People going in expecting a documentary are going to be fairly disappointed. This production’s sole purpose is to entertain and not inform so to anyone considering watching it expect a more classic movie feel.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say its SOLE purpose is to entertain but 🤷🏽♀️
One movie can not tell the full story of Bobs life.some series needed.RIP LEGEND

Prior to going the review’s was that it wasn’t great. I went with an open mind since I already done my research about his life prior. It was highlights and not in-depth which was fine. Overall my hubby and I enjoyed it. I’d give it a 9/10. I’d watch it again.

Now, the reason why Kingsley was chosen was for pure economic purposes. He is an established actor that can guarantee ass in seats. If a Jamaican actor were used, who had no worldwide track record, distributors might have reservations in purchasing the rights. So you have Brad Pitt, Paramount, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and an icon (Bob) This is marketable plan with bankable names.
In the end, show business is “business “.. that wants a return on investment. This is a harsh, cold reality.
I wish certain people who claimed they searched for Jamaican actors would just speak the truth.

It was aight……… I got up and left before it was over just because I knew it was over and did not want to watch the sad part……………
The message was there no doubt …… just felt a little bit short changed!
Definitely not worth a Grammy! I would like to go to see it again, but I’m not sure I wanna pay for that……… I would rather just stream it and dance around my living room like nobody’s watching! I don’t know how things like that turn out but if it is a popularity contest, then there’s a good chance that this will take an award! I love Jamaica! I love reggae! And I dig the culture……………….. and I am for sure blessed to have had Bob Marley in my life with all of the great music❤️💛☘️

I have not watched it yet I want to though... Based on reviews and online knowledge (LOL) Sevana played Judy Mowatt.... There were a couple Jamaican there both production and Cast... Kingsley has Caribbean background. Lashawna Lynch (Jamaican background) played Rita Marley.

The trailer looks like some cheesy Lifetime movie. It's definitely not a biopic. Bob Marley was famous as a teenager in Jamaica. Yet, it looks like he was an "overnight sensation" when he had long dreads. Does it mention he converted back to Christianity before his death?
No it didn’t mention that, I’d say the movie was more so a highlight reel of his career 🤷🏽♀️

RIGHT !!!! I'm not even Jamaican, but I absolutely love visiting Jamaica and love reggae. I just know it was more than enough Jamaicans that could have played in the movie.
The movie was great I loved it. As a non Jamaican who doesn’t know much of his life I thought was a beautiful story. I understand you can’t tell a persons whole life in 2 hours so they chose a part and told and did it well. The patwah was thiccc!! I don’t know how Americans and Europeans are supposed to understand they will kiss so much. My husband is Jamaican so I understand well but I think many will miss a lot. Plus the movie is produced by Ziggy and Rita, they get to chose what they want to tell or tell from their perspective. How can they tell his relationship with Cindy and the others, we got the point they existed but it’s not about them. Just him and the people telling the story

It's funny my grandma was from Jamaica and she passed away when I was 4 so I never got to hav that conversation wit her on the importance of him and as much as I luv music and luv his music im watching interviews so I can have a better understanding of the type of person he was and what his music meant and the whole meaning of being a rasta💯💯💯💯💯

it’s not just an accent, it’s considered a foreign language film since a lot of it’s in Jamaican English and Patois

How can he lose copyright? I believe it has to be 70 yrs or 95 yrs after the person's death. I might be wrong.
I heard it was 50 years after their death but I’m not 100% sure either
