Cycles4D | Building metal flake and translucent materials

  • In this quick video I show you a couple of methods for making materials with areas of translucency, as well as showing you how to add metal flakes. This can be used for so many materials but obvious choices are car paint. I used larger flakes for my bowling ball but experiment with your masking node to see what you can come up with.

    How is Cycles4d compared to Maxwell in your opinion?

      Maher Al-Demerdash They are different beasts. Maxwell is far easier to use and setup. Treat it just like a camera and you're good to go.
      Cycles is perfect for particle work and the node based material editor is a joy. I use both depending on the job.
