The Grammy Award-winning soul/R&B vocal group members are Pamela Hutchinson, Sheila Hutchinson-Witt, and Wanda Hutchinson-Vaughn. Produced by Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire, The Best Of My Love won the Grammy Award for Best Vocal Performance by a Duo, Group or Chorus and an American Music Award for Favorite Soul/R&B Single in 1978. The Platinum single from The Emotions album Rejoice reached #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts.
Smile from The Emotions 1978 album Sunbeam reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot Soul Songs chart. The Emotions third studio album Flowers rose to number 5 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #45 on the Billboard 200 in 1976. News update September 20, 2020: Pamela Hutchinson, a singer in the R&B group The Emotions, has died at the age of 61. The news of her passing was shared on the group's official Facebook page, alongside a black-and-white headshot of the star beaming.
"In loving memory, we are saddened to announce the passing of our sister, Pamela Rose Hutchinson, on Friday, September 18, 2020," the post reads. "Pam succumbed to health challenges that she'd been battling for several years."
"Now our beautiful sister will sing amongst the angels in heaven in perfect peace. During this time, the family kindly asks for fans and friends to respect our privacy," continued the statement. "We appreciate all kind words, photos, and videos you may want to post for our beloved Pamela and of course your loving prayers." - Hudba
RIP Pamela Hutchinson 🙏. We often wait until someone passes away to honor and thank them for bringing joy into our lives by way of a song. Wow each of my favorite Sisters Groups of the 1970s🌹 Each of them had Sisters whom has journeyed on from their Groups. The Emotions, The Jones Girls, Sister Sledge and the Pointer Sisters. Thank goodness I grew up as little girl, during the 1970s listening to meaning, loving, and respectful Music. My Parent's have journeyed on and I missed our family togetherness in the backyard. Listening and dancing to fabulous Music😔 I am not fond of the 21st Century, especially 2020😷🤦🏾♀️ RIP to my daughter, my Parent's and all those whom has journeyed on in 2020 and before 2020. I wished we had a Time Machine✨

@@renaissanceman165 Thanks! You need to watch the episode of the TV shoe "Unsung" on The Emotions and you will see that Jeanette was an original member who continuously left the group to have a baby. Any other third girl in the group was her "temporary" replacement.

These ladies had the voices of angels. Truly legends I want to say Rise In Power to Ms. Pamela Hutchinson not featured in this video who was just as vital to this group as the other sisters. ❤️

The greatest female group EVER and it's not even debatable so don't try! That's Wanda, Sheila and Jeanette here (Jeanette is one of Phillip Bailey's baby mommas). Pam was (baby sister who's not in this video) would fill in for Jeanette throughout the years (RIP Pam). And that's their brother on guitar!

Good music back in my day! They sang with such "emotion." Pamela passed away. These are the original members (Jeanette). Pamela took Jeanette's place until she came back.

Whew, I'm a dancer for 40 years consistently, as well as trained in other parts of the arts; but chose DANCE (now retired). BUT, I type that ONLY to say that BEST OF MY LOVE live as an opener, I couldn't even DANCE to it, because it's difficult. Difficult, because those VOCALS MAKE THE EAR WANT TO LISTEN, & THAT BAND MAKES THE EARS WANT TO LISTEN. It's VERY EASY to DANCE in a club, while a DJ plays a record/track, but LIVE, IF ALL PARTS OF THE ARTS IS LOVED (musicianship, dance, voice, lyricism, & performance), WHEW....IT'S HARD TO DANCE to this show. They're amazing vocally, the band is on point, and, and, and,....just stare, and applaud crazy at the end.

Thank you for posting full songs from this show. Someone posted a short clip of “Smile” a few years back that had me salivating. This has my three favorite Emotions’ song (“Flowers” being #1), but it’s also rare footage of Jeanette with them at their peak. When I saw the “Smile” clip years ago, I was like “ Who is that tall, gorgeous, leggy sista THERE?!?” Then I remembered there were actually four sisters.
These 3 Gloriously talented ladies harmonies are soaringly soulful, fiercely funky, purringly passionate, sexy, seductive, Sisterhood Personified.

I usually like classic rock. This is musical dynamite! Love it. It has all the power of hard rock, just in a different way. It's dripping golden soul.
