I remember my Mom telling me about how her & E.L., that even though they were long time friends, they kinda had this long time rivalry, since they both competed for the same things. I still remember my Mom talking about how much of a perfectionist Emmy Lou was & it definitely paid off! If I remember correctly, her family was quite strict on her growing and & she was basically primed from the time she was a kid to be a beauty queen, singer/musician, or perhaps an actress (I think her & my Mom did some plays together?) & she did it, she made it big at a fairly young age, plus growing up so close to Washington DC didn't hurt! Plus she's gorgeous, even with that silver hair, it just fits her so well! It's making me not want to color my hair anymore! Lol

You and I are in the same position sir. I finally get to see my girlfriend again on Saturday, after 15 months of lockdown (at least that's how long it's been where I live). My girlfriend and I have been together 10 years, and we have never been through anything like this before. We've had ups and downs, nothing that ever kept us apart for this long, but we made do with the situation at hand. I can't wait to be with her again, which makes me happy. This song is bittersweet for me, because I just found out that my ex-girlfriend passed away suddenly late last year.
