I love how all the characters manage to be distinct in there parts while also keeping a (somewhat) consistent tempo. And then there’s -Robotnik- Eggman.

I like how the souls of the dead, Tails.exe, Knuckles.exe, and Robotnik.exe, are trying to help BF by giving him rings. (which prevents you from taking damage from missing notes) I have a "quick" theory about this song that tells you that the characters are friendly to BF. But be warned, this is EXTREMELY long. I will go into full detail of the song to give you a full understanding so you don't have to try and figure it out yourself. Are you up to the challenge? Ok, no turning back now. First, with Tails.exe, he knows that BF has beaten Sonic.exe at least once if he is calling for some backup. He unfortunately sent Tails.exe in to defeat him and he has to make a choice. Give BF the rest of his rings to help him beat that monster, or help defeat BF to get him and his Girlfriend stuck in this hellhole for eternity. That is when he makes his choice. Tails.exe doesn't want to live in fear anymore, and wants to come out of his own shadow. _Tails wants a good ending._ Tails.exe has one red ring as a down pose, attempting to signal YOU to collect the rings, as they are BF's best chance for survival, and also giving BF the most rings, as he is aware of the fact that he could do the job everyone else tried and failed to complete. Defeat that terrible monster, and free them from thier exe prison. But then, Xenophanes, the god or demon that infected the Sonic world, (or simply Sonic.exe,) breaks his own rule by entering the match of this "Triple Trouble," who at this point is getting so mad that he is turning crystalized. He did not appreciate Tails.exe's performance and needed some leverage of hardness to the song. Then, I noticed my second hint. I noticed how when it was Sonic.exe's first turn, the transit from one character to another static played twice and failed, which meant Knuckles.exe tried to get his turn instantly, in which Sonic.exe thought was Knuckles.exe's eagerness to go all out, like the manipulative fighter he is. Unfortunately for exe, he was dead wrong. Knuckles.exe's true intentions were to both help and save BF from Sonic.exe's crystal like quills. He is aware of Tails.exe's decision and that BF can possibly defeat Sonic.exe too. He wants karma to have finally hit Sonic.exe's head, for the countless amounts of lives he has ruined. _Knuckles wants justice._ However, he knows the amount of rings Tails.exe has gave BF is not yet enough to defeat the beast. He is too powerful. Knuckles.exe eventually also joins BF's side to defeat Sonic.exe once and for all. Considering Knuckles is usually is the person to defend people it makes sense, but I feel not even Knuckles.exe tried to protect BF the most. That title strangely goes out to Robotnik.exe, who interrupts Sonic.exe's second time-stalling verse to enter stylishly. The only reason Sonic.exe even agreed to send him out to try and get BF is because Robotnik is the villain of the Sonic franchise, and he expected Robotnik.exe to really let BF have it, but this is where he really messed up. He still got the exact opposite of what he wanted, just like with Tails.exe and Knuckles.exe. Which is why I noticed there was a fake transit static during his turn, which meant that Sonic.exe tried to regain control because he has had enough of this bull crap, but Robotnik.exe wouldn't let him, and kept going off for another minute while helping BF in the process and even laughing at Sonic.exe to taunt him. He knows that Sonic.exe is losing, and knows this might just be the chance to get payback for all of the torture he and his frenimies went through. He joins BF's side along with Tails.exe and Knuckles.exe. _Robotnik wants revenge._ That does not only fit his character because he is greedy and wants to be in the spotlight more then anything, but he also despises both Sonic and Sonic.exe, so even though he is too afraid of Sonic.exe to the point where he will follow his orders and battle BF, like Tails.exe and Knuckles.exe, he knows at this point BF has enough power to stop the game-corrupting monster, and that gives Robotnik.exe enough stregnth to refuse to give his turn up to Sonic.exe and he keeps vibin'. But when Sonic.exe gets his control back, he looks pissed. Behind his devious smile, he knows with his own minions turned against him, he is way less powerful. No matter how many static notes and ghost notes he sneaks into BF's and the souls' parts, his efforts are only futile. Sonic.exe goes for one last push, but BF pushes harder. BF has beaten the song, and Sonic.exe. Setting the souls free, and going home. (Or did he?) I absolutely love this if it is true. I feel if I send this theory to the devs they would make it canon, lol. Triple Trouble has the best detail, and song, and this mod should be a week in the actual FNF, as this mod should be loved by more people. I wish they were more of a necessity, like, you can take damage with rings, but without them, you take 1/4 of the whole bar’s worth of damage per miss. I’ve watched a few playthroughs and some of them don’t collect any of them! Good mechanic, just under purposed.
My favorite part is definitely when xeno tries to take control of eggman's turn at 5:25, but eggman just goes "no fuck you lol" and keeps singing for like another minute and a half

The best part is at 5:25 where you can see Eggman fighting against Sonic, even if there’s static he still tries to rap with Boyfriend to keep him safe with him for a while and let him sing for a bit so he gets energised enough to beat Sonic. What an absolute chad.
The fact that Eggman has the audacity to laugh in the face of Xenophanes, despite not having arms and having his own brain split is skull, truly amazes me.
Honestly one of if not the best final fight song of FNF, it’s so climatic and panic-inducing, but everytime you beat a phase you feel a sense of progression. Perfect fight.
Especially the Eggman phase, at the end the laugh of it feels like something of encouragement for the finale, which is kind of proven with BF laughing back.
This is still probably the best, if not, one of the best mods ever made. It raised the bar for newer mods and showed them that dedication is key, this endurance test breaks your fingers and makes them sore, unlike despair and bad time, the charting is as hard if not harder in some parts, however it’s mechanic can be really annoying, the coins are annoying more annoying than dodging in despair, bc you can spam it. You can only afford to mess up so much in those mod, and if you do your done. I’ve seen my Freind get 150 misses on despair and still win, in this you just cant, it’s legit not possible. Also the static and invisible notes screwing over spammers, making it almost anti spammable. Also it’s 8 minutes long! That’s a test on the fingers, and also having amazing parts for the characters, they all sound amazing in there own right. It’s shocking how people say that only joke mods can be harder than despair and other nightmare mode songs, but they throw this in the dirt. This is harder, time wise and with charting. And look at the last part with egg man and sonic, oh my lord that’s harder than any part of bad time or despair. Also you don’t get coins fighting sonic, have fun with that! Also the animations are jus better, the backgrounds a bit lack luster but they have a whole perspective change, now that’s dedication! Also the designs of the characters are horrific and fit perfectly within the theme of the mod, as with nightmare mode I found myself thinking they were a bit… simple. The animations are great, and obviously someone could argue bf has no new animations but again, perspective change. I feel like people let go of this mod to long ago, and I wonder why. I grew up with it so maybe I’m a bit more attached, but it’s still an amazing mod and I don’t feel like it got the respect it deserved. Everyone that worked on this mod, I respect everything you did and I love it. Also counting that indie cross took more time to release, so if these guys had the same amount of time just think what they could do! You can tell Eggman's turn was not intentional as you can see Sonic.exe was trying to take control at 5:25 and you can hear static at 5:48. This also is supported as in Tails and Knuckles portions, there was no static besides there initial transition without any static throughout the song. Also, when it's Eggman's "turn" he comes in abruptly with his music instead of transitioning which supports the theory that Eggman was fighting for control. The fact that this Eggman istrying to protect bf even though he's usually the bad guy says alot. Although he maybe the villain in the games, he's not truly an evil person like Sonic.exe. I freaking loved that. Overall, Eggman was my favorite part in the song.

5:26 There's a fake transition static that cuts in, showing that Eggman is pushing Exe out of the spotlight to stay in longer. He's trying to help BF, buying him more time as well as sending in more rings. This perfectly in character for Eggman, trying to constantly be in the spotlight. He hates Sonic, and while he may be Exe's puppet, that wouldn't stop him from pushing him away when he doesn't want him in. What's Exe going to do anyway, he's already dead.

I've read on another site that the reason why Eggman laughs during his segment is because he finds it amusing how Xenophanes is having trouble killing BF.
I like how the jump scares of each character played all have a unique sound to make. I think this represents the way they had ‘fallen’. From what I can hear, tails’ jumps scare sound is a scream, meaning in which he was fearful of his friend trying to kill him. As shown in the game, tails begins to be upset, once sonic had reached him but had disappeared. Moving onto knuckles. This took a lot of replaying to hear, but I finally got it. Knuckles’ sound is a breath, which represents two things. I think in the song this is why his vocals are not too loud, and that also might represent his last breath being taken before he ‘left’. Doctor Robotnik had surprised me with his jump scare sound. It ,like tails, is a scream. This is surprising for a ‘fall note’, as it would might have been more accurate if it were a little like a gasp, or a more deeper kind of scream. Edit: I found why Eggman screams. (Thanks person i forgot in comments) out of the whole game, though we never get to see it, Eggman got the worst out of the three, when shown in the song, having both hands torn off, your skin peeled of your face and your skull bashed and bruised till your brain shows is a pretty brutal and terrifying way to die. Even though he’s the villain, at least give him a raise for going through all this pain and bring an absolute chad throughout his awesome part. For once, I don’t feel as bad for him.

This mod tells better storytelling that the Creepypasta wishes was fucking possible. The story itself is enough to hold me over the mod handles that Exe is by definition a Imposter with a God Complex which is the actual story of what Exe is and what he tries to do. He's a deranged Sonic poser who wants to kill Sonic's friends to worship him. I love that even in You can't run you can hear him physically getting madder It shows he wants this to happen HIS way and not your way no matter what it takes to get you he will do it. His desperate attempt to get Sonic's friends to help him adds to level of how fragile his god complex is. Once you resist he's gonna not pull any punches.

The bridge between Knuckles and Eggman somehow gives the Eggman part more punch. The fact that he pulls out his old boss theme and makes in quite pronounced genuinely hits me feel something, He refuses to give Sonic his turn, even when it seems like it's time to swap back. This is a great track and Eggman steals the fucking show, hands down.
6:29 This Part kinda sounds sad to me, considering Eggman's soul might be more aware of his surroundings than the rest of the EXEs. Edit: Fun fact, the rest of the characters in Triple Trouble the file names were Tails.EXE, Knuckles.EXE, and so on. BUT Dr. Robotnik was named Dr. Robotnik Soul, so this means my statement might be true about Robotnik. As we see in the song, Xenophanes Sonic tries to get his turn back from Robotnik, but he wouldn't let him as he started using a reference from Sonic 2, the boss battle theme (This is seen at 5:26), so I really think Robotnik is trying to help BF rather trying to kill him. Also considering that Sonic and Robotnik are Rivals, this suggests dispite literally being more mutilated than the other EXEs, Robotnik still doesn't follow Xenophanes Sonic's rules which really fits his character.

This song REALLY goes all out. The ring mechanics give you a sense of panic because they trick you into thinking if you have none and you miss, you instantly fail; this doesnt happen and you are completely safe, there's no point to really collect them. Tails' part makes you feel sad, because the lovable and cute sidekick is now an empty husk of what he once was, taken over by Sonic.EXE's control, while geniunely being scared for his friend. Then the chemical plant zone motif comes in and you have no choice but to just bop your head because its so good. Beast Sonic comes in and gives you the drowning motif, classic, and terrifying. Then Knuckles is next up in line, (The opponents go in order of the Sonic.EXE ROM: Tails, Knuckles, Robotnik) and you can tell that the S3&K Soundfont is in play. AND THE DUET DURING HIS SIGMENT? Literally godly. This segment makes you realize that with the ghost notes, this is going to get a lot harder. Your side was even switched from right to left. This entire song as a whole makes you sad because you see the 4 characters you know and love in such an unhinged and solemn state of not knowing what happened or who they are (in the case of the undead 3) and you just want EXE's reign of terror to end. Beast sonic in his first 2 encounters seems like a joke. Then robotnik is next in line. You can tell by his vocals that he's more aware than the last 2. He's too intelligent to let a little EXE stop him. His laugh is amazing, and the BPM picks up because he was known for being the boss. Bosses always go all out. They're fast and fun. And thats exactly the energy his part carries. THEN you get his sonic 2 boss theme leitmotif. And then for the final time Beast Sonic shows his face. But this time you know he's your final enemy, of course. If it weren't for him, the trio would still be alive and sane. But thanks to him they're empty, undead shells of their former selves. Unsuspecting of Sonic's fate, and theirs soon to come. Don't even get me started on the endless leitmotifs. This is truly a chef's kiss to not only fnf fans, but sonic and creepypasta fans. Truly worth the wait. Edit: Completely missed the Unknown from ME motif during knuckles segment at 3:33, along with the Eggman Boss theme motifs, from Sonic 2. Edit 2: You may stop telling me that the rings stop you from taking dmg by missing notes, I get it. Get a different response!

I love this song. The structure of it is amazing, so let me explain. Tails’s part is slow, sad, and foreboding, giving off the vibe that you are going to be here for a while. Makes sense, since the song is 8 and a half minutes long. Tails’s part also has a few sonic motifs in it, such as chemical plant zone, so it lets you remember the times when everything wasn’t all that bad. Now we see tails as an undead soldier who is doomed to be in EXE’s world forever. Sonic then cuts in, and tries to kill you because tails wasn’t good enough. His part is just one big motif of the drowning theme from sonic, which is known for being one of the creepiest themes in gaming, so this way he is trying to pressure you. We then see knuckles, who’s part is a lot harder than Tails’s because of the ghost notes. This symbolizes the fact that sonic is going a bit harder on you, making his puppets sing faster and have more things to throw at you. this part and others also have distinct melancholy-sounding sections, as if BF is trying to save the opponent, or they are trying to tell him to run, because this is too much for him, but of course, BF keeps going. one good example of this is 2:54. Sonic comes in again, sings faster on his own, and has more static notes. After he fails again, he sends in eggman. Eggman is the most mutilated of the 3, so he is meant to scare you into submission. He also has both ghost notes, Sonic’s static notes, and a faster BPM, making it the hardest part of the song by far. Eggman fails EXE, so he goes in one more time with everything he has. This along with all the absolute banger music and amazing sprites make this the best mod song to date, no joke., BF keeps going. it also seems as if at 3:20, after BF tries to save knuckes, the song gets more upbeat, which means BF is actually saving him.
The ghost notes are also likely a reference to how Sonic.exe appeared to Knuckles, which would make a lot of sense seeing as they start to appear on Knuckle's turn.
It feels like they still keep a bit of their original personalities even in this state, what with Tails being the softest of the three, seemingly trying to take it easy on you, Knuckles pulling a trick to impede your progress (it's just a visual fuckup, but it's more than enough to do that) like he did all through Sonic 3, and Eggman giving a laugh despite his condition- which implies he's having *fun*. Combined with EXE having no rings, it feels like they're trying to defy him, as minorly as they can, by giving you a lifeline, knowing they still have to sing or else he'll just kill them again.
This song itself just hands down made this the best fnf mod, this song on it’s own is almost 10 minutes of vibes. However playing this song is stressful and challenging but in a the best ways possible. It’s not over charted or extremely fast the difficultly slowly increased over the length of the song and because it’s such a long song it gives you time to adapt! The ring mechanic makes sure it isn’t always Insta death for you if you mess up. I can see all the love that was put in making this mod! Such care and planing went into this update. The quality of the songs went up by a million. You can hear every reference threw out the song. I immediately caught the drowning song and god that art just beautiful. The spooky more realistic art that pops up threw out the song is truly haunting! No debate about this this was well worth the wait! You can really tell dev team is a fan of not only the creepypasta but the sonic series as well! Well done sonic.exe mod devs!!
And a little detail is that Robotnik.exe has debatably the most gruesome animation's seemingly to express that you shouldn't mess with Sonic.exe cause he already is pissed. Which could be theorized on why the week ends there.
I absolutely love the way Eggman was (possibly) put as here! He basically gives a big middle finger to Exe. Not only does the music change when he appears so suddenly, but EXE seems to try to get rid of him because after his third verse, the transitioning static comes in to try to stop him, but Eggman does a big f-you and keeps singing, laughing in the beginning and the end because he stole the spotlight. Not only that, but he also interrupted Exe's turn, having popped up before Boyfriend finished singing his part, basically just trying his best to piss Exe off. Plus, with how Eggman is designed, it means he must've been the PC Port Eggman, which was too smart for Exe which would explain why he was messed up so badly by Exe, having his head basically split open along with his skull missing along with his arms because Exe was fed up with him not being submissive to his whim that he basically mutilated his body out if rage. So this is basically Eggman insulting him beyond the grave, showing how he's still a free spirit in some way. Not only that, but the song name "Triple Trouble" might have not been purposed for Eggman to be in it at all, but Exe, Knuckles, and Tails as three "heroes," since that's how it goes in the game his idol is in, but Eggman being himself and the least in control rebels against Exe by giving a big undead f-you. I swear, even when he was brutally murdered and later revived by his tormentor in a messed up body, Eggman still remains to be a bad bitch.

something about this song sounds so much more...tense and heroic compared to the earlier sonic.exe songs, and honestly? i absolutely adore it. too slow and you can't run feel like bf is just there to test his skills against sonic.exe, but this feels like an active effort to SAVE everyone-or at the very least, to stop sonic.exe from causing anymore harm. the best part is that gf isn't HERE anymore. it's implied that she's the reason why sonic.exe can't hurt bf, but now that she's not with him, the stakes feel so much higher. this COULD be it for him, because it's 4v1 with an 8 minute song, but he's still moving forward with not a drop of fear in his face (whether it be because the modders didn't want to edit even more sprites, or because he truly isn't afraid anymore). i think all of the fnf mods that get made, all of the people bf chooses to face, or HAS to face, lead up to moments like this. the community-both modders AND players-GIVE him that power to stand up to foes like this and win, and even if it does end up being just a show of strength, it's still infuriating enough for sonic.exe to throw out all the stops and give it his all, likely to his own detriment. it could even be seen avenging everyone under his control in some strange, twisted way. edit: to the people explaining that in canon bf and gf are just too stupid to see the danger around them: i feel like fnf mods tend to all characterize bf in very different ways that contradict that canon (i.e. the tabi mod, where in genocide he and gf are VERY clearly afraid), so i definitely feel like there's room for interpretation in every new mod! plus, i've always been very enamoured by the struggle between good and evil, so i may be romanticizing it just a little, hehe :)
This comment describes how I feel really well, the modding community turned Boyfriend into someone you wanna root for. The fact that through his hobby/passion - which seems to be music; he can best anyone he comes across. Literally proving himself to be the very best. I love that about the little guy, I love how fearless he is. Exe, Tricky, Hank, Lost Silver; he can handle it all really.
I always felt that way about fnf. Like there would be good foes for bf to face and eventually it leads to this avengers level threat that would be the hardest one he’s faced yet, like Tricky and shaggy (second version). Sonic exe has had his go at him and failed too. Now we will see who the next big bad will be. *Realities an illusion, the universe is a hologram*
This is by far, one of my FAVORITE songs & mod updates. I remember when I first discovered Sonic.exe, and it's GREAT to see him again. This update REALLY THREW ME OFF. My new favorite songs are now: You can't run, triple Trouble & Chaos. This is definitely one of my favorite mods out there.
Jeez, I never expected this song to be 8 and a half minutes long; I expected it to be 6 or 7 at most. It's still one of the best songs in this mod, in my opinion.
I love how X's design goes from being pretty goofy to really hecking cool. It starts to take itself a little more seriously as it ramps up and I really enjoy it. Sonic.EXE was pretty cringe but I'm ok with that and this mod just goes all out.
The og Sonic.exe is pretty bad and cringe, but anything other than that and the fandom (which sonic fandom is generally cringe anyway) other sonic.exe storys and fangames are really fcking cool

some random happy man it actually isn't, in the time it was created it was the best story, because since the creepypasta is old, it was very good and still is, it's talking about a nearly omnipotent demon that possessed the fastest being in earth, but you are indeed correct about the fangames and stories being ultra cool.
For anyone who is wondering, the numbers at the end of the song can be used to access songs and pictures from the sound test(one of the pictures being a rose on a table with the words "in memory of divide" who was one of the artists for the mod, divide sadly passed away before the 2.0 update, hence why their name is highlighted in the opening credits, I ain't telling you the code for it, that's something you have to find out on your own.)
This song is genius and a banger, perhaps the best song in FNF modding AND official. Starting with the new ring mechanic, finally something to help you, preventing you from taking damage when missing a note. Really useful, considering how long the song is. Tail's part. Sad beggining for the song, starts showing the consequences of those who crossed "Sonic's" way. After the first verse, Tails silently screams with jumpscare. Leimotif of Chemical Plant. Xenophane first appears, in all his potential horror. The perspective changes to a more 3D scenario. Knuckles tries twice to have his turn over Xenophane, to help BF. He's always the protective type. But Xenophane will come back for you later and you better be ready. Knuckles can barely stand, always tripping in his notes. His vocals are the most quiet. Leimotif of... Jojo's Bizarre Adventure? and Unknown from M.E., from Sonic Adventure. Xenophane reflects a more melancholy melody to represent what we've already faced. Then we have Eggman, who wasn't even supposed to be here, in this "Triple" Trouble. The music changes drastically, as he's way more damaged than Tails and Knuckles. His brain is coming out of his open skull without skin, he lost both of his hands. Yet, he doesn't seem to be in pain and suffering, but enjoying the spotlight, even laughing evily throughout his part. He must have enjoyed the spotlight so much, that he refuses to let Xenophane take over. It reflects Eggman's personality of hating Sonic, and wanting all the recognition for himself. He might be evil, but he understands that he can't change anything. So he buys BF more time to collect rings. Leimotif of Sonic 2 boss theme. When we have faced the souls of those who Sonic knew, Xenophane stands one last time, throwing all he's got at us. He doesn't want to lose, not to this lucky midget. He just doesn't know what BF is truly capable of. When the song ends, we don't know what happened to both of them and the souls. The game turned off. It's all gone into mystery now.
In Sonic Exe Eggman, Knuckles and Tails ARE the ones who got killed by him. I would say that it's called "triple" trouble because of them and Xenophane is just a bonus

Eggman’s part is easily the best part of the song IMO- Knuckles might be the weakest part for me since his vocals are a bit on the quiet side compared to everyone else
i don't understand how they managed to make a song that's longer than little man but still make fun and engaging the full way through, fnf needs more songs like this that REALLY feel like a battle to the end, not just the "last song (very hard)", glitcher was amazing because it felt so final, and just like this song the changing between assets made the drops in the music feel that much more impactful.
I just LOVE how Robotnik.exe, even under heavy influence of Xenophane, not only steals the spotlight, but straight up refuses to transit back until he's bored of rapping! This man is LAUGHING and enjoying himself as his brain is exposed, talk about non-chalaunt! And if you look closer, you can assume Xenophane didn't even want Robotnik to showup in the first place, most likely due to how much he snatches the song from him, hence the name "Triple Trouble" He never wanted to include Robotnik with the others. Rather than him being the final boss, Xenophane wanted to be the most intimidating one. But alas, Robotnik was always too cunning for him to properly deal with.
One thing I noticed is that all of the exe’s have static before they start trying to kill bf except for eggman cause in the middle of his song you see static so what I think this means is tails, knuckles, and eggman are being controlled except eggman is able to get out of Sonics control in his song and that’s why it has a kinda sad tone after the static
i think knuckles' part was pretty nice, especially that synth that plays when bf sings. i also love that they used the OVA voice for knuckles, though here it sounds alot like Zach Hadel
Headcanon: Robotnik's head squirts blood from the active aneurysm he is taking to prevent BF from being summoned back to Beast Sonic before he is ready, like he's fending off a psychic assault.
God damn, I still cant gush over the new wave of mods final bosses. Actually makes it seem like the finale, not just "oooooooo the characters goin sicko mode" Xeno actually feels intimidating, especially with his 3 reluctant lackeys having to tag along. I think the song ending with those glitches from the special codes just make I sound better too. And the end just leaves you not fully knowing if BF got away or not. Yeah sure GF has her powers, but was that enough to stop Xeno this time around? I mean the fucker went full beast mode at the end.
I like how solemn the whole song sounds, all things considered. I always considered the Sonic.exe creepypasta to be all edge, no sustenance. However, here it sounds just as it looks - tragic. When it's Sonic, the song turns to aggression and malice. But when it's the other characters, while turned evil, it sounds more like hopelessness and tragic loss. Good mod.
Imagine these three have their own weeks where you can actual try and save them from EXE's grasp... That would be awesome. . Also Robotnik's laugh at 4:55 and some other points of his part really shows that he's not just a mindless soul controlled by EXE, seems like the kind that would go in his own terms to do an assigned task. I cannot get over that damn laugh bit of Robotnik it really fits well god damn.

I think its cool that these charecters personalities shine through without saying a single word, Tails has completely given up trying to escape and instead gives BF the most rings, Knuckles is fighting to try to escape, we can see that since he's on the defenders side, and Eggman is in distress hence why he's the fastest one there. I also think it's cool that they all give you rings witch also falls in line with the creepypasta, where the three put aside their differences to stop Sonic

I like how the souls of the dead, Tails.exe, Knuckles.exe, and Robotnik.exe, are trying to help BF by giving him rings. (which prevents you from taking damage from missing notes) I have a "quick" theory about this song that tells you that the characters are friendly to BF. But be warned, this is EXTREMELY long. I will go into full detail of the song to give you a full understanding so you don't have to try and figure it out yourself. Are you up to the challenge?
Ok, no turning back now. First, with Tails.exe, he knows that BF has beaten Sonic.exe at least once if he is calling for some backup. He unfortunately sent Tails.exe in to defeat him and he has to make a choice. Give BF the rest of his rings to help him beat that monster, or help defeat BF to get him and his Girlfriend stuck in this hellhole for eternity. That is when he makes his choice. Tails.exe doesn't want to live in fear anymore, and wants to come out of his own shadow. _Tails wants a good ending._ Tails.exe has one red ring as a down pose, attempting to signal YOU to collect the rings, as they are BF's best chance for survival, and also giving BF the most rings, as he is aware of the fact that he could do the job everyone else tried and failed to complete. Defeat that terrible monster, and free them from thier exe prison.
But then, Xenophanes, the god or demon that infected the Sonic world, (or simply Sonic.exe,) breaks his own rule by entering the match of this "Triple Trouble," who at this point is getting so mad that he is turning crystalized. He did not appreciate Tails.exe's performance and needed some leverage of hardness to the song. Then, I noticed my second hint. I noticed how when it was Sonic.exe's first turn, the transit from one character to another static played twice and failed, which meant Knuckles.exe tried to get his turn instantly, in which Sonic.exe thought was Knuckles.exe's eagerness to go all out, like the manipulative fighter he is. Unfortunately for exe, he was dead wrong.
Knuckles.exe's true intentions were to both help and save BF from Sonic.exe's crystal like quills. He is aware of Tails.exe's decision and that BF can possibly defeat Sonic.exe too. He wants karma to have finally hit Sonic.exe's head, for the countless amounts of lives he has ruined. _Knuckles wants justice._ However, he knows the amount of rings Tails.exe has gave BF is not yet enough to defeat the beast. He is too powerful. Knuckles.exe eventually also joins BF's side to defeat Sonic.exe once and for all. Considering Knuckles is usually is the person to defend people it makes sense, but I feel not even Knuckles.exe tried to protect BF the most.
That title strangely goes out to Robotnik.exe, who interrupts Sonic.exe's second time-stalling verse to enter stylishly. The only reason Sonic.exe even agreed to send him out to try and get BF is because Robotnik is the villain of the Sonic franchise, and he expected Robotnik.exe to really let BF have it, but this is where he really messed up. He still got the exact opposite of what he wanted, just like with Tails.exe and Knuckles.exe. Which is why I noticed there was a fake transit static during his turn, which meant that Sonic.exe tried to regain control because he has had enough of this bull crap, but Robotnik.exe wouldn't let him, and kept going off for another minute while helping BF in the process and even laughing at Sonic.exe to taunt him. He knows that Sonic.exe is losing, and knows this might just be the chance to get payback for all of the torture he and his frenimies went through. He joins BF's side along with Tails.exe and Knuckles.exe. _Robotnik wants revenge._ That does not only fit his character because he is greedy and wants to be in the spotlight more then anything, but he also despises both Sonic and Sonic.exe, so even though he is too afraid of Sonic.exe to the point where he will follow his orders and battle BF, like Tails.exe and Knuckles.exe, he knows at this point BF has enough power to stop the game-corrupting monster, and that gives Robotnik.exe enough stregnth to refuse to give his turn up to Sonic.exe and he keeps vibin'.
But when Sonic.exe gets his control back, he looks pissed. Behind his devious smile, he knows with his own minions turned against him, he is way less powerful. No matter how many static notes and ghost notes he sneaks into BF's and the souls' parts, his efforts are only futile. Sonic.exe goes for one last push, but BF pushes harder. BF has beaten the song, and Sonic.exe. Setting the souls free, and going home. (Or did he?)
I absolutely love this if it is true. I feel if I send this theory to the devs they would make it canon, lol. Triple Trouble has the best detail, and song, and this mod should be a week in the actual FNF, as this mod should be loved by more people. Honestly one of if not the best final fight song of FNF, it’s so climatic and panic-inducing, but everytime you beat a phase you feel a sense of progression. Perfect fight.
Especially the Eggman phase, at the end the laugh of it feels like something of encouragement for the finale, which is kind of proven with BF laughing back.

This is still probably the best, if not, one of the best mods ever made.
It raised the bar for newer mods and showed them that dedication is key, this endurance test breaks your fingers and makes them sore, unlike despair and bad time, the charting is as hard if not harder in some parts, however it’s mechanic can be really annoying, the coins are annoying more annoying than dodging in despair, bc you can spam it.
You can only afford to mess up so much in those mod, and if you do your done. I’ve seen my Freind get 150 misses on despair and still win, in this you just cant, it’s legit not possible.
Also the static and invisible notes screwing over spammers, making it almost anti spammable.
Also it’s 8 minutes long! That’s a test on the fingers, and also having amazing parts for the characters, they all sound amazing in there own right.
It’s shocking how people say that only joke mods can be harder than despair and other nightmare mode songs, but they throw this in the dirt.
This is harder, time wise and with charting.
And look at the last part with egg man and sonic, oh my lord that’s harder than any part of bad time or despair.
Also you don’t get coins fighting sonic, have fun with that!
Also the animations are jus better, the backgrounds a bit lack luster but they have a whole perspective change, now that’s dedication!
Also the designs of the characters are horrific and fit perfectly within the theme of the mod, as with nightmare mode I found myself thinking they were a bit… simple.
The animations are great, and obviously someone could argue bf has no new animations but again, perspective change.
I feel like people let go of this mod to long ago, and I wonder why.
I grew up with it so maybe I’m a bit more attached, but it’s still an amazing mod and I don’t feel like it got the respect it deserved.
Everyone that worked on this mod, I respect everything you did and I love it.
Also counting that indie cross took more time to release, so if these guys had the same amount of time just think what they could do!

You can tell Eggman's turn was not intentional as you can see Sonic.exe was trying to take control at 5:25 and you can hear static at 5:48. This also is supported as in Tails and Knuckles portions, there was no static besides there initial transition without any static throughout the song. Also, when it's Eggman's "turn" he comes in abruptly with his music instead of transitioning which supports the theory that Eggman was fighting for control. The fact that this Eggman istrying to protect bf even though he's usually the bad guy says alot. Although he maybe the villain in the games, he's not truly an evil person like Sonic.exe. I freaking loved that. Overall, Eggman was my favorite part in the song.

The part in Tails' part is sorrowful that reflecting his sorrowful death after betrayed by his "friend"
In Xenophane's first part, the intensity is increased to show how serious and brutal Xenophanes is
At Knuckles' part, the first half is empty to showing how hopeless Knuckle's is before his demise
The second half part is showing struggle reflecting how Knuckles' is stay determined and struggling even on his impending doom
Moving on Xenophane's second part (my favorite segment), the song is bringing full despair which is reflecting how Boyfriend is in brink of despair, knowing his doom is incoming
It's also reflecting Xenophane's despair because he's can't defeat BF easily like his previous target
The Eggman's part (everyone favorite) is turning full funky and happy because Eggman's so glad he escapes Xenophane's control, this also reflecting Boyfriend's final hope
The final showdown is showing both Boyfriend his determination and Xenophane's desperate and mental breakdown

There's a fake transition static that cuts in, showing that Eggman is pushing Exe out of the spotlight to stay in longer. He's trying to help BF, buying him more time as well as sending in more rings. This perfectly in character for Eggman, trying to constantly be in the spotlight. He hates Sonic, and while he may be Exe's puppet, that wouldn't stop him from pushing him away when he doesn't want him in. What's Exe going to do anyway, he's already dead.

I like how the jump scares of each character played all have a unique sound to make. I think this represents the way they had ‘fallen’.
From what I can hear, tails’ jumps scare sound is a scream, meaning in which he was fearful of his friend trying to kill him. As shown in the game, tails begins to be upset, once sonic had reached him but had disappeared. Moving onto knuckles. This took a lot of replaying to hear, but I finally got it. Knuckles’ sound is a breath, which represents two things. I think in the song this is why his vocals are not too loud, and that also might represent his last breath being taken before he ‘left’. Doctor Robotnik had surprised me with his jump scare sound. It ,like tails, is a scream. This is surprising for a ‘fall note’, as it would might have been more accurate if it were a little like a gasp, or a more deeper kind of scream.
Edit: I found why Eggman screams. (Thanks person i forgot in comments) out of the whole game, though we never get to see it, Eggman got the worst out of the three, when shown in the song, having both hands torn off, your skin peeled of your face and your skull bashed and bruised till your brain shows is a pretty brutal and terrifying way to die. Even though he’s the villain, at least give him a raise for going through all this pain and bring an absolute chad throughout his awesome part. For once, I don’t feel as bad for him.

The story itself is enough to hold me over the mod handles that Exe is by definition a Imposter with a God Complex which is the actual story of what Exe is and what he tries to do. He's a deranged Sonic poser who wants to kill Sonic's friends to worship him. I love that even in You can't run you can hear him physically getting madder It shows he wants this to happen HIS way and not your way no matter what it takes to get you he will do it. His desperate attempt to get Sonic's friends to help him adds to level of how fragile his god complex is. Once you resist he's gonna not pull any punches.

The bridge between Knuckles and Eggman somehow gives the Eggman part more punch. The fact that he pulls out his old boss theme and makes in quite pronounced genuinely hits me feel something, He refuses to give Sonic his turn, even when it seems like it's time to swap back. This is a great track and Eggman steals the fucking show, hands down.
What's even better is how the bridge is mostly held notes and feels like it has a slower pace, preparing you for the faster tempo in Eggman's section

This Part kinda sounds sad to me, considering Eggman's soul might be more aware of his surroundings than the rest of the EXEs.
Edit: Fun fact, the rest of the characters in Triple Trouble the file names were Tails.EXE, Knuckles.EXE, and so on. BUT Dr. Robotnik was named Dr. Robotnik Soul, so this means my statement might be true about Robotnik. As we see in the song, Xenophanes Sonic tries to get his turn back from Robotnik, but he wouldn't let him as he started using a reference from Sonic 2, the boss battle theme (This is seen at 5:26), so I really think Robotnik is trying to help BF rather trying to kill him. Also considering that Sonic and Robotnik are Rivals, this suggests dispite literally being more mutilated than the other EXEs, Robotnik still doesn't follow Xenophanes Sonic's rules which really fits his character.

This song REALLY goes all out. The ring mechanics give you a sense of panic because they trick you into thinking if you have none and you miss, you instantly fail; this doesnt happen and you are completely safe, there's no point to really collect them. Tails' part makes you feel sad, because the lovable and cute sidekick is now an empty husk of what he once was, taken over by Sonic.EXE's control, while geniunely being scared for his friend. Then the chemical plant zone motif comes in and you have no choice but to just bop your head because its so good. Beast Sonic comes in and gives you the drowning motif, classic, and terrifying. Then Knuckles is next up in line, (The opponents go in order of the Sonic.EXE ROM: Tails, Knuckles, Robotnik) and you can tell that the S3&K Soundfont is in play. AND THE DUET DURING HIS SIGMENT? Literally godly. This segment makes you realize that with the ghost notes, this is going to get a lot harder. Your side was even switched from right to left. This entire song as a whole makes you sad because you see the 4 characters you know and love in such an unhinged and solemn state of not knowing what happened or who they are (in the case of the undead 3) and you just want EXE's reign of terror to end. Beast sonic in his first 2 encounters seems like a joke. Then robotnik is next in line. You can tell by his vocals that he's more aware than the last 2. He's too intelligent to let a little EXE stop him. His laugh is amazing, and the BPM picks up because he was known for being the boss. Bosses always go all out. They're fast and fun. And thats exactly the energy his part carries. THEN you get his sonic 2 boss theme leitmotif. And then for the final time Beast Sonic shows his face. But this time you know he's your final enemy, of course. If it weren't for him, the trio would still be alive and sane. But thanks to him they're empty, undead shells of their former selves. Unsuspecting of Sonic's fate, and theirs soon to come. Don't even get me started on the endless leitmotifs. This is truly a chef's kiss to not only fnf fans, but sonic and creepypasta fans. Truly worth the wait.
Edit: Completely missed the Unknown from ME motif during knuckles segment at 3:33, along with the Eggman Boss theme motifs, from Sonic 2.

I love this song. The structure of it is amazing, so let me explain. Tails’s part is slow, sad, and foreboding, giving off the vibe that you are going to be here for a while. Makes sense, since the song is 8 and a half minutes long. Tails’s part also has a few sonic motifs in it, such as chemical plant zone, so it lets you remember the times when everything wasn’t all that bad. Now we see tails as an undead soldier who is doomed to be in EXE’s world forever. Sonic then cuts in, and tries to kill you because tails wasn’t good enough. His part is just one big motif of the drowning theme from sonic, which is known for being one of the creepiest themes in gaming, so this way he is trying to pressure you. We then see knuckles, who’s part is a lot harder than Tails’s because of the ghost notes. This symbolizes the fact that sonic is going a bit harder on you, making his puppets sing faster and have more things to throw at you. this part and others also have distinct melancholy-sounding sections, as if BF is trying to save the opponent, or they are trying to tell him to run, because this is too much for him, but of course, BF keeps going. one good example of this is 2:54. Sonic comes in again, sings faster on his own, and has more static notes. After he fails again, he sends in eggman. Eggman is the most mutilated of the 3, so he is meant to scare you into submission. He also has both ghost notes, Sonic’s static notes, and a faster BPM, making it the hardest part of the song by far. Eggman fails EXE, so he goes in one more time with everything he has. This along with all the absolute banger music and amazing sprites make this the best mod song to date, no joke., BF keeps going. it also seems as if at 3:20, after BF tries to save knuckes, the song gets more upbeat, which means BF is actually saving him.
The ghost notes are also likely a reference to how Sonic.exe appeared to Knuckles, which would make a lot of sense seeing as they start to appear on Knuckle's turn.
The song is a perfect blend of a nightmarish melancholy while also representing a last stretch.

It feels like they still keep a bit of their original personalities even in this state, what with Tails being the softest of the three, seemingly trying to take it easy on you, Knuckles pulling a trick to impede your progress (it's just a visual fuckup, but it's more than enough to do that) like he did all through Sonic 3, and Eggman giving a laugh despite his condition- which implies he's having *fun*.
Combined with EXE having no rings, it feels like they're trying to defy him, as minorly as they can, by giving you a lifeline, knowing they still have to sing or else he'll just kill them again.
This song itself just hands down made this the best fnf mod, this song on it’s own is almost 10 minutes of vibes. However playing this song is stressful and challenging but in a the best ways possible. It’s not over charted or extremely fast the difficultly slowly increased over the length of the song and because it’s such a long song it gives you time to adapt! The ring mechanic makes sure it isn’t always Insta death for you if you mess up.
I can see all the love that was put in making this mod! Such care and planing went into this update. The quality of the songs went up by a million. You can hear every reference threw out the song. I immediately caught the drowning song and god that art just beautiful. The spooky more realistic art that pops up threw out the song is truly haunting! No debate about this this was well worth the wait! You can really tell dev team is a fan of not only the creepypasta but the sonic series as well! Well done sonic.exe mod devs!!

I miss these days
I absolutely love the way Eggman was (possibly) put as here! He basically gives a big middle finger to Exe. Not only does the music change when he appears so suddenly, but EXE seems to try to get rid of him because after his third verse, the transitioning static comes in to try to stop him, but Eggman does a big f-you and keeps singing, laughing in the beginning and the end because he stole the spotlight. Not only that, but he also interrupted Exe's turn, having popped up before Boyfriend finished singing his part, basically just trying his best to piss Exe off.
Plus, with how Eggman is designed, it means he must've been the PC Port Eggman, which was too smart for Exe which would explain why he was messed up so badly by Exe, having his head basically split open along with his skull missing along with his arms because Exe was fed up with him not being submissive to his whim that he basically mutilated his body out if rage.
So this is basically Eggman insulting him beyond the grave, showing how he's still a free spirit in some way. Not only that, but the song name "Triple Trouble" might have not been purposed for Eggman to be in it at all, but Exe, Knuckles, and Tails as three "heroes," since that's how it goes in the game his idol is in, but Eggman being himself and the least in control rebels against Exe by giving a big undead f-you.
I swear, even when he was brutally murdered and later revived by his tormentor in a messed up body, Eggman still remains to be a bad bitch.

something about this song sounds so much more...tense and heroic compared to the earlier sonic.exe songs, and honestly? i absolutely adore it. too slow and you can't run feel like bf is just there to test his skills against sonic.exe, but this feels like an active effort to SAVE everyone-or at the very least, to stop sonic.exe from causing anymore harm.
the best part is that gf isn't HERE anymore. it's implied that she's the reason why sonic.exe can't hurt bf, but now that she's not with him, the stakes feel so much higher. this COULD be it for him, because it's 4v1 with an 8 minute song, but he's still moving forward with not a drop of fear in his face (whether it be because the modders didn't want to edit even more sprites, or because he truly isn't afraid anymore).
i think all of the fnf mods that get made, all of the people bf chooses to face, or HAS to face, lead up to moments like this. the community-both modders AND players-GIVE him that power to stand up to foes like this and win, and even if it does end up being just a show of strength, it's still infuriating enough for sonic.exe to throw out all the stops and give it his all, likely to his own detriment. it could even be seen avenging everyone under his control in some strange, twisted way.

to the people explaining that in canon bf and gf are just too stupid to see the danger around them: i feel like fnf mods tend to all characterize bf in very different ways that contradict that canon (i.e. the tabi mod, where in genocide he and gf are VERY clearly afraid), so i definitely feel like there's room for interpretation in every new mod!

This comment describes how I feel really well, the modding community turned Boyfriend into someone you wanna root for. The fact that through his hobby/passion - which seems to be music; he can best anyone he comes across. Literally proving himself to be the very best. I love that about the little guy, I love how fearless he is. Exe, Tricky, Hank, Lost Silver; he can handle it all really.

i don't understand how they managed to make a song that's longer than little man but still make fun and engaging the full way through, fnf needs more songs like this that REALLY feel like a battle to the end, not just the "last song (very hard)", glitcher was amazing because it felt so final, and just like this song the changing between assets made the drops in the music feel that much more impactful.

I just LOVE how Robotnik.exe, even under heavy influence of Xenophane, not only steals the spotlight, but straight up refuses to transit back until he's bored of rapping! This man is LAUGHING and enjoying himself as his brain is exposed, talk about non-chalaunt! And if you look closer, you can assume Xenophane didn't even want Robotnik to showup in the first place, most likely due to how much he snatches the song from him, hence the name "Triple Trouble" He never wanted to include Robotnik with the others. Rather than him being the final boss, Xenophane wanted to be the most intimidating one. But alas, Robotnik was always too cunning for him to properly deal with.

One thing I noticed is that all of the exe’s have static before they start trying to kill bf except for eggman cause in the middle of his song you see static so what I think this means is tails, knuckles, and eggman are being controlled except eggman is able to get out of Sonics control in his song and that’s why it has a kinda sad tone after the static

i think knuckles' part was pretty nice, especially that synth that plays when bf sings. i also love that they used the OVA voice for knuckles, though here it sounds alot like Zach Hadel

God damn, I still cant gush over the new wave of mods final bosses. Actually makes it seem like the finale, not just "oooooooo the characters goin sicko mode"
Xeno actually feels intimidating, especially with his 3 reluctant lackeys having to tag along. I think the song ending with those glitches from the special codes just make I sound better too. And the end just leaves you not fully knowing if BF got away or not. Yeah sure GF has her powers, but was that enough to stop Xeno this time around? I mean the fucker went full beast mode at the end.
I like how solemn the whole song sounds, all things considered. I always considered the Sonic.exe creepypasta to be all edge, no sustenance.
However, here it sounds just as it looks - tragic. When it's Sonic, the song turns to aggression and malice. But when it's the other characters, while turned evil, it sounds more like hopelessness and tragic loss.

If you like that I’d recommend Sonic.exe the Spirits of hell, it’s a game that gives it an actual story

Also Robotnik's laugh at 4:55 and some other points of his part really shows that he's not just a mindless soul controlled by EXE, seems like the kind that would go in his own terms to do an assigned task. I cannot get over that damn laugh bit of Robotnik it really fits well god damn.

I think its cool that these charecters personalities shine through without saying a single word, Tails has completely given up trying to escape and instead gives BF the most rings, Knuckles is fighting to try to escape, we can see that since he's on the defenders side, and Eggman is in distress hence why he's the fastest one there. I also think it's cool that they all give you rings witch also falls in line with the creepypasta, where the three put aside their differences to stop Sonic
Eggman also proves that he still wants to beat Sonic by staying even when EXE tries to force him out
