The daughter and the mother are both scammers
Someone taught her. Start small, build up. Cancel card.
I don't know about the Planiff.
Smdh
This was filmed 12 years ago on Apr 5, 2012. How do I know? I’m the guy in the blue shirt behind the defendant! I had never seen it air-so wild to catch it in my CZcams feed!
I hope the parties involved(especially the defendant) had made better choices in life after this was aired. They are grown women now almost 30 years old this year.
The Defendant's mom was in on it too.
Exactly. The mom didn't look the least be surprised when the texts were being read. This were me, my mom would just be staring daggers at me the whole time like "You dumb fuck. You drag me into this, lie to me and you're this stupid?!". Meanwhile her mom is just kind of chilling and smirking.
I was literally just thinking that. And if not, she learned that whole lying and scamming thing from mom.
@@Fribee83 Yeah, all that chilling and smirking bothered me too. The defendant AND her mom are not ashamed of what she did at all. They're only annoyed the scam didn't work. I'm betting mom started coaching her after this, on how to scam successfully and not get caught. Tree. Apple.
"I WOULDN'T BELIEVE YOU IF YOUR TONGUE CAME NOTARIZED" is my single favorite thing the Judge has said since I've watched years ago. She doesn't use it nearly enough. I only recall a handful of times. 💯
"... if your tongue came notarized" ✍ YUPP that is absolutely getting added to my vernacular 😂
I like when she referred to a litigants old vehicle as "old enough to vote"

Scamming at such a young age. Shameful. They are both scamming. And she has the nerve to sue. Charge it to the game and don't do it again.
I am surprised the judge did not dismiss on the principle of unclean hands.
@@SwordHMXJudge Judy definitely would have dismissed the case. There stands two crooks and one outcrooked the other now she wants to sue. They're all a big thieving, lying, scamming mess.
I think she made her eat it all, bc she tried to get cute and lie. Had she kept it real she might have said no go,
They probably brought the case onto the show, thinking if the judge believed the plaintiff and won, no one would have to really come out of pocket because of the award. They both seemed like they were involved, so I too am surprised she won.
The defendant is a scam artist and knew what she was doing and she belongs under the jail. This is exactly why you don't cash or deposit any check that doesn't belong to you
They both were involved in a check scam the plaintiff was just silly enough to use her account
@@Nevaeh1 yeah she told on herself when she it was "no problem" when they did it the first time.
N the fact she only 17/18 so how long has she really been scamming..crazy work 🤦🏾♀️
and i dont believe that the check was found because nobody walks around with signed checks with no other information on it , i believe the check was stolen from the person and then the plaintiff or her mother forged the stolen check . it was straight up theft and check fraud !
They’re both scam artists.
I'm split 50/50 between the plaintiff being in on it and thinking she's just a stupid kid..
Plaintiff was in on it, and the defendant is a bold face liar and a thief
O yes...the plaintiff was so in on it she took it to court. Brilliant deduction.
Obviously, the defendant blabbing the whole thing should be ignored. She couldn't have been thinking the plaintiff was a good mark for cashing a check...not at all.
The judge agrees that she was in on it. She may not have known 100 percent but she knew that they were up to no good.
@DisposableEgo she went to tv court... with arbitration and no criminal consequences. A "court" that pays the judgements...and pays an appearance fee with a free trip 😂
@DisposableEgo did you hear the text messages read? This isn't a criminal case. Of course she sued the defendant because she is now on the hook for the $950. Why would she have to report her debit card stolen if she didn't know it was fraudulent? They were both in on it.
I always love when the announcer's voice-over makes the plaintiff and defendant laugh.
Scam-a-lam-a-ding-dong 😂
I love it, too. Curt Chaplin is a perfect announcer. He's so sarcastic. I especially loved it when they had him interviewing the litigants in the hallway at the end... he would really lay into them. I like him much better than Doug.
Once I heard the “you didn’t call in your card yet?” part, I knew for sure that the plaintiff was in on it. She knew that there was fraudulent activity going on. I believe she did it with the expectation of splitting the money.
I knew someone that allowed people to deposit fake checks into their account. When they reported their card stolen, the bank made them get a police report, which led to them getting a felony.
Agreed. The plaintiff isn't innocent. She knew something but she didn't know that she would have to pay that back. That's why she accused her of setting her up
Yea I think she knew or at least knew a part of what was going on and she was expecting her cut the issue is shit hit the fan and since it was her account it fell on her
There’s no such thing as free money. The defendant thought she found the jackpot smh.
This titile is wild 😂
“ I wouldn’t believe you if your tongue came notarized “ 😂😂damn judge Milian
The plaintiff knew something was wrong but in high school kids sometimes do stupid stuff trying to fit in or be friends with the wrong people. How many of you know an adult who deposited a fake check from a "Nigerian Prince" and got scammed?
This whole family are ok with criminal activity
@@keeper6458 lol I teach grammar. You sure about that?? Family is a collective noun. You need to learn subject verb agreement. Family is singular- ONE family. “Families” would be plural. This whole family is ok with criminal activity or These families are ok with criminal activity. You, in fact, should learn grammar or learn to be quiet. 💋
The defendant said she’s only “a little “ embarrassed? Disgusting! Then the mom is so naive to think they should have to split the amount which means she’s still believing that some part of what her daughter said was true. Really?! How could she trust anything that her daughter says after this? Be for real. 😳
This is a sad way to start your adult life. Check fraud is not it. And they are not friends.
Moments like this i am glad i have no friends 😂
My coworkers son did this to her. How could someone do something like this to their own mother?? Smdh horrible
My son tried me I told him I can't the FEDS are monitoring my accounts it was a lie but I love sarcasm because technically they are this is bank fraud so it makes it federal.
Man...that defendant's mom is so chill. I'd think the mom should care a little more...unless she is the one who taught her daughter how to scam. Idk...
Not all the money in the world could get me on tv if my daughter did something like this
The way the mother answered at the end seems like the mother doesn't have any control over her child
Douglas laughing when he hears "try a smaller number"😅
They should both be in jail for a week. Also the mom needs to be held accountable too.
More than a week is needed, put them in and not tell them how long and let them sit for a month or more 😂
@@puzzliteI'm trying to figure that out. She told the girl dont cash the check
Unfortunately, they are young women and are only getting a slap on the wrist, especially if they do not have any priors. However, if the plaintiff and/or defendant was male, trust me the police would be waiting at their door as soon as they arrive home if not sooner!
“Scamalamadingdong” would’ve gotten me escorted out of court so bad lol I need to grow up 😂
Why the heck people willing to deposit checks for other people into their own accounts? Send them to the bank the check is written on or a check cashing place.
It's a scam a lot of people do, my coworker son did the same thing..
Even adults do this. I think so people try to be nice, some want a deposit fee and others can't might be a little gullible(slow).
I believe the cheques were stolen not found. You can tell by the defendants persona she has not learned a thing.
I been saying this from the beginning "so called friends" are nothing but trash 🗑 😒
Everyone of these people were in on it. Mother included.
This happened to me when I was 19. I was parentless and living with my sick grandmother and very desperate and impressionable. A “friend” posted about an opportunity to make money. $7000 was deposited in my account. I was given about $1000 and shortly after, my bank account was frozen and closed. I was not able to open up a new bank account for another 5 years. It was MISERABLE. Do not cash checks that aren’t yours!
I think the plaintiff just wanted to fit in. The mother is delusional.
When you answer with words like "whatever" or other such ambiguous descriptive words you know you're LYING....
This is the first time she’s been caught because that’s pretty brazen for a first time thief and I’d bet she really did have court fees.
Judge Judy would’ve dismissed the case!
Judge said the defendant was a stinking liar! 😅 Facts! I can't believe a person who was that young was such a scam artist. Oh, No! Now the plaintiff is in question.
Some teenagers will do anything to be liked and to gain a friend - especially if it’s from a popular peer. The plaintiff may not have gotten anything out of it but just some clout. Very sad that parents aren’t raising their kids with better morals and values these days.
Sounds like someone watched Blank Check a few too many times!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Two teenage girls: 🙎🏽♀️🙎🏽♀️
Milian: Anything romantic between u two?? 👀
Why can’t people be honest about things that don’t belong to them!!! They SHOULD ALL GO TO JAIL!!!!
the defendant will do it again and she will hopefully end up in jail and get a rude wakening. The Mom don't seem to care
So, she found a blank check and decided to write her name on it and convince her friend to deposit the checks in her account. Wow
Not the last time they’ll all be in front of a judge.
Didn’t they both come in with dirty hands so I’m wondering why she was given any money
Probably because the defendant agreed to repay her and then shafted her
I'm thinking the same thing the money didn't belong to either of them
That girl will end up in jail. And her mom's milquetoast 'scolding' was pathetic.
Let me tell ya. Mom ain't right either(Ya gonna have to stop doing what'cha doing)Really?? Come on mom new her daughter was up to no good.Trust me i knew some crazy parent kid combo's in my day i had a few homies with some shady parents.
The silver lining is having this case publicized; I bet they will NEVER try scamming again! 😮 Embarassing!
If I got dragged into court for scamming checks my mother wouldn't be smirking and laughing. Some people have zero scruples.
The brother doesn't even think anything is wrong.
“You must be proud” lol they’re always proud of they babies even when they’re babies are committing crimes and messing around with the justice system. That mother is ridiculous, trying to pin everything and made it seem like it was the plaintiff plan. I guarantee she was the one who suggested her daughter to have the plaintiff to do that. If she was really concerned and knows the truth she would’ve contact the plaintiff’s bank herself and reported what happen but nope, instead she left the plaintiff handling it and pinning it all on her. Sad. People raise their kids like this but yet be acting so surprise when they go breaking the law and committing crimes.
I’m a financial crimes analyst…it’s cases like this that keeps me in business lol😂! Stupidity starts from a. Young age apparently 😂
The defendant's testimony directly contradicts Curt's intro reading of her defense regarding who found the check.
I remember a case on Bait Car where the perp considered the presence of an empty vehicle with the engine running to have literally been a gift from Jesus. What was this defendant thinking when she found the blank check?
Safe to say these people won't become Rocket scientists
Obviously, the mom haven’t taught her anything since birth, considering her response in the hall
How do you find a blank check and give it to your friend to deposit? 🙄 The nerve of the mom to say she found a check. Ma'am, my daughter stole a check and forged it!
They’re ALL in on it …….
"you must be so proud" 😂
Why do people laugh at criminal behavior? Including the judge! I was raised differently…
it's the audacity of people's choices that seem so unbelievable it becomes comical
Oh my!! WTH did I miss?? Did JM just really give one of those thieves the actual amount of the STOLEN check?? WTF? Why would she award anyone anything from this whole mess other than a ride down to JAIL?? Oh snap, I just remembered, this judge is the one that gives drug dealers their drugs and $ back!!
Because the bank would've taken the money back from the plaintiff once the scam was discovered. The defendant got all of that money and the plaintiff got shafted and is out all of it.
Still..she was really lucky to get anything since she obviously knew it was a scam...
Future looks very bright with these illegal behavior
I am surprised she didn't dismiss the case due to unclean hands
Why wasn't this case dismissed? JM usually says the court system doesn't help out in committing a crime, if I sold a pound of kilo to the defendant and they never paid me, the court system won't help me collect the money owed to me. How is this case different, they both scammed with fraudulent checks, they both guilty, and the case should be dismissed?
I see where she gets her lack of accountability from her mother
They all knew and were all in on it.
I don’t care who you are and how close we are to each other, I will never involve myself in situations like these especially when I don’t know where the money came from or who it belongs to.
They all knew what was going on. If the checks wouldve kept clearing, they would've kept doing it. They just got caught.
Both of them were trying to be slick.
Wow... These kids are bold today. I know they deposit fraud checks but they take them from the school too 😂🤣
Mom, your daughter is a thief! Stop trying to blame the other girl!
Judge should call police and put her in prison.
The way the defendants’ edges are being pulled by them braids is what’s stressing me the most 😳
This definitely should have been a judge Judy case, would’ve been thrown out asap under the doctrine of “unclean hands” 😂 man teenagers are terrible liars.
Huh.. mom - you aint helping.
It starts with the CULTURE IN THE HOME. SHAME ON THE MOTHER, DEFENDANT, AND PLAINTIFF. WTF IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE????😳😳😳😳😳😳
Love people running scams they ain’t smart enough to be running.
I ran straight to COMMENTS! Defendant looks like A SCammer!!
The defendant and mother really thought of a lie, as though the text messages couldn't be seen or read by the judge. The mother is no adult believing everything that child tell her.
Get that person some damn water. Coughing like that.
"Scammer...I hardly knew her"
The mom was ok with it…. Not her tryna defend her daughter lol
I have no comments because I haven’t watched it yet, but THAT TITLE 😂😂😂😂😂
The defendants mom and brother are just as sketchy. I can't believe people would take this case to People's Court.
This has to be learned behavior. That mom is written all over this.
Defendant’s mother is exactly who is teaching defendant how to steal and defraud. They both belong in prison. Mother should be also charged with corruption of a minor. Defendant is already a full fledged criminal. I hope that plaintiff has learned a lesson and never ever do this for anyone ever again. It’s scary how easily the defendant lies. She’s sociopathic.
NICE!! Thieves & Liars!! That mother is a piece of work! Why hasn’t she taught her child “RIGHT” from “WRONG”?? (Actually it’s none of my biz, but she will have to answer this when GOD asks her!! Yikes!!!)
I think the 2nd check was a setup, designed to catch her red handed. And it was a smart idea!!
I wonder if they go back n watch this episode and feel embarrassed. I’m surprised the defendant didn’t go to jail
Occasionally one of the litigants will come into the comment section. So awesome
@TopherGrant I remember a couple won their case against a crappy landlord on Judge Judy, and they were in comment section explaining why their landlord had been such a jerk. It was so cool.
Judge MM "you must be so proud." Sadly it was probably Mom who taught her to do this kind of fugazi crap.
Dang! Someone should get that person watching in the courtroom a drink or a COVID test. I could hear them coughing from the introduction to the end lol.
The title is hilarious lol
Interviewing the defendant’s minor brother was tacky af. Regardless of what the defendant did, his a child and had nothing to do with it. He shouldn’t have been there at all, but the interviewer should know better.
Not scam-a-lam-a-ding-dong 🤣🤣🤣.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 im crine
Baby, ive been laughing for the past hour at the damn title 😂😂😂😂
Cryinggggg 😭🤣🤣🤣🤣😭
