    Cool video, as a pro we are using an 8GPM Pressure Washer, I could knock out both panels in less than a minute by wand. And with a surface cleaner maybe half a minute. It depends on the machine and experience honestly. One of our coworkers has been doing pressure washing for almost 20 years and he can work as quick as using the surface cleaner by wand. Makes fun of us if we use it at times rather than wanding! I prefer the wand since it doesn’t leave the “striping” some guys who use surface cleaners 24/7 with their companies deal with or encounter. It just looks unprofessional in my opinion even if you get away with cleaning the concrete better, you can still see the lines if you look closely. But again, I’m a pro and I have an Eagle’s eye whether a driveway was done with a wand or surface cleaned. No hiding the lines. Great video however!

      Thanks for taking the time to comment! I can only imagine how fast an 8GPM pressure washer would work - talk about fun!

      I have a 2200psi 3GPM pressure washer, which is by no means a big pressure washer, but it looks like I have many times the water flow you have with that tiny one. I just got a commercial rotary (turbo) nozzle for it. It's pretty fast, and a lot cheaper than a surface cleaner, and a lot smaller to store too.

    Great video! I like the surface cleaner for wide open spaces an the wand for edging

    Surface cleaners take a certain pace and touch. I own a pressure washing company in south Florida. We run 20” surface cleaners, and they definitely save us a ton of time. Also, to avoid striping avoid overlapping your lines. We make one pass forward one back for each section to clean up any swirls we may have left.

    I saw a new model that can be used for both cleaning floors and washing underchassis. "EVEAGE Upgrade 2-in-1 Undercarriage & Pressure Washer Surface Cleaner...", have you tried this one? how does it work?

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike  Před rokem

      I have never tried that one. If you end up buying it, let me know how well it works. I still use the one in the video and it has been working well!

    I was just considering purchasing a surface cleaner. I love power washing but we have a lot of concrete between the garage and shop. It just seems to me that it would cover a lot more surface faster using the attachment but I am a ridiculous stickler for getting all the stuff off the concrete so I could understand going back and touching up the missed places. I use a 3700 PSI/4.0 GPM rig. Any suggestions for a good attachment would be appreciated. Thanks for the video--very well done!

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for taking the time to comment! The 3700 PSI/4.0 GPM rig will be far better and faster than the one that I used in the video - I wish I had one that powerful! I am like you and really and a stickler to make sure I get it all clean. I am definitely not an expert but looking through Amazon for a few minutes this pressure washer gets some good reviews and is returnable. You may need to decrease the water pressure a bit since it is only rated at 3.7 GPM. amzn.to/2V8RlSE

    I’m just getting in to this stuff and still learning. So is it safe to say that a surface cleaner is not absolutely NEEDED to pressure wash but is just another method of doing it?

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike  Před 3 lety +2

      Correct, however it does go much faster and the cleaning is much more even. The wand cleans in a smaller spray pattern and can sometimes leave streaks where some of the cement is cleaner than others

    • @ThatDadMike

      This one is only 2700 PSI and about 2.5 GPM. It would get done so much faster if I had higher PSI and GPM.

    Could you use the 25 on the wand instead of the 40?

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike  Před rokem

      Great suggestion, you certainly could. I was afraid it would be too strong since the 40 was really not doing anything so did not try it.

    Try presoaking the concrete with Dawn and water before washing. Goes way faster.

    Unfortunately, I purchased the Karcher 15" Surface cleaner and just like many of the comments on amazon, it lasted about 5 minutes and the top and bottom nut came loose. I tried tightening it and it quickly came loose again. I have returned it and am purchasing the edou surface cleaner

      Thanks for the feedback - sorry to hear you had trouble with it. I have used mine over a dozen times this past year and it has worked well. I wonder if something changed in their manufacturing/QA process since I purchased mine?

    @A.Dude. Před 3 lety +1

    There are different ways to look at it... Some, me included, would value the fact that all the water is contained and you don't make a complete mess close to the working area, like cleaning the garage floor after winter time is over...

    I don't care what anyone says unless your on a hill they are not faster. All it is is 2 wands at a reduced volume and pressure moving fast. Just move your wand faster. You get a even clean with a wand and you don't lose time switching back and forth because if your not on a hill the dirt and water dries up before you rinse it off. Your forced to do smaller areas than you want esp it the summer with a clear sky.

  • @zachsheffee8458

    Most pressure washers with less than 4000 psi and 6 gallons per minute.
    You will be better off using a wand.
    Because you’ll end up with a whiter & more professionally cleaned driveway!

    Every video I watch on surface cleaners without wheels, people tend to push down on it like the bristles are supposed to do the cleaning. You can see them struggling to move it because of this. Don't push please. And slow down...
