As a fellow 4C girlie, I absolutely love the balance between volume and length too! My hair is incredibly dense, thick and prone to shrinkage. Sisterlocs/microlocs were made for us to take advantage of all the qualities of our hair type that made life difficult as a loose natural. I still can’t get over going to my consultation and having the loctician tell me that I had the perfect hair type for sisterlocs. For the first time in my life, it feels like my hair is working for me and not against me! I remember envying those with looser curl patterns when I was a loose natural, but now that I have locs, having more coils is a huge advantage since I don’t really have to deal with slippage and my hair has loc’d a lot faster.

Thank you for the update. I have seb dermatitis and waited years to loc and it’s now the best hair decision for my sanity and scalp. I use pure MCT oil on my scalp and that’s it. Also, your hair grew really fast which is great for when they shrink.
I’m going on 7 months with micro locs next week.
Prior to my loc journey, I didn’t know I had sebor derm. But it hadn’t stopped me. Thank you for the support and advice. ❤️
I also have sd and microlocs. I use nizoral (or other ketaconazol shampoo. )Massage it in to your scalp, let it sit for a few minutes. This kills the malesezzia yeast that causes it. Then rinse.

Hi Monae, at the start of your loc journey were you washing your hair every week? and did you experience any unravelling
i did experience unraveling, probably due to I started with two strand twists although I would definitely braid and band- and I washed every two weeks or so. I am going to do another update soon to talk about the ups and downs of my loc journey- stay tune!!
