It’s one of the only amusement parks near me and it works for me and my family and we love it every year! My favorite ride is fs the Superman ride of steel
I'm a fat 41 year old smoker, I've ridden every single one of those coasters multiple time in a row, end of night, no unload, my goodness the amount of crying over how rough the rides are is amazing😅. This one doesn't have enough force, this one hurts too much😅
They seem to complain in every video they make lol
Compared to top tier 1% rides, this is the 99%.
Pretty much none of these would make it at a like a Cedar Point, Maybe ride of steel but they would have had a way better lay out lol.
Im in my 30s and my work does picnics here every year and I enjoy eating as much food as I can and trying not to throw up on all the spinning rides with my dumb coworkers hahaha
@@Dilemma009 I think everyone is well aware this is not the most elite park in the country. It's not what it's advertised as, or trying to be. The incessant whining is still annoying lol.

The park expanded so quickly in the late 90s, early 00s and it had a promising future. Now it seems noone wants to do anything with it or properly invest in it the way it deserves
it hasn't expanded at all, in fact they closed off a huge part of it and sold out the campgrounds so you cant even enter through that part anymore forcing you to pay to enter and extra for parking or walk even farther, closed down rides, sanitation in the pools is at all time lows, garbage all over, discriminate marijuana use, but allow alcohol and cigarettes, removed giant ship in hook lagoon past 4 years now, oh and its cashless now, sure you can exchange for a card at a machine, but that forces you to either use all that money or it goes to them, oh an you top that off with nobody wanting to work and everything is deserted, food stands, games
This park is not bad whatsoever, I have season passes as this is my home park, and it is a really nice park. It’s a shockingly great park, the operations are usually not bad, at all. The operators are all kind, and on a non-busy day, they will let you ride multiple times in a row. One time I got stuck right in front of the station on Tantrum, due to lighting, they were all kind, and nice, we were having conversations when stuck. Viper, my favorite ride in the park, is really nice when not in the central-ish seats, the front seats of the section(?) are not rough and don’t toss you around, unlike the previously mentioned seats. Ride of Steel does have a lot more force in the front and back seats, and overall nice. Just as what Airtime Thrills said, this is a surprisingly nice park, with a great supporting cast and nice headliners. They usually run multiple trains on regular days for Viper. The flat rides are all pleasant, including the SkyScreamer. They recently closed Mind Eraser for the season to get new trains, and it’s gonna be a lot better than the previous seasons. I feel like Six Flags isn’t gonna do a lot for now, and although I hope they do add a new coaster, which they really need, they won’t for the next year or two. I feel like this video isn’t doing justice for Darien Lake at all. But hopefully, you guys sometimes revisit and do it some more justice.
You are definitely allowed to enjoy your home park. We just have a little bit of a differing opinion. We do like the park though

The year The Predator opened, the coaster club I belonged (WNYCC) to was invited to the opening ceremony. A friend and I were coming thru the park from the campsite and walking past the coaster. They were doing a few test runs and we went up to the station and asked if we could ride. They said yes and we got two 2nd seat rides in, sitting behind the park owner and the man who designed the ride. The first year it was open it was a screamer. I will choose Sea Breeze over Darien Lake any day of the week.
As a Buffalo area local, this is a fair assessment. I felt like I learned a lot about rides I've known for years listening to you guys.
I remember when I was a kid and the Mind Eraser first opened. I thought it was the coolest and that we were cool for having something so close to home.

It’s interesting how that park was not a six flags then it was, then not again and now it is again. It seems the laser show is shown too early before dark. I liked it when they had the water skiers at fun lake.
We are in the middle of an 11 Park family vacation and just went to Six Flags America. We preferred Six Flags Darrian Lake over SF America. Darrian Lake had some charm, and the ride ops were fun. We did both the water park and rides in one day, and still left before the park closed. SF America is the first park we felt bored at. 😊
What a fun trip. We almost went to America one time but didn’t have the time but we hear it’s very lack luster
I grew up/live outside of Buffalo, but haven't been to Darien Lake in probably 22 years. From your and other videos I've watched the park seemed a lot better back then. Not a whole lot has been added since, while multiple attractions have been taken away. That and from what I hear the prices of everything (especially food) have skyrocketed. The current owner doesn't seem to want to invest into the park and is trying to squeeze as much as he can out of visitors. It probably peaked around 2000 when it had the DC and WB tie-ins with the theming.
I’ve been going to Darien lake since 1990. They took out a bunch of rides like the twister ufo long flume grizzly run and the ranger. They used to use 2 trains until a decade ago. The Superman used to take bags last year was the first time they told you to buy a locker. In high school I used to spend a whole day there. Now you go on the rollercoasters and there is nothing left to do.
Motocoaster over Ride of Steel is absolutely criminal. I get the ops on Ride of Steel are ASS but I hesitate to call it forceless. The final run of the 3 hills at the end gave me borderline ejector and just today I browned out for the first time ever on the double helix (normally that section of the ride does absolutely nothing for me although I think its the largest helix I've experienced). It is the weakest hyper I've been on but its still in my top 15 because it feels like a nice long ride with satisfying elements and incredibly smooth tracking.
I adored viper when I rode for the first time in 2023 but it beat me up pretty bad today, more than just on the batwing although that was the worst part. I share your opinions on tantrum and and predator although I might be tripping but I think I experienced a twinge of airtime on the drop on predator today.
Ride of Steel is the Original mega coaster it was the proto type America was the clone and it is 2 feet shorter in hight
Ride of steel is the only six flags ride I know of that doesn’t allow the cups.. their operations are so bad they can’t afford the extra time.
Most people complain about that piece of straight track. I love it only because of the different way you transition into the airtime Hill. It’s more like a launch ramp than the normal parabolic entry into the airtime hill. it hits harder!🤘

The super man ride of steel used to have 2 trains but they took away the red train and renamed it and also took off the super man logo

Six flags has the rights to Superman, they left Darien Lake in the mid 00s so the park had to adjust the name to Ride of Steel and took the Superman branding off. Six flags now operates it again but they haven't switched the name back or brought in any DC properties back either
Because a man died on it and six flags pulled out. It was closed for like 2 years. Then reopened with the name ride of steel.
The quality in these videos are getting on the level of coaster studios.

I have wanted to go here for a while, but the horror stories about the operations have kept me away. One train on a hyper, not even one train on less busy days, just one train. WTF dude!

Its not a park I'd recommend people come from far away to visit but I enjoy it as a home park. Superman is very good and I think every other ride is decent at best. Its an okay experience
Just took my 2 year old and her first ride ever was Moose on the Loose. She loved it!
I’ve been local to the park my whole life. Late 90’s and early 00’s it peaked and died hard after. The park doesn’t do anything well. Kids rides are lacking, thrill rides are lacking intensity and Ops. I’m about 20 mins away and haven’t had seasons in 7-8 years. We opted instead for CP seasons and go a few days every month over summer
I finally went to Cedar Point yesterday, I got plenty of room on Millennium Force test seat and actual ride in the red train. One time used double belts for Raptor, and also without. Did Power Tower both sides, My shin guards and my hips are very sore, so did Blue Streak.
So, ummm, what happened to the bottles? They still in the bushes?

Ride of steel has one car for safety reasons
Edit: it used to have 2 but if for some reason anything happens to the first car then they would be causing bigger issues with a second

I love roller coasters, been to Cedar Point, while I know Darien Lake does not have crazy rides, I hope I never ride enough roller coasters to be as thoroughly unimpressed as the two of you😅

Been to 3 other parks 2 busch gardens and kings dominion. Darien is horrible now and boring. From western NY
Darien lake is my “home park” it peaked with Superman in the late 90s ironically it was better than most coasters at cedar point at that point and I still think ride of steel crushes magnum…. I remember thinking for a bit Darien lake has CPs number…. But then CP returned fire with 3 insane intamins millennium, dragster, and maverick…. And I was reassured who the coaster king was… this current management of CP sucks.
Isn't the problem with this park that park operators can't own the property, but has to lease a operations license? Why Invest in new trains, while you can lose your license for park operations? Just wondering...

When did it become six flags again!? That’s new… six flags pulled out for like 15 years, must have been adopted back recently.
Darien Lake has been in business for over forty years. You would think that in four decades, .six flags could plant a few trees and do some real landscaping. Nope. Just asphalt and queue lines out in the open on concrete. Says a lot about how much respect for their customers

What day did you two go to Darien lake? I was doing almost a full week there last week. (I'm in the games department in the park.) My third year working at the park and second year in games. (Which is run by HBLEISURE by the way.) Anyways, from what I heard from my manager Adam last year was that the park management doesn't exactly know what they're doing, but with the six flags and cedar fair merger hopefully Darien lake can improve and catch up with the other parks y'know?

If you'd stay later, you would've caught the laser light spectacular show that starts when the park shuts down for the night, it's free and it's a pretty good show too. Did Ride of Steel get any better after your second ride? Supposedly, it's getting another train in the future.

Steel Vegeanace lap bar with shin guards hurt's, so did Blue Streak. Ouch 🤕😳
its trash, they have alot of cleaners on the blacktop but none in the pool area, in the one coner there was hair and garbage all over, they let people chain smoke and drink alcohol and get in fights, but prohibit medicinal and recreational marijuana, they sold the campsites, so now you need to pay extra to enter park and pay for parking, and they closed down quite a few rides and removed the giant ship in hooks lagoon.

This park is definition of mediocre. It’s strictly nostalgia based for locals. Was a nice place in early 2000s.
Sadly this is my local park. I really hope one day somebody will give it the love it deserves, Darien lake has so much potential but instead they just use it as a concert venue. Thankfully being in this area also mean I’m only 3 and a half hours away from cedar point lol

Hey guys, was curious on your opinion on getting fast passes during the week at cedar point. Is it worth it?
This season Cedar Point seems to be busy every day of the week. I personally think fast lane is worth it any day you go.
If you are going for 1 day it’s a must, if you are going for 2 days I would get it on the second day at least.
Darien Lake used to be the schizznitt back in the day.
That Superman ride of steal Darian Lake 10:23 is garbage, the one at 6 Flags New england is bad ass and way better.

Im sorry but this video makes no sense. You said you didnt like Superman/ride of steel, but for some reason you wanted to use you fast pass on that ride! You were also being a greedy person by not being honest when the ride operators forgot to check your fast pass. And just a little tip for the future you CANNOT use different fast pass for a new park. And Six Flags Darien Lake is not home pf the worst operations.
You seem like you get triggered extremely easily. I suggest hiding from what others say if it hurts you so much.
I would give it to Kentucky kingdom they are horrible lightning Run only 1 train with a long ass line Thunder Run same shit, Operators aren’t even hustling. And Storm Chaser a top #10 RMC that can’t even get 1k riders per hour that’s just pure laziness Booooo Kentucky kingdom Boooo
We can all agree that Darian Lake is way better this season than the fake and failing Buffalo Bills.
Darian Lake sucks. They should just close it. It's so ghetto. Nothing new has been built in like 20 yrs. It's boring there. Rather drive to PA and goto Hershey Park. Or drive to six flags New England or Jersey. Those are worth the drive.
