Here is an amazing part of design history for colt modern handguns. The restoration of the colt Model 1903 pocket hammer. The Colt pocket hammer was modeled after the Colt sight safety and Colt 1902 Sporting and military models. This model has no slide stop or safety. This model was different from the 1911 in the fact that it had two barrel link pins rather than just the one. The 1903 also had a huge design flaw. The rectangle locking pin at the front of the slide could brake sending the slide right into your face since the takedown of the slide was in reverse of the 1911. All in all the model had its drawbacks and maybe one positive. This pistol was ambidextrous due to no slide stop or external safety. Hope you enjoy the video and as always thanks for watching. Watching these always makes me want to go clean something
Ya that makes sense, thanks for watching we appreciate it!
Those results were amazing. With a replacement barrel that pistol would be as good as the day it was made. Great video.
Thank you we appreciate it, ya a new barrel would be the finishing touch. Thanks for watching!
The guns look better and better with each restoration! Keep up the fantastic work!
Thank you very much, will do!
I personally appreciate the voice over explanation of what you’re doing and why. Thank you for sharing and the video, not to mention saving another handgun.
Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate you and thanks for watching!
@@TheKinzlerBros I respectfully disagree. While I appreciate the knowledge transfer, I use these videos to wind down before going to sleep, dialogue doesn't help with that. Your videos though, do what you like.
Delighted to see another Kinzler Broseley video dropped this morning 👍
Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Mesmerizing videos. If you could make twenty of those a day, I would watch them all. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for the kind words and I would if I could. Thanks for watching
Really nice to see someone correctly restoring these. Great work
Ya there are a few hacks out there. Thanks for watching we appreciate it!
Correctly restoring them maybe. But they are intentionally rusting these firearms, and then putting up this Farce like they're saving them 😣
@@TheKinzlerBrosjust don't understand why y'all intentionally Rusty things and then act like you're restoring them you're using vinegar and saltwater... it's seriously just so dishonest
Awesome restoration as always! 😎👍 I love how the parts comes out clean after glass bead blasting. Top level gun restoration channel on CZcams! 👍
Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
Very nice work....powerful enough its day too.
Thank you, absolutely! Thanks for watching

Un lavoro perfetto. Bravo.
Thank you, thanks for watching!
Very fine work as usual Kinzleri! It looked like there was a quarter-cocked safety function on this fine piece when you worked the hammer during reassembly...yes? Or was it just me?
Carry on the awesome!
Thanks we appreciate it, ya you are correct! Thanks for watching!
Nice, was surprised you were able to hit the disc onto the Texas Star. Wow that barrel was almost slick. Good job guys.
Ya me too, thanks we appreciate it! Thanks for watching

Yes it is, thank you. It's amazing how smart they were to keep improving the design. Thanks for watching!

Beautiful Pistol Good Design Always just looks right 🫶
Absolutely, thanks for watching!
Outstanding camerawork! Restoration perfection.
Thank you for the kind words and for watching!
good to see you using multiple rods
for removing the mag so halving
the stress on the count holes
but still recommend using
bamboo chopsticks ;-)
Ya, thanks for the advice.
Amazing restoration and it works !
Thank you, absolutely! Thanks for watching
If you only manage to find a replacement barrel it should be fine like in the good old time 😉
Ya I can find one for sure, thanks for watching
Another great job, love the way you guys film these vids, very satisfying!
Thanks William, thanks for the kind words! Glad you like them
Great to have you back with another fantastic restoration.
Glad be back, thanks for watching!
I imagine one could just hand load 38 super ammo to the lower pressure of the older cartridge since they are dimensionally identical.
Yes you absolutely can do that all you need is to know the load and fps. I believe now I do not re load ammo and I’m not well versed in the procedures in re loading. But I read on a forum that you can do this yea. But .38 acp is available online. That’s where I got the cartridges to fire this colt. They are loaded to period cartridges that the firearm was designed for. But that doesn’t mean that one of these old colts can’t fail upon firing. Which is really scaring to think about if that from barrel link pin failed and the rectangle pin failed the slide could become a projectile directly at your face. Sorry for the long response. Thanks for watching
Beautiful restoration well done 👏 👍
Thank you very much!
How were those rounds in such good shape? I mean come on! They weren't even tarnished!🤨
I don't know what you are talking about, I still wasn't going to use them. Thanks for watching
@TheKinzlerBros ..LMAO...OK pal. Whatever you say...🙄
Always love a Sam Colt design.
Me too, thanks for watching!
Samuel Colt died in 1862, so even though this model is carrying his name, it was not designed by him, but by John Moses Browning.
But don't get me wrong. I think that this is one of the nicest looking designs of a handgun ever made, especially in the hammerless version. Maybe only put in the shadow by the Luger 08.
@@cowboybebop3994 Damnit, that's right. I r stoopid
Great job! I'd be proud to own that old Colt. And compared to that first view of the barrel? Shot out out or not, you made it work. Some pilots in WWII would carry their own personal pistols. I can imagine some young pilot in WWI having that Colt from home with him in his jacket in case he needed to make a forced landing.
Thanks, we are! Ya it's crazy to think about what they did for this country! Thanks for watching
Good work
Thanks
Execelente trabajo!!🙂👍🏻
Thank you very much! Thanks for watching
Didn't know there was a 1903. Really a great job. It turned out very well. Too bad about the rifling.
Ya they had a few trial and errors before they got to the 1911. Ya for sure. Thanks for watching
This is a beautifully simple gun.
Absolutely, thanks for watching!
Unless that gun was a range gun at a shooting club or some such I find it hard to believe that one shooter actually put that much lead down one barrel. That isn't a hot round. Even if you had new rifling cut the bore might be to large. At ten feet or so it might still hit.
It must have been for the rifling to be gone, thanks for watching!
Awesome, as always! Funny, because I really don't like Guns. But for someone as clumsy as me, watching you work is like Magic. Really cool! 👍
Thank you very much for the kind words we appreciate it, thanks for watching!
After You Restored It Don't Leave It Dry Put Some Lubricant So It Won't Jam It Will Function Well.Replacement Parts Are Available
I lubricate everything it doesn't always make the video. Ya I know, thanks for watching
Bravo 👏, another superb restoration 👍👍💪🏼💪🏼
Thank you very much!

@@TheKinzlerBros Do you have any news group to point question? For example size of glass bead you use. best regards
the pistol used by the paratroopers as they defended themselves in the church OPERATION ANTHROPOID
Thanks for the info, didn't know that! Thanks for watching
Very nice restoration on an old colt, darn gun is older than me lol.
Thank you, You would be really old if you were older than it! Thanks for watching
Fantastic, beautiful 😊
Thank you, thanks for watching!

Amazing handgun restoration technology. It's a Colt handgun, after all.
By the way, are you a gunsmith?
Thank you very much we appreciate it, not a certified gunsmith. Thanks for watching
A really good restoration as always, really liking the way the videos are improving 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks, we appreciate the feedback!
Excelent restoration men colt The best
Thank you very much! Thanks for watching
Perfect work, congratulations my friend. You gained a subscriber. Mother of strength too, thank you.
Thanks we appreciate the support, awesome! Thanks for watching
Nice looking pistol. It looks like somebody probably carried that thing every single day for a very long time. I wonder how many rounds it took to wear out the barrel like that? From the sounds of it, it seemed like the bullets were tumbling when they left the barrel at least half of the shots you fired.
Thanks, I like it too. It takes so many clips to make a bore smooth like that. Thanks for watching
Amazing as usual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again!
Why not replace barrel? With all the work you did. This would be such a nice weapon with rifling
Ya I probably will, thanks for watching!
Great work
Thanks!
i have one of these mint my carry gun thanks dad
That's a nice family heirloom. Thanks for watching
Mais um vídeo excelente, com um trabalho de restauração magnífico! 👍🏻☺️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks Marcio, see you on the next one. Thanks for watching!
Love the videos. I like the restorations but watch mostly to see how to disassemble/reassemble the guns. Thanks
Thanks we are happy to hear it, ya that is the interesting part! Thanks for watching
не знаю как вам) а по моему очень красивый пистолет) в плане инженерном, необычный он!
Ya it's a great gun, just a design flaw. Doesn't have a slide stop, so if the take pin breaks the slide will fly off!
Is there anywy to restore the rifling in the barrel? I've seen people mig weld a bore and machine it down but I don't know if that's an option in this application.
You can resleeve it but, not sure if you can fix it without doing that. Thanks for watching
Love your guys videos!
That was a really good video! What a cool restoration.
Glad you enjoyed it! We really appreciate your kind words and support! Thanks for watching
Спасибо за работу!
Красивый пистолет.
P.S. Бронзовый боёк - это интересно...

A great job saving a fine old firearm. Did you glass bead the inside of the magazine too ?
Thank you, yes I did. Thanks for watching!
Klasse Job echt Gut 👍👍👍

Cool video. Use a brass punch to avoid damaging the metal.
Thanks, they are they are just coated. Thanks for watching
Хорошая работа. Спасибо за контент

Nice restoration work again. It’s impressive the way you save these firearms. And good aim with a smooth bore pistol……lol
Thanks we appreciate the kind words, ya it wasn't too bad. Thanks for watching
Excellent video. I always look forward to your next one.
Thanks Robert we appreciate the support. Thanks for watching!
I hope not too many mouses had to suffer to get that amount of mousemilk out of the mouses
Haha right! It's a weird name for a penetrating oil. Thanks for watching
Great job on the restoration, it really came out nicely! I also enjoy your commentary, it really adds to the video. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Joseph, ya probably. Good luck on your restoration. Thanks for watching!
That bluing came out great. Looks like frigging powder coat.
Ya it worked great, thanks for watching!
I just have only one request please like can you do the voice over only at the begging and at the ending beacuse i watch it at night and i like to geare the asmr of that gun sounds and ectt like you can add as much as you want in the begging but not in between please but hey love your content king
Thanks for the feedback we appreciate it, thanks for your support of the channel!
You could always buy another barrel if you want to make it a shooter.
Absolutely, thanks for watching!
Need to polish up the feed ramp a bit.
I think it wasn't ejecting the spent round fast enough but, that wouldn't hurt. Thanks for watching
