i loved being hunted as a jedi on original CU..
actually had 2 jedi characters (its a long story on how), i believe they were called onimusha and blacki, played on EU, maybe Eclipse server, cant remember...
anyway, i used to spend most of my time socializing and dueling other people on Naboo (main city), near the space port.
got ambushed once by a two team of Bounty hunters.. they were prone, sniping me - actually the survived the initial fight and managed to escape (and had a funny run over the entire city - i believe we ended it in a draw).
the best fight i had was again on Naboo, but on a smaller city .. it was 1o1 and it was freaking amazing. the fight took around 45minutes.. and it was insane - i think we ended it on a draw again. (i remember hating the fact that you could - in theory- have endless amount of healing "potions" - a single slot inventory container that contains 20 healing "potions" X multiple times, multiple your inventory slots.. almost no CD between uses , just the inability to "open" the container while in combat..)
its a shame the game is gone but looking back, im not sure i would be able to play a game like that today .. it consumed a lot of my time - everything took time - it was a slow game and even though socializing was amazing it was almost empty of content (at some point, all i needed was some loot for those witch ladies on dathomir i believe, waiting for server resets to kill a specific boss spawn)
i actually tried one of the emulators a while ago and to be honest, it felt exactly the same, i was as clueless as i was when i started the original game (i remember the feeling) - but this time i couldnt get myself to continue playing
i hope everyone else is having a good time with this emulators.

Fun stuff. For me CU is great, but late stage NGE (Legends server) is where it's at. 1000x more content and players, also way more professionally run than other servers. Would love to play the old prof system of course, but just not worth the downsides.

Content could easily be remedied if devs made the effort to put the packed tre files into use. But most of these preCU devs often just want to emulate the game like it was, without many changes, which is silly, as it makes no sense how the balance was in the last patch before the CU hit... you can see it here how easy jedi could play vs 2 ranged classes because they barely hit him. The most damage came from damn dots and not the actual weapons. The whole loot system etc was garbonzo in preCU. I still loved the game back then, but man was it broken...

Keep in mind this was a while ago, when I was new to the game. I listed my errors in the video description. Much has changed since this video, including spec.

This looks so stupid for someone who never played this game. Why are you just running away all the time? And when you get close why don't you do anything?

Jedi had permadeath during pre-CU era.
If they were killed they lost all their xp and skills.
Je dis are the preys, not the hunters.

@@Martin-sx4bx Oh. But I thought jedis were supposed to be super OP? Why are bounty hunters seemingly as strong or close to it?

    • @NishmoTheGreat
      @NishmoTheGreat Před rokem +1

@@celzolsen8988 Jedi are super OP if you are built for the proper thing. The description of this video explains that he didn't have a PvP lightsaber on, meaning he was equipped to fight mobs, but not really players. That's why he relied more on other abilities since he wasn't prepared to go against other players at the time. That's why he's running away a lot, getting potshots in. He also didn't have the proper buffs active to give him the defense he needs. In this game, it doesn't matter what class you are, if you aren't properly buffed, you'll die to most things. The game relies on a player economy where medic and entertainer players give buffs to combat classes based on what it is they are doing.
As you may have noticed in the video, a single bounty hunter isn't much of a problem. When he managed to separate them, it was a very one-sided fight. Both of them together made the Jedi have to run away. Figure both of the Bounty Hunters likely had PvP gear equipped, so you had two prepared bounty hunters who specialize at range (and if you were going against a Jedi, you knew to be prepared) going up against an unprepared Jedi caught off guard. And the Jedi still managed to win.
All things considered, the only thing the bounty hunters did wrong was split up. If they had stayed together, it likely would have gone the other way. But bounties aren't split between multiple people going after the same target, so they likely hoped for the other one to die. That was their undoing.
