First Idaho was first killed in Dune, not Dune Messiah. A Ghola of him, named Hayt, in Dune Messiah, where he regained his memories near the end of that book. This Ghola was killed again in Children of Dune and from then only a new Ghola of Idaho would be created for the next 3000-plus years, but only with the origin's memories until much later when a Ghola is made with the original's and all other Ghola's DNA which allowed this last Ghola to have over 3000 years of memories. It is never explained how this happened. From the first Ghola onward they were also trained to be Mentats which he did NOT have in his first life.
@@jasonworlock5113 casting Momoa as Idaho was a mistake. Momoa would've made a great Gurney Halleck. Jet Li or another average sized actor would have been more accurate to the books.
No he wasn't, he can't act to save his life and just reading the novels doesn't make him a good Duncan. I've read all the books but it doesn't mean I'd be good at playing the most important character after Paul and Leto the Second
I've watched several Dune movies, etc and Jason Momoa was the best Duncan Idaho, not only his physicality but also his emotional appeal and range Dune Messiah if well created will expand on his depth of character as he struggles thru his conflict of Hayt vs Duncan Idaho I can't imagine anyone else playing Duncan ,other than JM 🌟🌟🌟💜
With all due respect to Mx Mamoa's past career, in the day and age where this is a "stunning and brave" take on a LEGENDARY CHARACTER..... Shouldn he now be rushing to Roman Reigns' rescue in the WWE....??
So, an actor who would have been better cast as Gurney Halleck, Warrior Troubadour, a "great Hulk of a man", gets a role that, say Jet Li, or any other average sized man, like ANY other actor would have been better suited for the role, Jason Momoa is the wrong size, as described, by Frank Herbert in the novels.
I really wish they hadn't cast that meat head as Duncan Idaho considering how important the character really is. The only thing that dude can do/act is stare into the camera and look tough and arrogant
Wow! I don't know where to start. If you're interested in the Duncan Idaho character, don't watch this video. So much of what is said is strangely not from the Dune books. I had to stop watching when he says that Duncan Idaho possess the ability to die and be reborn again. That's not what happens. He is cloned - made into a ghola, and then Paul, and later Leto the God Emperor, bring out the memories from his prior life/lives that are locked away in his cells. It's not an ability he possess. There's a lot more that I could take issue with, but what for. Just don't watch this garbage.
It's ironic, that eventually Duncan becomes ultimate being
Why is it ironic that a street urchin could become the Quizatz haderach made by a God Emperor?
I really liked that Jason changed facial hair in the movie. Long/mid/none.
Really cool.
With All his problems, he's prolly the most important person in the books. Well, each time he reappeared...

I’m glad you said it cause I was about to rip this video apart
This video seems like it was created by an ai. They just keep saying the same stuff over and over without giving any actual insights. Disappointed.
What Makes it all worst is that Duncan Idaho is a great character and this video screws that up.
Haha!! We got a bot botsplaining to us badly about gholas!! 🤣 anyone see the irony. 🤦🏽♂

Jason Mamoa actually read the novel hence why he was really good at portraying the role.

The original Idaho in the first Dune novel was unmodified though...he just hated Harkonnens a lot
I never noticed Mamoa has a lazy eye until his portrayal of Idaho, which he does masterfully btw!

Duncan Idaho was portraitEd much better in the recent Dune. Oh wow, i had no idea he is able to be resurrected . I hope he is alive in the sequel
Not this one, but Dune Messiah he will back and then never really leaves the Dune story until the end.
Have you not read the novels?
BLR has a great Dune 2021 video
Its a great name for a magneto ripoff with the power to control potatoes and anything starch related
Master Swordmaster. ATM Machine
10,000 years in the future and they got guys named "Duncan Idaho" running around?
Theres a lot of weird names in Dune, keep the heroes simple.👍🏽
Not owned by Disney. Yet..
I don't believe we will EVER have to worry about that.

Thorough and engaging. A very Manly video.😎👍🏾
I’m surprised 40k hasn’t tried to so sue. You know considering that a lot of 40k is based on Dune.
Ya got that backwards, the writers of 40k couldn't sue, they copied Herberts' work, not the other way around.

Nah. I like this interpretation. He's just a proletariat warrior.
This is a terrible summary. Feels like a computer program wrote this and another read it.
master swordsmaster? seriously?

We'll done you've just ruined the second part of Villeneuve's dune...well done.
Villeneuves?? Have you gone to the library and looked for the Dune novels?
The narrator’s pronunciations really piss me off lol
