Kind of cool and craftsmanship is awesome. However, at that point, just buy a new blade. Sardius will not feel like a sardius with that many different bits and pieces to hold it together. The vibration, rebound, feeling have changed so much, it isn't a sardius anymore If you can't afford another butterfly blade, then just pick a cheaper blade. Many good cheap blades out there.
I wonder how to preserve the properties of the base with such alterations? I don't think it can be saved. However, you can’t do worse than nails and a piece of iron, and according to the rules, such a thing is not allowed.
