DRILL OF THE WEEK - The Swing Plane Drill

Improve your golf game with the Swing Plane Drill! This week's drill will help you perfect your swing and take your golf game to the next level.

The Swing Plane Drill is for you.👇🏻
The drill concept is to use a pool noodle & alignment stick positioned in a particular way to give the golfer with the “over the top” motion a barrier or guide to ensure their club doesn’t get out in front of their chest & steepen on the downswing.
Start by placing 2 target lines on the ground and placing a golf ball between the lines. Next using an alignment stick with a pool noodle over the stick jab into the ground, so the pool noodle is roughly at a 45* angle to the ground.

Once you have the ball + alignment stick in place your goal is to swing & hit shots without touching the pool noodle on the backswing & particularly on the downswing to shallow your swing plane + path to reduce the dreaded “over the top motion”.
