There’s police footage of Paisley Park after his death and his living areas seem vacant and hollow, almost sad and lonely in comparison to this villa. This is how I imagined he lived.

This is the villa Mayte picked out and bought for them and she lived in it most of the time when their marriage was crumbling and he came occasionally. She got it in the divorce settlement and it took her FOREVER to get a buyer for it. I just read her book about their life together it's a good read!
It does look like she had lot input into this,he wanted her be happy, I'm sure he let her pick out lot stuff probably so it would feel like her home too, um sure after the divorce she didn't want live there.it would be painful her being there alone when it was suppose be thier home..n.a.JJ.

Thank you Prince for the many memories. From back to Phelps park in in mpls in 78 from all the multiple times I have seen you play, up until seeing you at paisley in august 2015. I loved working security at paisley park for the many years from the 90's during them times, you were always friendly. I will miss seeing your, smile, your being polite to our crew your talent and will miss being able to go out to paisley park to see you. Due to being blessed to being able to brush shoulders with you here in MN> I really feel part of something has been very special and will be for many years to come with your 2000 plus songs that has not been released yet. I look forward to hearing that music also. Most of all thank you for putting Minnesota on the map and creating a Minneapolis sound introducing many people from here to the world. I was working security on the floor at a dixie chics concert, and Prince came in with his wife to watch the concert and Prince and his wife sat down by the sound board and at that time I was 20 feet away from him. So I went up to his body guard and asked him to ask prince for a autograph for my daugher. He went over to prince and asked him and he came back and said prince said no. And I was truthfully mad, not for me but my daughter and thought it's a kid. And then after that his body guard comes up to me and asks me if I would come stand next to Prince while he goes and gets some water and I said heck yes and went over to stand next to him. and being me I had to ask Prince why he didn't give autographs all while I was doing this people noticed him sitting there and was coming up asking for autographs and I had to tell them no. And princes answer to my questions was the reason he didn't is because he said he is not an idol and I said that's what I wanted to hear and I understood. We had more small talk I did say to him I thought he was the best guitar player in the world and he shook his head no and said there are many greats. and then his body guard came back with the water gave me one actually and then prince whispered something to his body guard and then his body guard got my phone number, and then a few months later I get this call was from paisley park and they invited my daughter to paisley and some other kids two. they went in a bus which I was so happy for my daughter she was so excited. Every year prince would have kids come to paisley and he would give them kids that couldn't afford one an instrument of there choice and lessons at his school he had across the street of paisley. My daughter and the other kids got to listen to Prince play met him, didn't get an auto graph :) To this day my daughter still has that guitar and some awesome memories of that day Thanks to Prince.

Such a beautiful home he built for Mayte. He really loved her. He was such a generous Man and treated all the love's of his life very well, I must say. Not sure if it is this home or another home in Spain that Prince gave to her after their divorce. Really sad that their marriage ended and I can't imagine how difficult it was after losing their Son, then a miscarriage tore them both apart. I wish they stayed together and tried again. Just very sad. I pray that God give her the strength to get through this. Prince is in Heaven now with his Son.

ToonieMama I also found out that although the marriage was annulled in 1998, they were still together and "spiritually married. " She basically gave up her rights for any support with the annulment. She even made the comment that he didn't help her or give her anything financially.
Not going to lie wasn't a huge fan. Sure I dug a few of his tunes. Not sure if I would have gone to one of his shows. I will say though he kept it real. He didn't sell out. He stayed true to himself and made HIS music. He also doesn't get the credit he deserves for his musicianship. He always seemed like a cool dude in his interviews. Somebody real, somebody you could just hang with. I never heard a bad word spoken about him. R.I.P. Prince thanks for the memories.

actually to be honest the true story of when Prince was in the process of divorcing Mayte, he purchased this house for her to essentially banish her from his kingdom. this was all included in the 2003 book called Possessed: The Rise And Fall Of Prince.

In several articles it says this house was bought as a gift to Mayte when they got married. This was hers to decorate the way she wanted. Yes, it has pink colors but the curtains in the master bedroom is purple with pink and the bedspread with with purple flowers so it has a touch of Prince's color. The place has purple flowers outside and some touches on the inside. His love symbol with M on them too for Mayte. Which was nice of him to do as he does have his other place at Paisley Park which he decorated purple inside. Rest in peace.. Prince you are so loved! He is reunited with his children!

It's sad ... obviously meant for Prince and Mayte; I never saw him so much in love, as he was with her. When they lost their baby after a week ... it wouldn't be the first time such a thing parted a couple. But all of the incredible attention to details in this villa speaks volumes. If you ever saw any of their interviews, they were almost attached at the hip! I pray she's been OK during these horrible weeks since he departed.
Poor thing isn't handling it well. She never got over that love. She's been hit hard with this loss. Got a tattoo for him last week & has been posting old photos week after week on her official Instagram since his passing. It's heartbreaking to watch :/
As much of an admirer I am of his genius artistry; I find him as a man who claimed to be "so in love" with Mayte tragically ironic; his actions of leaving nothing to her speaks volumes - IMO.
First of all, you can be thankful you never lost a baby with someone. Secondly he left *nothing* to *anyone* ... your comment was rather truly crass and shows no thought went into it. Prince's last years were filled with drastic change, obviously begun with a huge difference in being open with his spiritual feelings. Had he written out a will, he may have left something to her; one cannot truly become a spiritual being without knowing the incredible merits of forgiveness. I'm not saying Mayte did anything that *called* *for* being forgiven;; again, men can see such tragedies differently and even use various escapes to get out of thinking of them entirely. Even in his 30's, years after I met him, he could be extremely immature and cold with women. The way he treated Sheena Easton was a big example of this ... he fairly well battered her emotionally by playing his childish 'I am psychic/if we're truly meant to be together, you should be able to read my mind and tell what I want/where I want to go/ what i am thinking..' Rather than just break up with her, it was a cruel way to behave. But in these more recent years he was so different; there's no way to tell.

Men always have tabs on the women who always have or had kids by them. Plus, somebody asked if he was still in love with her.
