Chester (and Linkin park) was a big influence on OOR. One of the reasons why they started a band in the first place. OOr and LP were supposed to tour together but it was all cancelled of course because of Chester's death. Taka performed together with LP at the memorial concert. His voice is absolutely surreal, and he has many performances that make people's jaws drop. Check out his cover of Adele's Hello for a demonstration of his range and Clock Strikes from the Luxury Disease tour for his longest recorded sustained high note of 30 seconds. He is both a proficient screamer (One by One, Cry out) and a heart wrenching balladeer (Your tears are mine, Good Goodbye...). He comes from a family of singers but his parents were against him becoming a singer so he has sustained himself from the age of 16 without his parents' help. He developed his voice on his own, after an initial short stunt at a music school in his teens.

OOR is my favorite band, they're amazing. They started the band in 2005 already. The members are Taka (vocals), Toru (guitar and band leader), Tomoya (drums) and Ryota (bassist).
I hope we'll get to see some more OOR reactions from you. You might like We Are (the lyrics are everything!) and Wasted Nights. Please choose the live performances. OOR is best live.

OOR will be on tour in October. Maybe you'll be able to make it. It's an amazing experience to see them live. I saw them last year in France and will see them in October in Germany again. They're incredible!

I discovered this band a few months ago, I cried at this when I heard it, I have actually fallen a little in love with Taka. They are amazing I absolutely love their songs.
I've seen a lot of bands live in my 55 years, but they are by far my favorite in concert.

More song of them pls !!! They are incredible ❤ Chester and Taka voice can healing my soul. OOR is insane, their live is even better more than studio recording seriously.
I love this band, they are very skilled. His parents and little brother are singers, he was almost in a Jpop group.
Their World Tour is coming soon including the USA and Canada in October as well as Japan,Taiwan, Germany, France and the UK.
I wish they had more US dates, but maybe next tour I can make it

Topher finally going down the ONE OK ROCK rabbit hole! This band is amazing and they're going to be at the Kia Forum in LA on October 23. Tickets are still available if you want to go. If you have the means, I highly recommend it! The band is amazinggggggggggg live, as you can see. This concert you just watched was actually the first concert I went to of theirs. It was so good.

The first time I watched this I broke down and sobbed…alot was going on in my family at the time but honestly it was a much needed emotional release.
Taka and the guys are amazing.

Attending OOR’s live concert was like being part of a spiritual experience. I cried during the intro song, in the middle of the concert, and at the end. Basically I was crying the entire time coz Taka’s vocals really makes you feel every word he was singing. The band has been together for a long time and you can just tell the level of skill they have from Tomoya’s drums, Ryota’s bass, and Toru’s guitar play.
And since you mentioned Chester, they are actually friendd with LP and they were about to have a concert together in Japan but Chester left us before that happened. I was actually planning to watch them live for the first time on that concert but sadly, Chester’s passing was just too much.
I'm finally going to see them, and I warned the person I'm going with that I am going to cry ugly-tears the entire time.

My recomendation is cover video of Easy On Me by Adelle. His vocal is on another level. He is not like other rock band vocalist, at the moment he is just on his league.

My 2nd favorite Japanese band, right after Band Maid, but nudging ahead of Doll$boxx, Wagakki and Hanabie. Suggest the song, 3xxxv5 Take Me to the Top, We Are and Clock Strikes. And of course, any Japanese band only should be listened to live.
ONE OK ROCK was scheduled to perform with Linkin Park for the first time. However, it was canceled due to the sudden death of Chester Bennington.
Since it was also a song for him, we began with a long moment of silence, and then at the end we sang together with all the fans.
You're right in a way when you say it sounds like a heartbreak song. TAKA admired him, but that dream didn't come true...
That moment of silence was for Chester.❤

Bit late to commenting, but I’m glad you checked them out!! I’ve seen them live 4 or 5 times, starting from when OOR first started touring in the US. One of my favorite bands of all time. His voice has transformed beautifully. Always evolving and giving me goosebumps

Some people say that TAKA's long silence in this song is a prayer for Chester. Of course, there are also those who disagree, but in any case, LP was very important to OOR. Taka is the songwriter for most of the songs of OOR and he wrote this song about his parents divorce

Until now, rock has mostly repeated four chords, but Japanese rock takes a long journey from start to finish. It also often changes key. Please continue to enjoy the many world-class Japanese rock groups.

Taste. Drives me crazy when young artists are singing in an obviously unhealthy way and their fans rage about how there's no "proper" way to sing or it being a stylistic choice whenever anyone mentions vocal training. You're doing the artist zero favors with your ignorance. 🤷♀️ Singing in a healthy manner doesn't negate individuality, but it can definitely help elongate a career. Would love to watch you delve into music that would otherwise be blocked on Patreon. I've been meaning to do a deeper dive into OOR for a while now because I've loved the covers I've seen and the little I've heard from them. Don't think I'd survive in that audience though... that was a lot of emotional tension.
