- regretting that i just didn't initially commit to making the full animatic for the entire song haha
tbh i was kinda at the stage of "finishing it to just finish it" LOL but since i was on vacation i thought might as well! fun fact: did you know I uploaded part 1 on my departing flight and started part 2 on my return flight? (￣︶￣)
other thoughts:
- sorry for inconsistent penelope design LOL i never drew one
- i really wish i incorporated penelope better from 3:16 to the end (it felt better in my brain)
- zeus in the sky... i also wish i did that better but ya kno im tired
- 3:31 when i was drawing this frame i thought "he looks so bby girl here" lmao

I love how you don’t ever fully show Zeus’s true form here. Really puts a feeling of just how impossibly elemental the King of the Olympians truly is
It also kinda frames this as Zeus being "covert", as that war had the gods playing favorites, and Zeus would need to avoid wider attention when giving the "mission".
Also let’s the mind wonder to how the other gods inhabit the world, even what the war between the titans and olympians, like how did the war even look to us humans

That whole scene with Penelope on the other side of the cradle representing everything he has to lose but also the reason why he hesitates … amazing.

Yeah, the way Odysseus looks at her as he says "I'll raise him as my own" as if he immediatly wants to tell his wife too that he wants to adopt a new son.
I love how the voice of Zeus is dark and imposing just up until "The blood on your hands is something you won't lose", where the voice suddenly gets almost sweet. Almost as If even the King of the Gods pities Odysseus for the decision that he's forced to make

I love all these depictions of Zeus in this song. He either appears there, as an apparition, as a formation of clouds or as you've shown here an animal but whenever lightning strikes his form is shown in the clouds as a shadowy figure.
Oh God. Penelope reacting to the baby as if its also so precious in her eyes just made me cry into a puddle. Because it is precious, babies especially as a parent are precious and SHOULD be protected and now Odysseus is haunted. huhuuh
Seeing Zeus as just an eagle throughout this instead of seeing his face appear somehow is really creative. The gods are well known to appear in front of people as all sorts of things, especially Zeus to his many many "lovers". Also I can't help but feel like Penelope appearing there on the other side of the cradle for so long was Zeus just fucking with Odysseus by making her appear there and linger that long, which I really liked the idea of actually. The gods would not be above something like that.
That look in Odysseus eyes when he sees Penelope's smile and flashes back to his memories with her, this mixture of not wanting to lose her but also not wanting to do something so awful, I love it so much
I love how when Odysseus at the end you can tell he is heartbroken from the choice he has to make because he doesn't want to kill the child he's even willing to adopt him as his own so that prince hector's kid may live happily but in the end it wasn't his decision but the fates choice
THE FACT THE ENDING IS INSPIRED BY THE SHOT OF RAMSES MOURNING OVER HIS SON IN THE PRINCE OF EGYPT .....I AM SO NOT OKAY!! 😭😭😭

what kind of baby has that deep of a cry 😭 i’m almost certain that’s Odysseus screaming in a future where he was killed, not the infant
god, the emotion on Odyseus’s face is so good, and i also want to point out the FIGHTING SCENE??? like DAMN that was done so well, and i know for a fact they’re so difficult, i love the dynamic poses and how he’s fighting *dirty*, slicing the back of his opponent’s knees isn’t necessarily an honorable tactic but it is one a warrior of the mind would use.
I'm *obsessed* with how you drew Zeus! The fact that his more human form only showed up when there was lightning, perfect for the God of the sky and _thunder._ How the eagle led him to the room was so great! He's walking through this house, doesn't know where exactly to go but trusts Zeus to lead him where this awful foe is waiting. And then when he sees that it's a baby, he also sees a ghost like figure of Penelope being maternal with the boy who will grow to an avenger. Sees how sweet she is as a person while getting the threat that if he doesn't kill the baby his wife will be killed. Zeus really twisting the knife on that one lol.
I could go on with other things I loved, but the comment would get really long.

This is amazing in so many ways but I just wanna call out this is the first version I've seen that has 'little Ajax will stay back' still have Ajax as the absolute madlad he was even as a youth in the story.
Everything about this was so fucking good, the fighting animation, the emotions when he realized he did in fact have to kill the baby and the way you didn’t show Zeus’s form but alluded to it being too magnificent. 😭😭
I screamed when I realized this was the finished version of the epicness I watched the other day.
Kinda weird seeing "little Ajax" or Ajax the lesser being portrayed as cute here knowing what he actually does in the myth 😅
UGH I LOVE THIS ANIMATION SO MUCH BEST ONE IVE SEEN YET. LOVE HOW ZEUS IS AN EAGLE AS HIS TRUE FORM AND HOW PENELOPE SHOWS UP TO PICK UP THE BABY AS IF IT WAS TELEMACUS
DAMN, the amount of details on this animatic is off the charts! The way you should clips of just what the other did when Odysseus ordered them is pristine. Your depiction of the horse, the invasion of Troy, Zeus leading Odysseus to the Infant's room and the foreshadowing of the 'Enemy'. IT. WAS. ALL. AMAZING. The scene of Odysseus where the angles circles him and his expression as Zeus gets him to kill the infant and finally the Last line where Penelope looks Odysseus in the eyes with her holding her cheek with the line "all I can choose is whose'. Honestly the best animatic The Horse and the Infant!! Thank you for investing so much of your time in this animatic

Words cannot express how much I love this animatic! Everything is so well thought through. I love how you cut to the cloak and dagger tactics of the soldiers as Odysseus gives his speech to the men and then explains what they'll do. Little Ajax's mischief is just *chef's kiss* (plus Teucer's reaction😂). The way you suggest the form of Zeus while also making clear that the Eagle is his stand in. The shots and flashbacks of Penelope and Telemachus perfectly sell us on why this decision is just so hard for him (which is saying something because we could already buy that killing a literal baby is something no one should want to do). Chef's kisses and gold stars everywhere.
The way penelope is shown carressing the boy and holding her own son.
THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE ones that had great ideas in. I honestly believe if all these animators work together like hosting discussions to ensure that they can agree on making an animatic/animation (no clash of creative direction) of the musical together would be an awesome thing.
This is the best one i have seen so far. As many people have already said, the presentation of Zeus was fab and I loved the omen with the eagle and the serpent, the mythological accuracy is giving me life.
Also, the detail in this is incredible. I love how you actually showed so much of the battle and fighting, and seeing them kill like is described in Homeric epics makes me so happy.
Last thing, the last 2 minutes or so were perfect (the whole thing was perfect) but the way he stopped at Hector and Andromache's portrait was amazing, and then having him see Penelope and Telemachus standing above Astyanax as a visual representation of his options makes his desicion seem so much harder and more poignant.
Overall, incredible job, 10/10 would recommend.

This is so amazing, goodness! I abso loved Zeus' intro, and how he never really became there, but you can totally feel his presence. And then the Hector is in the cloud, just the whole thing is -chefskiss-
This is easily my favourite animatic for the Horse and the Infant. The tension, the cinematography, the way you manage to manage to match the 'cameras' movements to the beat really make this animatic striking to a degree I've rarely experienced animatic before.
I can't help but keep rewinding the part around 2:52, it's just so stunning and really drives in how impactful the scene is

I especially loved the scene where Odysseus jumps off the wall and where he gets those romantic flashbacks of Penelope. Absolute lovely idea. And ofc the way you "portray" Zeus, that he is not embodied by a specific human Form just makes him seem so much superior and godly. Yes, there comes this voice, and Odysseus knows its a vision and it IS the will of the gods. So powerful and mighty he cannot disobey.

This is my favorite animatic of this song! Everything is perfect here! Seriously, the character designs and every decision are just perfect! I wish I could see a video from you for other songs))
Even though the art in this is not as great as other animatics and does not utilize colors to set the scenes like others, but the animators ability to show clear easy to the eye scenes, express as much emotion in every scene as possible, has smooth transitions between different frames and scenes that constantly cause eye movement & and has great video production qualities like making great use of framing and perspectives that I have never seen in ANYTHING other than this.
This is a totally 100% underrated.

Also, the art takes great care of how entire scenes are, and that they look great and give a great idea about what’s inside the song, instead of just having good character drawings.
THIS SO GOOD PARDON ME??? The cinematography here is amazing, i absolutely love the dynamism of the fight (the introduction of the warriors is so fun and odysseus jumping into the battle and the whole choreography from 1:34 feel straight out of an anime) VS the divine intervention (amazing work on the values, everything fading to black from 1:50 until 2:28 as he enters the brightly lit chamber), Zeus being so damn ominous and only being seen through lightning is such a good representation of a god, the camera movement and lighting at 3:16 are so dramatic and intense, etc etc I'd have so much to say but you get it, this is a bloody amazing animatic and I think I've fallen in love with your work
Suprisingly enough, this isn't the first animatic/music video I have seen for this song...But it is the first that made me tear up. And I can't even tell you why.

Ive been obsessed with Epic animatics lately and i gotta say, this is probably the best one I've seen until now. Really amazing, the action scenes are fantastic, Odysseus jumping down the walls, Zeus in the clouds looking ominous and mysterious, the "camera work" is breathtaking. Truly an amazing job, keep it up

I love how all of the animatics for this song has camera spins and such for the infant part.
Its too good. I’m not sure which part is my favorite but the best scene is when Zeus disguise as a falcon and telling Odysseus to kill the baby even though he’s hesitant at glance. Not to mention seeing an image of his wife sitting across from him is eye bawling.
