@@declanmcroy the person making the video is spewing trash. This whole concept is retarded. Like you could do all this OR... PRACTICE HITTING THE TARGET. What was ever wrong with that, can he not do that right or???
I think this is still my favorite shooting video. The camera work, visceral speed and soundtrack work together for a cinematic effect that makes you want to start(or reignite) a journey of making yourself better. It matters that this was done well because I think it's where people get interested, and then the philosophy and political stuff gets them to think beyond the range. Well done, guys.
Was it tho? We didn't get to see the accuracy besides the few steel targets. He could have been shooting blanks for all we know right? Not saying he was, just saying that fast/cool/gucci shooting gets views and shares but is pointless without accountability...
This is a very lucid and straightforward explanation of a fundamental training concept. I especially like how you expand it to include ANY learning at the end of the video. I'm subscribing to your channel based on this--the first video of your's that I've seen. I hope to see more like this!
As much as I believe some of his drills are chaotic and based on speed only. He’s using a BCM mid-length that produces almost no recoil and I’m sure he’s using a super fast geissele trigger.

Stumbled upon your video by sheer chance, I learned something today, I was a dedicated martial artist and a swordsman with a very small background on firearms, I used to practice routinely for years, long story short it got stale and old really fast, and so I stopped after an injury, today I learned that my training was taking me nowhere, for I did not make mistakes, I did not miss, I did not change anything up... I thank you, I am all healed and will return to training.
He is literally an Instructor for the military. Unless you are SF, (which your fatty jowels on your profile pic indicate you are not) then Garand Thumb has probably FORGOTTEN more about shooting then you will ever know.
I’m new to the gun world . I currently own 6 guns and I take them to the range 1-2times a week. I’m getting faster and I’m working on recoil management. This video helps a ton. Thanks for dropping some knowledge. I know what I’m doing wrong now. Keep up the great work!
This information is truly valuable. Train hard and train smart. Thanks Lucas every technique you teach everyone on the Internet is very valuable information and will definitely be applied to the range and the real world.
Absolutely a life lesson, man. This philosophy applies to everything in life that you want to improve at and can afford to perform with a success rate of less than 100%, which is mostly everything. The name of the game is "find the weak point," whether you're working on shooting, or general life skills. This practice of pushing yourself and getting out of your comfort zone is the only best way to improve whatever skill you desire to improve from shooting to social interactions, from dating to professionalism, from studying to exercise. The comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing grows there. All of the most important change in life you'll ever achieve will come from varying degrees of challenges and difficult situations. Embrace difficult situations, but learn the art of doing so with the understanding that only giving up is a true failure. Everything else is progress, regardless of the degree to which that progress is visible in the immediate. I think it was Miyamoto Musashi who said "Know the way broadly and you will see it in everything." In other words- "in all things, small things," or "as above, so below."
Kaber Esplin There's also the factor, if I'm accurate, that Miculek seems to be more experienced with a large array of different firearms and Lucas , only from what I've seen on videos, seems to just shoot with semi auto pistols and AR variants.
I thought you where going to talk about leading your targets, cause when you lead a target you have to "miss" to hit it. Hope this makes sense. Good video man. Has your shooting improved since you filmed this?
I don't think that's quite the concept of leading a target... The concept is that your reticule is front of the target and moving along either with the target or doing so in increments whichever works for you, basically the reticule isn't "on target" because the said target is moving, "missing" is the in the sense your round never touched the target.
At 4:13 you had actually missed two at that point, as only 10 shots are in the circle, 1 out of the circle for 11 shots. 4 shots per round, times 3 rounds equals 12 shots. So you are missing one, entirely.

and Here we have an American Male. These are SUPA dangerous predators. Especially when they're hungry. They can become VERY aggressive creatures. If you watch carefully, when he snaps, you can see him reloading. Oh look at him go... He dont even know I'm here. He's so focused on hitting them targets hes oblivious to everything else. Would you look at that. Man what an AMAZING creature he is. This ones really been practicing. They really like their Glocks. and Beege beege guns! It's believed that they use the sound of a gun as a mating call. The bigger the gun the more attractive he becomes to the opposite sex. I'm going to pull a stunt here and see if we cant get a closer look. I have be very careful! These creatures are highly territorial. Put one unwelcome step on what they think is their territory and they wont hesitate to unload everything they got at cha! Wish me luck, mate!
let's poke 'em wiff a stick
FYI I'm an American male too. Its humbling to poke fun of yourself once in a while. =]
Australian here, I lost ma bloody shit trying to red this alon with the accent. fukin bloody perfect mate. good job with gettin the stops & comas right. hahaha. BTW My Accent is terrible but even readin this helped XD

Upon hours of views over here at NASA HQ. After examining your 1.8 seconds mis. I referred to my handgun pie chart from Google. And have determined that you flinched on your shot. We here at NASA do not believe that the 28° outdoor temperature excuse is sufficient enough to warrant such a reason for missing. LoL, great video as always and I love my friggin sidecar!!
Mason Boostrom what the actual fuck is your profile pic supposed to be
Mason Boostrom He *TYPED* fine, he was joking anyways.
3 thirty 6 why would people with knowledge of rockets and other aviating things be worried aboute the degree in which he flinched .-.
3 thirty 6 "here at NASA all we care about is if people flinched or not while shooting a gun". "We dont give a shit about trying to go to mars."
Michael Filippi "Here at NASA, we've shut down the space exploration program due to lack of government funding. Here at NASA, all the government really wanted to do was get to the moon first and that was that."

Need more videos like this from T. rex arms. This is literally spot on for absolutely anything in life. Knowing your limits and slowly but surely pushing yourself.
"make the target smaller so its more challenging so you can improve" you are welcome.
I can tell you are not police or miltary. You always train with a proper human target so you can identify distance without a range apparatus.
James actually he’s right. Training with a smaller target helps a lot when it comes to accuracy. Not the trash this guy is spewing
TheSaltyGrunt Who spewing trash, Trex Arms? You didn’t even watch the video or you would have heard him say that one way to improve us to make your target smaller...
Hater!
@@declanmcroy the person making the video is spewing trash. This whole concept is retarded. Like you could do all this OR... PRACTICE HITTING THE TARGET. What was ever wrong with that, can he not do that right or???
Sort of like motocross racing. If you're not crashing in practice, you're not going fast enough.

Betcha 90% of cops don't handle a glock that well :D
ReKLaW01 lol they don't at all
But to be fair some do
Well no shit lol this guy literally shoots for a living.
Thomas Cantrell right, silly me. Cops just carry a glock for a living they don't need to actually use them or practice at the range ever.
ReKLaW01 depends on the cop
ReKLaW01 obviously you’ve never walked the thin blue line
I think this is still my favorite shooting video. The camera work, visceral speed and soundtrack work together for a cinematic effect that makes you want to start(or reignite) a journey of making yourself better. It matters that this was done well because I think it's where people get interested, and then the philosophy and political stuff gets them to think beyond the range. Well done, guys.
Badass second half of this vid!!
KILL FLOYD
Second half was awesome ...no joke.. His finger could outrun a full auto on that Ar.
Understatement.
This guy needs to be teaching our soldiers how to fight- on some REAL shit.
Was it tho? We didn't get to see the accuracy besides the few steel targets. He could have been shooting blanks for all we know right? Not saying he was, just saying that fast/cool/gucci shooting gets views and shares but is pointless without accountability...
Aand if you were to do your research you would find that he and his accuracy is no joke...
This is a very lucid and straightforward explanation of a fundamental training concept. I especially like how you expand it to include ANY learning at the end of the video.
I'm subscribing to your channel based on this--the first video of your's that I've seen. I hope to see more like this!

5:39 cheats confirmed , full auto macro and no recoil !
Lord X, at the beginning I think so, but later I realized that Lucas is doing almost the same speed with the handgun too in the next frames.
@@ivanminchev1911 AR was about 600 RPM , and handgun about 400 RPM , not same at all ...
As much as I believe some of his drills are chaotic and based on speed only. He’s using a BCM mid-length that produces almost no recoil and I’m sure he’s using a super fast geissele trigger.

Lucas thanks a lot you motivate me to train. I am a police officer and the extra training helps in stressful conditions. You should offer classes.
Hoping to offer some courses this year. And I’m scheduled to help some departments out already
This is pretty much something you should follow in life if you care about what you do and want to get better at it. It applies to everything
In other words, don't get into a gunfight with this guy.
Original American why not?just put his gun on airplane mode
Garand thumb mentality " it's how you look not how you shoot"
Lucas Botkin mentality " it's how you shoot not how you look"
Ryan Snow wouldn’t GT’s mentality be “no matter how you shoot, look cool doing it”?
True, Lucas is one dorky looking dude but there's no doubt he can shoot.
You understand that just a joke by GarandTumb right?
12Avoid it may be a joke, but the amount of money he spends on unnecessary Tactical gear isn’t

This is the type of guy you would want in your Team when the Zombie apocalypse happens
People worried about zombies. It's regular humans that will be a real threat. The average police department could deal with a zombie outbreak.
I think it was Miyamoto Musashi who said "Know the way broadly and you will see it in everything."
In other words- "in all things, small things," or "as above, so below."
I want to see a DNA test to prove this guy isn't Jerry Miculek's son.
AKBuilder762 yo i was thinking to myself that this guy will be the next Mikulek someday if he isn't already. Shit maybe even better
BOLO 4gunsNgear he is better, just being younger. But young Jerry vs him now that would be a race.
Kaber Esplin There's also the factor, if I'm accurate, that Miculek seems to be more experienced with a large array of different firearms and Lucas , only from what I've seen on videos, seems to just shoot with semi auto pistols and AR variants.
And Miculek seems to perform really good with everything I have seen him touch
As an old Chem dog, the glimpse of you training with a gas mask made me smile.
Good advice for development of any skill. Good attitude towards life in general.
10/10 keep it up, mate.
Why u should miss?
U purposely miss your shot sometimes so your opponent doesn't suspect you for using aimbot?
Push yourself till failure
Good advice for anything you want to improve at!
Came for the aimbot comments.
Leaving satisfied.
@@NarutoMagicCyclops ya I kno. But it still trips me out when I hit a moving target and I was aiming at dirt in front of the target.
@@professored7169 Aye, that's pry a bit of help from wind drift too.
At 4:13 you had actually missed two at that point, as only 10 shots are in the circle, 1 out of the circle for 11 shots. 4 shots per round, times 3 rounds equals 12 shots. So you are missing one, entirely.
Br0ken nice. I wasn’t the only one to catch that either. Looks like everyone else missed though 😂😂
The second miss is up by the second time, first round.
