Larry Mitchell
He was born in New York Queens in 1964.
And began to play a toy guitar at 2 years old and made a band at 13 years old.
As a pure instrumental group without a vocal, he play original guitar sound. - Hudba
My first real Guitar teacher and a friend. Larry is one of the best to ever do it. He was a mentor. I wish I could go back to this time. I used to go to his house on Saturdays and sit with him for hours and just basically bring lunch. He taught me about playing and performing.
Such incredible and tasteful music. It's a damn shame more people don't know about him.
+Chord TheSeeker I know he's amazing. Definitely my favourite along with randy rhoads.
He's my friends friend and we talk to him on my channel all the time.
I guess it's kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
This guy should be on a G3 tour!
Yeah, he sounds similar to Tosin Abasi with a mix of Eric Johnson.
Great show! Larry's tone, phrasing and playing were excellent!!!
I have discovered this guy only today!?!
i discovered him over tge weekend , live in Marshall ,texas , amazing .
He been RIPPING up the New York City music scene since the Mid Eighties one of the group's he played in was The Rhythm Team founded by Drummer and vocalist extraordinaire Steve Missal( yes The Drummer on Billy Idol's the White wedding and Album if memory serves me correctly Larry would go on Tour a few years later on with the Likes of Rick Ocaseck ,Tracy Chapman, as well as at the Time being endorsed by Ibanez and still continues to write ,produce, tour,
5 years later you are still a legend larry you live forever
Just think of all the guitar players who never really heard of this guy that went to the show not knowing what they were in for. I bet they left there speechless, and thought about what they saw for days
Or gave up playing.
Seeing Larry at a local club tonight. He plays there often as a guest musician with friends in local bands. He is doing a solo gig there in September. Really nice guy as well as a guitar master. He moved here to take care of his mom. I am proud to call him a friend. He likes my dancing almost as much as I love his playing. First time I heard him play live I raced his playing with my footwork. I will never forget the big grin form on his face as I danced. Since I can only dance as well as the musicians play I was at my best that night.
Why have I never heard this cat? Thanks You Tube for sharing him…
Check out his guitar lessons. Very cool!
I was at this show, and countless others where Larry played. The late Gordon Gaines was also an unknown gem of a player in NYC during those days.
Gordon was That Dude
boo steve vai, for not telling us you were bringing a legend on tour with you!
😂 bro. I know. I love Steve Vai, had never heard of Larry Mitchell. I saw them at the Pageant in STL, and Larry stole the show for me. I have been non stop listening to him, and learning his licks ever since.
Incredible underated guitarist
Crazy the talent that gets left in obscurity. This is badass. 👍
This guy rocks,he is so great, much better than the well known guitar players, cool songs
And..... He's self taught.... Larry Mitchell is beyond gifted
Larry Mitchell is virtuoso guitarist so is the drummer Yves Gerard!
Amazing guitar playing that's all I have to say.
Larry is always my fave Guitar player
Kathryn and I are so thrilled to attend Larry’s Birthday with his friends and family at The Heritage House in Opelika, AL His spiritual gifts equal his astonishing musical talents.
Larry's Fantastic
Larry is amazing! Watched him often in the early 1980’s, and great guy too! I know he worked hard, played with Beck and Billy Squire in NYC. Go Larry!
Can't believe lm just getting around to listening to this guy. I used to see him in ads in guitar magazines and figured he was just another shredder My loss He's smokin
i love how he is enjoying playing. his face show always happiness...
Larry is a Gem !!!!!
thats badass he made it sound like a siren during the intro
wonderful guitar and bassist is also incredble with groovy
This dude is nasty. Definitely should be on the 100 greatest guitarist list.
I like his guitar tone
Awesome!
He really does remind me of Shawn Lane .................. RIP big guy, we still miss you

Killin it from tha stage!!
Happy Birthday Larry 🙂
Now this is the sort of stuff I'd pay to see!
Larry is amazing!!!!
This guy is just omg!!!
Man, this takes me back - I had his REH video back in the day. Great player, huge hands and his tone on that debut album was absolutely to die for. Think he used Hartke speakers and a Rocktron preamp for a while, but it's been a while since I last saw the video, so I'm not 100% sure.
I do remember he picked up that 540 by the bar and made it scream.......great energy and enthusiasm.
thank you so much!!!! 5 stars!!!
I was listening to Beethovens 7th movement 2 before this tune. CZcams is so wonderful.
amazing sound and show
Wonderful guitar...great band.

Beauty touch
Interesting watch. Haven't heard him before. Very well played. Larry Mitchell is great with melody and dynamics. Not as precise or technical as the absolute best players but for 1991 he was notably very good. How is he not more known? I have been fortunate to tech help some amazing domestic guitarists so it's kinda unfair since I've witnessed even better guitar playing up close, so I won't say this was the best I've seen or anything. What really matters with this performance is the music of the trio and the tightness of their performance. I found myself closely watching and listening to the bassist and drummer as they complemented the guitar masterfully tight and heavy. Overall a very good concert.
Proof that 3000 notes per second isn't everything
April Cox - Agreed, because what you say is more important than how fast you say it!
yet people revere kirk hammet lol this guy SLAYS!!!!
Great jamming! I love it.
Un talento increible!, nunca los encontramos, pero cuando se ven se notan!
way toooooo goooood
Awesome. This was recorded in 1991 and I've heard Steve Vai licks from later years that sound a lot like Larry. I really think Steve borrowed some riffs from this great player.
agreed
If Chris Rock was a Guitar Virtuoso...that's how he would've look like..Great Player here and Nice display of talent

"God Particle "
I’m going to say that the music industry is so Color Blind that it’s a damn shame!! I’m a 69 year veteran not only war but a warrior lover of drumming music of all genres! Yeah being Brother is a great challenge but to all the brothers keep ROCK IN YOUR HEARTS
Larry Mitchell is the real deal, im mean its a great trio but Larry Mitchell is a blast to watch and hear , i was on the phone and i just pulled up to an outside gig and he started playing , i said who is that , it was him by his self, wow.
BS. You are just fuling the hate. Have some love for yourself.
eric johnson's long lost brother?
Why?
Victor Hugo maybe because his lead guitar tone similar with Eric's
Anyone got the name of the white Ibanez he uses?
I think its the JS Series. Looks like the same body as Joe Satriani's style of guitars.
I think it was also a signature guitar for another player besides joe, the dude that played in chic korea. Jazz fusion something.
Ibanez 540R LTD, long before the JS series. The 540R, also referred to as a Radius, would later become the basis for the JS signature models. Frank Gambale (Chick Corea’s Elektric Band) played a 540S, completely different model that later became his FGM signature model.
about 31 mins. in you got to let the drummer go , rock on bro
Quem não gosta tá lelé da cuca!
not bad.
I never knew there was a black Eric Johnson
I studied with Larry when I was 14. He was the first person to turn me onto Eric Johnson.
Eddie Murphy can play a mean guitar!
Eddie Murphy can actually play guitar too. Don't think he has Larry's chops though.
woah ,thats Larry Mitchell this man is the real deal.
he looks a lot like Chris Rock here
I can see Dave Chappelle doing a parody of this guy.
Or eddy Murphy
Looks like none of he men mentioned...
I kept seeing Micheal Winslow
bass player makes me feel uncomfortable, like the bass is so small and he has it so high up. amazing player just looks SO weird lol
looks literally normal
He's Fab great groove 🙂
It does look a tad small.
Arsênio Hall is that you? 😮😅
this shredders guitar gods age lasted exactly ten years ...
