  • In this video, we'll be looking at the Allen-Bradley Servo in detail, and learning about how it works and how it can be used for ball screw applications.
This Servo is a key component in a number of industrial applications, and understanding its movement is essential for anyone looking to use it correctly. In this video, we'll cover all the basics of the Servo, and explain how it works in detail!
Using an Allen-Bradley Servo motor connected to a 5mm pitch ball screw to show how an incremental move and an absolute move work.
I am going to get a better camera to show more detials in the furture, however at this time I feel that you can get a clearn understanding a a direct coupled load to a ball screw.

Thanks, luckily found all the parts off of Ebay and they were in good working order.
We never know with electronics from eBay.

    hi
May I know how to release the servo brake so we can use hand to rotate the ball screw manually for troubleshoot. Mine is kinetix 5700
    Thanks a lot

You need to wire a 24vdc source to the brake to be able to release it.
Otherwise, the brake is controlled based on movement.
This also depends on what Kinetix servo you are running.
In the Kinetix 5500 or 5700 I believe you can write a parameter to control the brake on and off

can I use the Servo direct command to release the brake?

I have tried to use MSF command , but the brake is still engaged

@@KenSiang-qd6cl again, this is dependant on several things, it could be your system design like a hard wired brake circuit for example.
If it isn't hardwired then it should turn off and turn on depending on running or not running
With the natural position being brake on when no power.
Meaning to release the brake you need to apply power to the coil.
      If no power, no movement.

@@KenSiang-qd6cl yes, when the system runs then it should release the brake if the brake is healthy
