#MiamiVice
I used to scream at the TV when Tubbs knowingly rolled into all these running gunfights with a 2” revolver.
Weird how tubbs rarely used his pistol grip pump
Back in the 80s revolvers were still standard issue for most police departments. It was mostly the military vets who gravitated to using semi-autos at first. By the early 1990s, most US law enforcement agencies had transitioned from revolvers to semi-autos. Influencing factors leading to law enforcement’s adoption of the semi-auto include the 1986 FBI Miami shootout, the US military’s transition to the Beretta 9mm and increased violence by drug traffickers.
but he also carried that pistol grip pump so it evens itself out but yeah I know what you mean
In all tv shows drives me nuts he’ll even in real life I’ll see security where I work in 2022 using basket weave holster
Remember Tubbs was an NYPD detective. So a snubby would be standard issue for him, New York or not.
The ricochet sound effects are hilariously comical considering the tone of the scene.
Jan's background music here is magic.
Indeed! 😎
I've often said Season 3 is my favorite for Jan's music. He created some bitchin' new tunes, brought back some classics and remixed 'em, and when Season 4 came around, Jan's music was noticeably different. You could tell when the first episode of Season 4 aired that Jan's music was on its way out unfortunately. Yet in Season 4 also he brought back some of his other classics from the other seasons before leaving the job to John Petersen for 13 episodes, coming back for the final 2 of S4, and finally leaving the series completely, being replaced by Tim Truman.
Season 3 is severely under the radar when it comes to Jan Hammer's MV compositions.
It is said that his music used to be the 3rd character after Crockett and Tubbs.
@@noorsheikh8739 I’ve always agreed with that 😎
@@retro-dademusic6403 No doubt about it. Thanks for responding. :-)
I always loved Crockett's Smith & Wesson 645 - when I was a kid watching Miami Vice I promised myself when I got old enough I'd buy one - but then when I got old enough I found out they don't make them any more :(
Gunbroker brotha and be ready to open your wallet lol
Another Miami Vice spectacular episode, while the show was still hitting all cylinders.
yup.... the show fell apart with Sheena Easton
@@scott7521 Michael Mann left in season 3. Dick Wolf became the show-runner for the rest of the series.
@@scott7521 I liked the Sheena Easton episodes.
@@WithoutRemorse12 Dick Wolf one for Law & Order correct?
@@Silkmaster4200 yes
I used to have this part of the episode on cassette tape so I could listen to the score by Jan over and over 🙂
One of the best episodes,"better living through chemistry"....
It was an almost amazing show. The main problem it had was consistency. It often felt like the writers didn't read or see the previous episodes.
The last season is a bit more consistent...
Season 1 and thats it
This is the case after season 3
@@Heelsfan1982 It was the case from the start. Each episode could have easily been a standalone movie.
i like at the very end when crockett looks at clarence and the episode ends/freezes. just something about that i like
@NBUltra187~ let us know if you nail it down. Sweet action scene, for sure.
Clarence turned into a cop at the end, that was the twist. And he was honest / owned up to rico tubbs, as he was getting busted! Showed integrity. That is why don johnson gave him that look in the end. Very stylish!
Unbelievable how Miami Vice only lasted 5 short seasons, in complete contrast to the cheap, toxic, cancerous reality TV shows like SURVIVOR and BIG BROTHER that have infested television for the last 20 consecutive years. SMH
I Blame the real world for ruining television.
@@jmjfanss ~ "The real world"? Those shows mentioned above are phony. They are only what Hollywood perceives as "real"...
I burn my candle at both ends, it will not last the night.
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends, it makes a wond'rous light
All of the MV clips on this channel are great, but they sadly keep ending just 2 seconds before Jan Hammer's music completes each scene..

Switek & Larry bringing the back up heat as always!!!
Crockett wearing his signature loafers must have had a lot of sand in em when he went to take them off.
I still find it hard to believe anyone would just stand out in the open fully exposed and not get behind cover when lead is flying.
Tv mehn.
80s
I think the blind guy with the dark glasses was just duck hunting . Or he has never shot a long gun is his life!
Sonny and Rico always look sharp. This episode’s best dressed is Rico, very nice indeed. 😘
Ho la la grandiose vraiment j'adore c du Miami vice tout cracher... Merci pour ce moment.. 👏👏😎😎👍👍
This is easily one of the worst shootouts in the shows history. That said, the rest of the episode was fairly solid. But man...somebody should’ve put Sam Peckinpah on this one.
No doubt, great music
Yes it is! 😎
1:48 just falls over lol
Don't mess with vice, pal 🔫
02:05 shot had that guy seeing stars….
Good title for this video. Could also be "Crockett and Tubbs take down everyone while Jan Hammer plays awesome music"
MIAMI VICE ...
¡FANTASTICA ENTREGA DE MIAMI VICE...

¡BENDICIONES PARA LOS QUE HICIERON POSIBLE ESTE CANAL...
Despite having integral roles, many cast members' names did not appear in the opening or end credits.
These older shows were basically contemporary westerns compared to today's. The Miami Vice squad wouldn't make it past two episodes of a modern cop show based on today's departmental regulations. The best ones around now are Chicago PD and the new Law and Order spin-off Organized Crime.
And both are boring as hell.
@@pens8766 Chicago PD is pretty special in its own way, but it's still no Miami Vice. Nothing ever will be. They wanna mirror real life way too much, whereas old shows just focused on fun and relatable drama.
@@claudewinchester7068 yeah you definitely right about Chicago PD it's definitely not a Miami Vice but chicago.pd can definitely hold its own and it's one of the first cop shows that successful that is based in the Midwest Chicago has a lot of problems over the past 10 years with the gangs and shootings all over the city kids getting killed and the carjackings police corruption freeway shooting and this is all going on right now as we speak
Miami in the 80s was the Wild West!
love this show
Great quality!
The .40 Bren cost DON JOHNSON something like $2500 in (1980!!!) that he had customized for APSC, that was HIS piece! and from what I understand he spent HOURS on range on weekends....
It was a 10mm. Bren 10.
.40 cal was even invented until 1990
I want to say the “hero gun” was hobbled together from some leftover parts after D&D closed up.
Michael Mann wanted it to be all stainless to stand out during filming.
I recall a story about how Don Johnson lost a magazine standing on a dock and the magazines were so hard to get (D&D was shipping the pistol *without* magazines at one point) that it was cheaper for them to hire a diver to recover the magazine than to source a new one.
No wonder he never missed.
I think if season 3 kept some stuff from the first two seasons while trying to reinvent itself, it would have been far better for the series. I remember for some reason, season 3 episodes seemed to drag and get boring when compared to the bright innovations in the first two seasons. The darker clothes are fine, but somehow the episodes seemed weird for weirdness' sake and trying to be different from seasons 1 and 2.
Miami vice expetacular seriado oss
De fato
2:05 that old school Doom death sound.
Now mind you, when Sonny was taking up for Robbie Khan in the episode "Buddies", Tubbs was having a hissy fit. But now it's supposed to be cool when he takes up for Batisse.
Was wondering what foundation that was in the background after the collapse of the condos
Can some explain the final PMT's few lines? I remember this very well but still haven't much clue...
Never before & perhaps never again !!! MV !!! ✊✊!!! DJ !!! RT !!!
All these guys shot and killed, with not one drop of blood shown.
Probably because of budget. All the people they shot on this show, half the budget would’ve gone on fake blood
Twelve years back pay?? He would have been loaded.
Greath music of jan hammer.. . Woow
I think Omari hardwick could play Ricardo tubbs in a new version of Miami vice! And Chris Evan could do a good sonny Crockett
Cam Gigandet would make a great Crockett.
Cameron Douglas (Michael's son) would make a better Crockett. And Freddie Prinze Jr. as Castillo.
Imo, Omari Hardwick & Matthew McConaughey would have been perfect choices for the 2006 Miami Vice movie. Too bad the powers that be didn't see it.
@@gaylebellaire5830 i think omari hardwick was too yong to play in this kind of movie in 2006 :-D . The choice on j.foxx was a good one . so, according to you, what was wrong with this 2006 Michael Mann movie? Was it the story? Or the quality of actions scenes ?
@@yannickkatayisha524 Jamie Foxx & Colin Farrell are excellent actors, but I didn't see any chemistry between them. I didn't care for the storyline. A person suggested that people watch the movie and not compare it to the show. I might try that one day. Omari would have been in his early 30's in 2006.
