    what is ATX?
    Advanced Technology Extended power supply
    A power supply unit (PSU) converts mains AC to low-voltage regulated DC power for the internal components of a computer. Modern personal computers universally use switched-mode power supplies. Some power supplies have a manual switch for selecting input voltage, while others automatically adapt to the mains voltage.

    I made an output only from 12V because I needed only that output. Nice video anyway!

      These are very cheap and you can even get these sometimes free from the street hahah.....

    Hello how do you test amp. You wrote also on 24v 1amp and 2amp max - on which condition 2amp?

      24v 1 amp is for a long time, but 2amp can be taken for a short time

    I need 9v with a BUNCH of amps.. What would happen if I combine the +3v and +5v into one?

      I recommend using a buck converter on 12V line you can get 9V 20A

    The label on the PSU says that 12V- is 0.8A and the 12V+ is 12A. so would the current of 24-22V be at around 9.6A. because 12A (12V+) x 0.8A (12V-) = 9.6A. If the label is true,can you please try to measure the current of the PSU and see what reading you get? To see if the label is right or not.

    • @Electronic_For_You
      @Electronic_For_You  Před rokem

      -12V is only 0.8A
      And its rectifier is only 3Amps
      So you can get maximum
      24V = 2Amps more not recommend

    • @zloxi3797
      @zloxi3797 Před rokem

      @@Electronic_For_You Why is 2A more not recommended? Doesnt the PSU itself have a Fan that cools the components and prevents them from overheating and also it guides the hot air out of the PSU? If that is true then would it still be possible to use more than 2A from the 24V rail?

    • @Electronic_For_You
      @Electronic_For_You  Před rokem +1

      No
      Because the component in -12 rail is rated only 3Amps so it will get damaged if you take more then 2Amps .. !

      @@Electronic_For_You If the component is rated only 3A. Could I somehow replace it to work at 5A or 9A? What component is it?

  • @rhenvipproviderph5455

    To get 24v you need to use the blue and yellow for (+) and (-)? Disregarding the ground wire which is the black wires? Is this correct?

      All outputs(voltage) are taken with respect to common ground of SMPS transformer(secondary winding). If this is ignored then the total output trips as soon as the load is connected.
