and hell.. it’s just funny that the water and environment (soil or ground) doesn’t move or react to the players it’s just an animation or effect layered on top of it still lol😂 I do love that the little mountains do destroy though.. that was a nice touch

Well this is one RADD Game hope to get it one day.
Where is the accuracy? they skipped a ton of dialogue and the costumes and setting arent accurate to what actually happened in the series. That was rushed and kind of disappointing if thats what the real fans can expect from the actual story mode. reference Tenkaichi 3 and try again but dont try to short us on a decent story.
Biggest crime is that there's no narration and 98% of it is still shots with phoned in voice work. Hoping the japanese dub at least sounds better

How did goku lose the fight when he won the fight......when it comes to telling the story line the computer should be harder like super extremely hard at certain points of the story......so it can relate to the cartoon.....just saying seem to easy

The bad things about Dragon Ball games is that you can't change history i want a game like Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiya Densetsu from super ness where it let make changes to the story.
Like beat Raditz with Goku alive or beat Frieza with vegeta.
They make new games but it's all the same.

This game will have a lot of "what if" scenarios, so it's possible.
I think it's time to create a game based on the DBZ universe rather than the original story, where everything is inspired by DBZ instead of copying the same story over and over. The game could have the same races, art and powers, but with different characters, mechanics and a story set in a different timeline (I don't know, maybe in a far distant future where the Z Fighters are legends, like gods or something like that). Something like that would feel much more unique and interesting for the fanbase. These games released every year with the same story and small improvements in graphics and mechanics feel overly repetitive.

This story mode looks incredibly lazy. Still shots for transitions like a character flying in and no narrator talking. There were really banking on people just doing pvp and free battles for this. Raditz sounds off too for some reason

It looks lazy? Budokai Tenkaichi games before this were far lazier. A narrator explains everything and then a couple of lines of dialogue are exchanged before the battle. Gameplay has always been first and foremost in the Tenkaichi series. Besides, after DBZ Kakarot are we really in such dire need to see the DBZ story in full detail again?
@@Y-two-K Compared to what we're seeing here yes, those narrations and dialog were actually very acceptable for that time period (2007) especially considering that most of the focus was on the combat and the insane roster of characters. After a 16 year gap they could've definitely put more effort into the accuracy of the story mode and outfit selection. Respectively the Naruto Storm series is the Tenkaichi (arena fighter) of that franchise and you can see how much effort and accuracy was put into those games and their story modes plus this is gaming in 2024 are we really gonna say that this lazy story mode for a DBZ game who's predecessor is still hailed as one of the greatest arena fighters of all time is acceptable? Absolutely not. Not saying the whole game is terrible because the progression is apparent but in all honesty the story mode is flawed and could've been done better based on what we're seeing here but again this is a demo. FighterZ story mode stunts harder than what we're seeing here and it's an alternate; I played Kakarot for a week and the story mode was well done but it doesn't even compare to the Tenkaichi series as an arena fighter. It was more focused on the accuracy of the story which is why the combat felt stiff, they came close tho so yeah we need the story mode especially for GT and Movie content 🤷🏿♀️
That scene where piccolo special beem cannon'ed raditz and goku was bad..Why did the beam move at snailpace? It should have been fast as lightning. Generally the scenes seem underwhelming
