2008 BMW X5 (E90) Footwell Module (FRM) Replacement | HOW TO | TUTORIAL

Hello Everyone! Today I am showing you how to replace the Footwell Module (FRM) in a 2008 BMW X5 (E90 Series). This applies to 2007 - 2013 BMW X5's and maybe more, idk.
If your headlights, interior lights, windows and mirror adjustment all stop working, then this is your problem! I ordered the module off of eBay but it's pretty easy to find one. If you need help finding one, just leave a comment and I'll help you out. I hope the video helps someone!

Thanks for the video. Having an issue with our E90 where the brake lights and running lights stay on after turning the car off. Searching online, numerous people say its likely this FRM. Going to take it out and check the connectors for corrosion as the sunroof drains leaked a few times recently. Your used one off ebay still working good? Trying to decide between a used ebay vs new one if I have to replace.

After replacing the footwell module, does the car just automatically recognize and sync to the new module, or do you have to reprogram the car for the new module?

The car automatically recognized it. It was a used module that I replaced it with

When you reinstalled the module did you reconnect battery 1st?

I plugged in the module and put everything back together. Then I connected to battery and tried it out.

You don't have to take the battery out, just disconnect one of the terminals. Connect it back as the last step
