- For the first time in three years and for the first time in nearly 40 years, a Democratic governor gave a speech from the House floor addressing a Decomcratically controlled Legislature. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer laid out her agenda for the next four years she is in office, during her second term.

Speech starts at 9:13! Love watching these things on youtube to bypass most of the gladhanding. Sucks Jeopardy was on for 6 minutes. I have a private pension. A whole 500 bucks a month in 8 years. I still will get TAXED to the max. Fat cat government pensions are now exempt. Michigan's chief export. Young people. So many of my younger family members moved away. (Until the economy gets better.) They did not. They got their degrees here and fled. They now live in Florida. New families and plenty of cash in their pockets. We have to quit living off of the carcass of the old auto industry. Lower taxes. Cut State income taxes in half. I pay more in AUTO insurance then they pay in income/property taxes on houses three times the value of my house in Michigan? Oh? I still received 5 extra ballots for people who use to live in my house 31 years ago before I bought it!! But it is down from 6! Improvement? As for GUN SAFETY. How about PUNISHIHNG criminals who use firearms in crimes! Power plants where criminals walk treadmills, hand generators, gravity dynamos to generate electricity! Put FEAR back into the criminal minds! As for the FREE college idea. Already WOKE professors and Community Colleges are adding WOKE classes to the requirement for any degree. Not sure how Lesbian dance theory or underwater basket weaving is useful? But anything to keep the College cash registers ringing. I love my mother-in law, stepfather and stepmother. But as soon as they are gone. I am GONE out of this state too!

When I moved from Michigan, my property taxes kept going up. Here in Georgia, I am getting a tax credit on my property taxes. And my house was way better priced here.

If you want less of a gun problem don't just inact safe storage promote gun safety through common classes. Don't take our fire arms, teach the public the needed respect and k owledge of these tools so the public understands them

As a republican i think the Governor did quite well with her speech……i am retired and will be grateful for the return of my tax dollars.
I am a bit pissed at my fellow republicans, who didn’t show her proper courtesy. And I didn’t see them applauding for the retirement roll back. What has happened to my party, they have become very uncivil. I will remember them come next election. If you dont support me, i will not support you.
