Mohammed Rafi was an Indian playback singer and one of the most popular and successful singers of the Hindi film industry.
Rafi Saab was notable for his voice and versatility,his songs ranged from Classical numbers to Patriotic songs, Sad Lamentations to Highly Romantic Numbers, Qawwalis to Ghazals and Bhajans.
He was known for his ability to mould his voice to the Persona of the actor, lip-syncing the song on screen in the movie.

Ghantasala did not show interest to go to Hindi, otherwise he would have been a big competition for Rafi. While Suvarna Sundari Hindi songs were being recorded, Lata Mangeshkar asked ghantasala to sing 'kuhu kuhu' song as she felt that he could sing better but then Ghantasala did not show interest. SPB followed Rafi as it was easier than following Ghantasala.

I have listened to Ghantasala's songs..He doesn't immerse himself into character on screen.He was like let's say Nushrat fateh ali khan, great but not great voice,not great playback singer who can sing from Dilip Kumar to Rishi Kapoor with their exact essence on screen.He was really great but Rafi gave meaning to playback singing.

But yes.. you maybe right as well in your way.
Let's not fight here.We should consider personal likes and dislikes of everyone..For e.g person from a certain region with a certain accent, culture may have a different like in vocal sound than any other person from different region..
So for me Rafi's voice gives me more soothing experience..At the same time Ghantasala's voice gives you more soothing experience..Let's we both agree on that🙏
(I mean in hindi belt also there are many who don't like Rafi's voice as much I do. They prefer Kishore Kumar,kumar sanu over md Rafi..so it's personal choice)
@@ssagar8808 Now you come to my point. Yes, i admire Rafi and often listen to his songs, though my favorite Hindi singer is Mukesh. But, i do not consider Rafi or Mukesh etc much lesser than Ghantasala. We South people want classical touch even for social songs. The last link i have uploaded ckearly tells you that. But, yes, i even listen to Jaspal sibgh's 'Jab jab too mere saamne aaye ', Suresh wadkers' Kishores', Talats', Mannadays' and other singers' songs. Whenever i happen to listen to any melodious song of any singer, i admire it greatly. Yes, there were not just a few singers in the world that were / are great. Talat Mahamood was not versatile as he could not sing all types. But, whatever he sang were very great and melodious. So, i think he was not lesser than any other Hindi singer as he gave me the same level of joy like Mukesh, Rafi or any other. All are greats no one is greatest.
