One can use quantile regression to output the prediction interval based on the regression quantile selection

Can also be less specific about what to predict because the knowledge doesn't need to be precise. You can try predicting the number of delays in a certain day. Most likely the company and even the crew on the ground just needs a ball park to know what to expect.
