North Central College Women's Wrestling - 2022-2023 Season in Review

North Central College women's wrestling national champions Yelena Makoyed '23, Jaslynn Gallegos '24 and Maddie Avila '26, along with head coach Joe Norton '10/M '13, recap the Cardinals' 2022-2023 campaign.
The Cardinals won the team trophy at the all-divisions National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championship (NCWWC) in March, finishing first in a field of 37 teams at Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. North Central was named the Scholar Team National Champion by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) for having the highest team grade-point average in the nation.
