@@Pablud3S LOL Iâm 42, and Iâm eclectic so sadly if I like something I canât help it. I like his early stuff like Scary Monsters etc, I know itâs commercial dubstep but I like all ranges of dubstep. I love evil drops and I love techno too, spent many hours âdancingâ to rave music in my teens and 20s with the helps of certain tablets lol

Seriously though the last time Benga was on UKF Dubstep was in 2012 with the track "To Hell and Back" he finally returned after 12 years and with Skream!!!! OMG this is fucking amazing! One of the best Dubstep tracks this year for real! This made my Friday! This is why I will always be a UKF Dubstep fan!

Im really conflicted on this. On the one hand, Im of course happy to see new Benga and Skream. And sound design is *on point*. But if Im honest with myself, I found the composition to be uninteresting. Like I get its the legends and that they of all people should be allowed to stick to their og sound, but I honestly think that the dubstep community, same as the metal community and other certain communities Im in, is kinda stuck in the past a bit. You hear guys like conrank taking the classic sound and pushing it forward, ogs like Nero evolving. I just kinda was hoping this would be benga and skream but with a fresh spin, and at least to my ears, its justâŠnot. Sorry, I know Im gonna get a lot of hate for that. I do appreciate that they put out a new track at the end of the day.
All good man. The Skream & Benga 2.0 sound is more electro / breaky / funk / 4/4 and we will present that in time. We did about 8 remixes of Von dutch ranging from house, disco, techno, various 140 takes on it. Some of these might start appearing in sets over the summer depending on what / where we are playing. We thought for the official remix we picked to just go for the one that would make people take notice from our fanbase back in the day, and to hit new ears that don't have any clue who we are- in my own case, the newer fanbase I have only actually know me for doing house and techno. With Benny, as he's not been about in the streaming era then theres a full generation of listeners yet to discover him properly so the approach of going 'back 2 the future' was to kick the door right off the hinges!
WOW! I am blown away! Thank you first and foremost for taking the time to read my comment and respond so fully. I have to be honest and say that I continued to listen to the song throughout the rest of the day and found lots of little things that I liked that made the song actually really enjoyable despite my initial impression. I especially loved how you built on the drop over time. Truly its a fun song! I just think that when its ogs, its always an opportunity for the masters themselves to think outside the box and show us something we havent seen before. I knew of course about how much you have focused on other genres since then, so Id sort of had hopes going into it that I might hear some interesting new techno/house/dubstep balance people hadnt heard before. But hearing about your comeback plan, it makes a lot of sense why you went the route you did! đ
