  • Learn how to paint a rice barge in this beginner’s art class, made for anyone who is new to oil painting or, wants to practice.
This video contains easy step-by-step guidance. There are some faster sections which are timelapse and designed to shorten the length of the video. If you find it’s bit fast and you are painting along, please press pause and play again when you feel ready to rejoin.
The painting was made on stretched canvas, using a range of small round and filbert brushes, a larger filbert brush and a small silicone tool.
Colours include: Titanium White; Lemon Yellow; Yellow Ochre; Cadmium Red; Crimson Alizarin; Permanent Mauve; Ceuruleum Blue; French Ultramarine and Primary Cyan
N.B. I use Liquin to mix with the paint to quicken the drying time, normally I'd choose linseed oil as a thinning medium. Also, some vegetable soap or, Bristle Magic to clean brushes.
Please dispose of cloths safely at the end of each painting session :-)
