They love Peter Phillips and Zara in Australia. Two people that have obviously done well, but seem so content in their roles within the RF. Princess Anne is an absolute gem of a woman, and deserves more recognition for her efforts within the family. They say she's the hardest working royal behind our beloved Queen, so that's quite a call, and looks to be exactly right.

Peter Phillips has played a big part in organizing the pagentry and events for two Royal Jubilees. He is an excellent event organizer/ orchestrator.Like Princess Anne he makes his contribution in a way which is not showy or attention grabbing. As the Queen's eldest Grandchild his place is in that procession and I don't believe he was there as a buffer to anyone.
It was Peter's calm stoic nature during both his grandmother and grandfather's funeral that really impressed me.
If you were surprised to see Peter Phillips beside William and Harry, you must be pretty clueless. He is the eldest grandchild, could have had a title but Anne decided not to have her children titled since they were not in direct line to the throne. It is not all about titles, it is who you are in the family. Peter Phillips also walked in line with William and Harry at the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral.
He is the first born grandchild. He has every right to be there. He has no Title, he does not demand or expect. Very gracious man, but then again he has a wonderful, hardworking Mother. A perfect role model. Its a pity his Cousin, from across the pond cannot show as much dignity, instead of arrogant entitlement.

He didn’t get a title because Anne did not want this for her children. She wanted them to have a life different than her own, who was never going to have the crown, but who was expected to carry out royal duties. She did it, but didn’t want it for her children, and that’s exactly how it has worked out for them. Good for her and them.

You are mistaken. Titles pass down through the male children of the monarch. Princess Margaret, a daughter of a king, had two children without royal titles. Princess Mary, daughter of George V,also had two children who did not have titles. This has always been the case. Anne did not refuse titles for her children because none were offered. However, her husband did refuse a title. Not a royal title, though. He would have been a non-royal Duke, Earlor Lord. Any other questions?

You’re right in one respect, they wouldn’t have automatically received a title, but Prince Andrew’s daughters (Beatrice and Eugenie) are both princesses as the Queen gave them the titles and although the Queen would have done the same for Anne’s children, Anne didn’t want titles for her children.

@@paularubin4711 The King is a perfectionist, that is part of his personal code. Clearly he is under a great deal of pressure, his staff should have anticipated that the table was too small for him to sign large documents. He has the right to be mildly irritated, which is all that it was.
If you look at how as the Duke of Cornwall he administered the Duchy, he was very hands on and detailed on how it was run. He made it more financially viable through his stewardship.
Maybe if he had had to walk behind his mother's coffin infront of the whole world, age 8, without being able to show any emotion. He might not be so perfect. Even though up to the funeral you never knew him.

People act like Peter disappeared to go live under a bridge somewhere. He is set to inherit from his mother’s estate, likely inherited something from the queen, has the unique status as the queens eldest grandchild which likely carries weight within the family and intimate social circles, and he was close to the Queen. People talk like Peter went off the rails to become a school janitor because he didn’t get a title. He’s a blood royal and he’s a prince in all but name.

For those who gripe and assume, Princess Anne requested that the Queen NOT give her children titles. She wanted them to live a regular life.
It's not surprising that Peter was there. He is a male member of the family. As a grandchild, a close relation to the Queen, it's traditional for him to have been part of this precession. The unusual part of this procession was his mother being a part of it, since its traditionally a male only thing.

I think that is a very outdated idea. I was pleased to see that both Anne and the female grandchildren were able to participate in honoring the Queen and not just the males.

Not surprising at all. Princess Anne decided she didn’t want her children to have titles when she was married to Mark Phillips. It should be remembered that this was a family as well as a State funeral and, as Queen Elizabeth’s eldest grandchild, it was entirely appropriate for him to walk alongside Princes William & Harry. He has his own career and is probably very happy to remain in the background and avoid most of the public scrutiny inflicted on other members of the family.

He isn't a Prince because he is a grandson from a female heir line and not male heir line. They don't give out titles to everyone there are certain rules that need to be followed.
Edit - No she turned down other titles but her children were never going to get the Prince and Princess title. The one who turned down the Prince and Princess title was Edward for his children as he is a male heir and his children are direct grandchildren of monarch hence can have the prince and princess title.

for those wondering why he doesn't have the title of "Prince" despite being a grand child of the monarch, it's all because of male primogeniture. Despite being the 2nd oldest of the Queen's 4 children, Princess Anne's position in the line of succession was displaced by her younger brothers and their children, and considering that she has 3 brothers, with Charles already having 2 sons of his own, the likelihood of Anne ever becoming Queen is very slim, so there is no point in giving her children the titles of Prince and Princess, same can be said for her youngest brother Edward. Considering that he already has 2 older brothers with children, the likelihood of him becoming King is just as slim, but because it's a bit higher up than Anne, his kids are given royal titles.
