I managed to survive the first attack on a random playthrough in custom game, couldn't care less about trying it out since I wasn't ready but I'm pretty sure it was because of the accessory that makes any attack that ends in a 4 deal 4 damage only.
The only logical reason why he kidnap Natalie if he is beaten is he drank coffee before his death, also giving coffee to his tank and reviving it, and quickly kidnapped Natalie as they were cheering for their victory and weren't noticing his revival.
I don't think that works. This encounter always scales to the party's level, so...the only legitimate way to survive the first hit MIGHT be with the Pixel Glasses (only legitimately available by this point if you luck out with Random Equipment). *If* the wearer can even live to take a turn...
@@steam-powereddolphin5449 Well no not the pixel glasses, only the tetris piece, because you die at the start of your next turn if you have 0hp left due to the pixel glasses.

It just means you cheated lol. At that point no single party member has high enough evade to dodge the Neon Valkyrie's ramming attack since it's acc is multiplied by 100
@@nicholasfly5914 it's literally impossible to dodge it in the first encounter because of the accuracy formula, outside of extremely high newgame+ (by way of steroids). the modifier neon valkyrie gets in the first battle is 100x to it's offensive stats, including accuracy- an attack is guaranteed to land if it's accuracy exceeds your evade, which valkyrie's ram does due to that modifier- in other words, you're lying. there IS an extremely rare bug in which the multiplier is applied incorrectly, and THAT can lead to it failing to kill the entire party, but you specifically mentioned dodging it, which isn't possible.
My favourite boss theme has always been the funny tank. Best character in the game for sure. Oh, lance? He can piss off. I want more Neon Valkyrie screentime.

Kind of a letdown that there wasn't some kind of Easter egg or something. Even Chrono Cross plays a different cutscene if you lose the "supposed to lose" fight about 1/3 of the way through the game before proceeding as normal.

I actually won it without any cheats or anything lmao i just spammed auto revive and my teammates kept getting full limit break so i just cycle nats limit break + nolegs 9 lives and it was cake walk lol i was surprised that u weren't supposed to beat it lmao 😂

@@limelover1316 there's an extremely rare bug where the modifier doesn't apply correctly when the battle starts, so you're able to take one turn before it's correctly activated. if you use genesis on that first turn, you'll get it back every turn because of the huge damage, and thus you'll have literally no problem destroying valkyrie with cleaver/genesis/creator spam
my head canon for this scene is that they got knocked out cold and it was just a part of Matt's dream that they defeated Lance.
