      University or collages are places where we learn how to learn and teach our selves, as funny as it sounds professors are not there to teach the topic but to tell its name.

    Sir, I have a question: if the pulley B on the second example is stationary, how come the S_B varies on both sides of it? Wouldn't the length be the same regardless of the motion of the rope?
    Edit: Thank you for that physical example with the ball. That cleared it up for me, the pulley is not stationary and it moves with the rope.

      someone answer this lol

    • @parkerolszak1020
      @parkerolszak1020 Před 5 lety +2

      It's because the length of the second rope L2 includes the rope from the right wall to the pulley labeled C and also the length of the rope that goes from pulley c to the 3m/s label (the rope with the arrowhead). (b-Sc) is the length of the first part of the rope mentioned (from wall to pulley c) and (Sa-Sc) is the length from the arrowhead to the pulley. The whole length of b goes to the wall and the length of the arrowhead to pulley c is not at the wall at this instant. Realistically there could be another datum at the right wall and you just measure the first part of the equation from that datum.

  • @theguywiththeicebreakers4345

    This is so useful, too bad my professor actively refuses to label rope lengths and draws diagrams very poorly.
