  • This isn't my idea but it works well and I'll let the vid speak for itself. Tomorrow I will post video 2, of how to make a Timber/Ply Detachable crate for your rear carrier. Feel free to ask any questions 😉🚲

Thought of a good idea to add to your design. Put 2 latches on the bottom of the wood and you wouldnt need the bungie straps. The latches would slide between the pieces of wood and hold them snug against the rack.

I just used this method but instead of zip ties I used screws with big washers. Thank you.

Put the wood blocks in like you have but instead of the straps simply measure another bit wood length of the two blocks and bolt underside wood to the two top wood blocks to lock it in place solid no straps need and less chance of movement of crate

Voille straps are stronger and simpler to install and remove. Cheaper too.

Real nice set up, I'd do it but my bike is 50 years old, old racks are built different. Gives me a few ideas for how to rig my own, though.

I need help: I have an Ibera rear bicycle rack and I am needing a solution how to build a base foundation for a 19" x 13" milk crate to securely fit onto my rear rack... any ideas?

Is that a special attachment near the bottom where the bungee hook attaches?

no mate, they are simply hook attachemments that come with this brand of rack. Really good idea-handy.. and for once it's an extra thing I DIDN'T have to buy!
