What an awesome video J.C.! Peter is such a great teacher and you can tell he really cares about his trade, and wants to pass on his knowledge to others. Pretty slick the welder can switch between setting just by pulling the trigger. Not only is that convenient, but I’d imagine a huge time saver as well. Looking forward to the frame splice video. Take care👍

Awesome work and that's a great session of training. I am glad that our salesman told us up front- with the extra intensity and radiation from the pulse welder, absolutely no welding in a T-shirt anymore. Mandatory welding jacket to help shield out that light better from your skin. Those pulse machines are no joke!!

Glad you had this opportunity. Get yourself one of those small notepads that farmers always had in their brest pocket. Keep notes on settings for a given process. When you move into machines with this many settings it's easy to get lost. You just need some anchor points to know where to start from. Leave the notepad inside the welder.

Try taping a piece of leather or cloth on the back of that hood. Helps with that annoying glare when the hood is down. If you tend to weld alot get another hood. Those are too heavy on your neck. Also headgear ratchet gear wears out and tends to fall down in the up position.

1 thing I want to mention. Long welds like that liner I would start center weld about 6 to 10 inches, then back step alternating sides of the center weld. Above all frame material is normally higher strength and should be preheated 125 but not over 300, and slow cool rate with blankets. It will produce high strength high ductile weld joint.

Even then I would have been concerned, I've seen large I beams and 1" plate warped! but overall I think they came out very well! Trying to control warping and heat input is half the battle on something like that. A trick to help draw it back is to heat The opposite side with a rosebud or large tip and let it cool. The metal expands when heated but contracts more than it expands when it cools...
