Not sure, but a video portfolio definitely shows more of your personality and who you are than a regular portfolio would. And if they see you as a person, its a lot harder to reject a person than it is to reject a paper so i hope this helps! Feel free to correct me if i got any of this wrong
My guess is that having top grades despite spending time on many hobbies shows that you could do well in higher education (less hobbies, more work, but still the same ability to pick up things quickly)
It’s what differentiates you from everyone else, every student applying to Harvard have perfect grades and test scores but those don’t necessarily translate to real life skills or passions they want to see that you have a drive and passion for something specific
