    STORY
Over the rolling hills of the endless French countryside, we stumbled upon a charming historical farm that seemed abandoned at first glance. Stepping inside, we were amazed to find it looked like it had been deserted for over a century. Every item inside the house seemed to belong to a different era.
This magnificent farm is a true gem of 18th-century French rural architecture. Its charming stone walls, rustic wooden beams, and timeless design show a period of beauty and craftsmanship from long ago. The Baillot family, known for their hard work and simple pleasures, loved this farm, living a traditional life that followed the rhythms of nature and the changing seasons.
Upon further investigation, we discovered that this place had been abandoned since 2008. The former owner, Allain, had shunned modern technology entirely. After his children moved out and his wife passed away, he lived here alone, with only the occasional visit from his grandchildren.
But a dark twist in the farm’s history came when Allain passed away. Surprisingly, his considerable fortune went to Jacques, one of the family members. Jacques had never shown care for his uncle, which angered those who had. Mysteriously, the uncle’s will vanished, leaving the rightful heirs with nothing. To avoid the legal battles that followed, Jacques field with the inheritance, abandoning the farm and its legacy.
This place is truly one of a kind, offering a chance to step back in time and experience how life was lived in rural France a century ago.
Join us as we explore the history and secrets of this remarkable farm, diving into stories of betrayal, mystery, and abandonment that surround this extraordinary estate.

This, once beautiful, stately, old mansion has once again broken my heart ♥️!!! The decay of this property is heartbreaking 😞😰😢 It always makes me sooo very sad to see that no family members have gone in to save the priceless, one of a kind treasures, that these properties hold!!! The old books that could have been donated to a library or a museum, the gorgeous antique wooden furniture that could have been sold or donated to a museum & the family photos that can never be duplicated & will be lost forever 😞😰😢 I even saw sooo many metal receptacles that could have been saved!!! It reminds me that we can collect meaningful memories for ourselves, but our family or friends don’t hold the same things dear😞😰😢 Thank you Leslie & Danny for risking your lives, to share, yet another wonderful adventure!!! I truly loved it 👍🙏💕

Agree with everything you said..it’s surprising sometimes they come across objects that they find “disturbing” like the purse made from animal skins. Maybe they’re not aware of things that today we don’t agree with, but in the past was perfectly normal. Like a sealskin purse, the things they considered “food” even some of the words they would use to describe others is definitely shocking to us now (retarded, moron, idiot etc) Either way they’re both awesome especially how respectful they are)

Hand-painted photographs are still being done as more of an art thing. Years ago before there was color photography it was a way to make photographs more lifelike. I have photographs that were done like that of my mother and father.

The item that is seen sitting next to the piano at minute 32:55 that you thought was a sled is actually an item called a "Nun and Priest" bed warmer. I've seen these in several old house explorations. Look it up on the internet for complete explanation.

It’s heartbreaking to know that soon that beautiful cabinet will be destroyed when the rest of the house falls in. They don’t make pieces like that anymore. The craftsmanship and quality is top notch. They use to take pride making furniture back in the old days when it was about Quality not quantity. Furniture made now or in the past fifty years does not even compare. And it’s a shame that so many fine pieces of antique furniture and those beautiful stoves are left to rot in abandoned homes. Until soon there won’t be any left 💔

If you look at some of the wallpaper falling off, you can spot the backing layer made out of newspaper, it's always interesting to check it, it gives an idea of when this wallpaper was applied.

Hey Lesley, Again an exceptionally wonderful explore video, which I enjoyed rewatching! You and Danny are really a wonderful and very respectful Urbex duo. It is every time so amazing to watch how you, dear Lesley, bring new life to such an abandoned location.
Besides heavy decay traces there were still some really remarkable items visible. Especially that very elaborately carved cabinet in the late 19th century historism style is really beautiful with the incredible details. Looking at some other pieces of furniture with awesome carvings I think, that the former owners of that French farm house were very cultivated and quite wealthy people. - Additionally it was so touching to see these old photographs, which are giving you a short idea of the life back in the days when this location was active and filled with life. - Lovely to see how caring Danny is, preventing you from getting involved in an accident. Great camerawork and beautiful background music. Respect to Danny and his skills!
Stay safe, peace and kindest regards from Switzerland.

About films: after the late 1940s, films were made of celluloid. It's not paper, but something similar. Before that, there were nitrate-based films which were extremely flammable. Early movies were made on those and they were really dangerous. As an alternative to that, there were glass for photographs, which were safer and could also be made bigger. Professional photographers used them, sometimes pieces of glass much larger than you've found here. Photographs made on those are wonderfully detailed.

I once found a tin black and white picture of some old family members. 3 men one is setting, two are standing beside the one setting. Long black mustache, dressed in their best suits not a one of them were smiling! Weird! I still have it! It’s from my Dads side. He had 3 brothers. So…..idk

Pretty sure that inheritance was stolen with a fraudulent will. May he find his karma, if such a thing exists.
Also, that first bedroom you found, everything was so deliberate? Almost like they arranged the room as a memorial to whomever lived in it before the place was abandoned.

¡Buen vídeo! Pero realmente era un trineo lo que vieron? Parecía lo que utilizaban debajo de las camas para mantenerlas calentitas
