#scagwindstorm #scag traction has always been an issue with Scag equipment in my experience. This blower is no different. Visit my Channel for 100's of other videos: / @countrysidestrong
Carlisle All Trails on that Windstorm will fix your traction issues. I’m thinking a Jrco leaf plow would be helpful on that property that you have to take it clear back to the woods ? My best bang for the buck has been my Jrco leaf plow.
Hi Randy! It is Brad again! I wanted to ask if I could have your permission use some snippets of this video (with credit on screen and in the description) in a Windstorm review video. I would also be happy to let you check it out before airing to make sure nothing was taken out of context if you were worried about that.
Leaf plow has been my best friend. I only have a handful of properties that I can blow into their woods. We shove the leaves to the curb and vac them up.
Has that allowed you to take on new leaf cleanup jobs, or just doing your weeklies? I know you took on a bunch more yards this year, just didn't know if you can get more cleanup$ on the side
I can see just by looking at that machine that the reason for it spinning the drive tires so easy is most of the weight of that machine looks to be towards the front which is going to make the ass end lighter and of course the tires are going to spin easily.
You would think but no. The front is insanely light, too light. It pops up like nothing. I've talked with Scags engineer that designed it at GIE hoping to get a weight kit
Damn leaves were a wet pain today. On top of that, I was wrapping up my subcontract mows for the season so I dropped the height 😂 the Exmark was NOT happy with me. I'm ordering g6's for her ( even though they probably won't get here in time to do anything this year ) NOW. And my next mower is gonna have a 38 horse 🐎
I saw this video. I am a landscaper myself. With the soft areas why not take a Stihl BR 800c to that area and blow the leaves off the grass instead of using the blower?
Not a fan of the 800, don't own one. I have an 8010 way more CFM. But I get what you're saying and that's what we have been doing but it takes more time than it should and what's the point of the Windstorm if it's not effective in all areas it can fit. If I'm spending 14k on a piece of equipment it better perform as it's supposed to.
I would imagine that big blower is a lot of weight on the front of it and. You might have to add weight to the back to ballance it out to get traction but it looks like it works great
You need the hurricane mulch system on at least one of your machines. Seriously, they are worth it! I'd put it on the V-Ride 1 and still have the bagger for the V-Ride II.
@@CountrysideStrong Oh gotcha! I wonder why that is? It's always interesting to me how different things can be in this industry just because of geography.
On my Windstorm I lowered the pressure down to about 8 psi on the drive tires. It helped a little but it still doesn’t like going backwards uphill. I’m also having issues with the joysticks for the nozzle rotation getting stuck and had to replace the nozzle drive motor already at 100 hrs. They need to redesign the swivel on the nozzle and improve the controls and it will be a much better machine.
In my area grass stopes growing in October and clients have us wait till.about now to come do a clean up. Absolutely everyone want every leaf gone I might have 1 property I can blow in the woods out of 70 clean ups I do. I have a 7 yard box with billy goat and fill it 2 to 3 times a day Thankfully the town has a free dump for debry the month of November but i need to hire a guy just to go dump ever 2 hrs
Ya customers used to try that here too. I don't let them do it. It's my way or there find another company. Very rare that happens anymore and they usually come right back after they experience the hacks in my area
@@CountrysideStrong so the tweels have better grip. What about hills. I know they are a lot of money but I’ve had employees get flat tires or slow leaks and still cut lawns. To the point you can really notice that one side is way lower.
Good video...i still dont know why people prefer to get rid of the leaves...use a mulching kid and double cut them bad boys..i workwd at brickman for 6 years did leaf removal every year...never picked up 1 leaf...and its way more better for the grass
It's only good for the grass if the amount you mulch up is able to break down. If there's too many and it turns into paste, it'll infect the grass with diseases or kill it right off. Either way, it comes down to what the customer wants🤷
$13.400. Is not bad , Saw a Ferris 3000 priced at $14,500 here in Connecticut,,, I am Retired from what was My regular job and gone back into mowing and clean ups , I use Hustler mowers , Using leaf plow and a bagger unit on a Zero turn , and back pack blowers , and a little wonder 13hp push blower when needed , We get cleanups done quickly with a two guy one Girl crew , the Scag windstorm is on my list over the Ferris from many reviews I have seen from guys like Yourself that use them , I have used the Ferris on a trial from a guy I know that has one .
Surprised you dident bag them up seems like less time I would of spread.it out and bagged it. I was always taught movi g leaves like this is counter productive. Or blow to ware i could suck it up with Ole Billy
@@CountrysideStrong I’m gonna take my 24x12-12 off the vr2 and put them in the windstorm. Idk if the bagger on the vr2 will make it to heavy for the tweels.
Love your videos. Really missed not seeing them recently
I know buddy, we appreciate the support
Hey man get that go pro out lol. Miss seeing you guys.
Thanks for the footage! I get almost all my best ideas watching your videos!
Thank you that's great to hear
Back in my day we used rakes and tarps to move leaves..... That's how it was in the 1800's
And you are old enough for that so I believe it
@@CountrysideStrong sir, I must correct you…. I am “Wise” enough…. Not “Old” enough
@@KenMrKLC 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 wise.... You, ok lol
That Windstorm looks like a timesaver! Awesome work, you guys👏🏻
It really is in a huge way
Way to go! Have a good New Year.
When I demoed the windstorm, it seemed really front heavy and I had a hard time keeping traction.
It's insanely light in the front that's the problem
💚💚💚 Great vlog Randy! 💚💚💚
Thanks Johnny, hope you're well my friend
Were you using “gator” style blades, x-blades or high lift short tail blades for mulching those leaves?
Thanks for the video!
Just gators, that's it
Watching Conner reminds me of I learned about running a mower. Keep up the hard work! Would definitely be interested in helping if I was closer.
Lol thanks appreciate it

Ya I've used them. Pretty nice
Has that allowed you to take on new leaf cleanup jobs, or just doing your weeklies? I know you took on a bunch more yards this year, just didn't know if you can get more cleanup$ on the side
Yup it sure did. Doing allot more and quicker
I think the reason why the tires such is because there is more weight on the front where as the Ferris blower part is in the middle and not front
The front is so insanely light, it needs a weight kit up there
@@CountrysideStrong really I would think opposite. Like you said it probably needs new tires then
I can see just by looking at that machine that the reason for it spinning the drive tires so easy is most of the weight of that machine looks to be towards the front which is going to make the ass end lighter and of course the tires are going to spin easily.

Nice technique bro! Currently on vaca in your wonderful state 1st time here upstate Lake Ontario area it’s doable locals are friendly!
Heck ya buddy. Beautiful country
I can hear you so good when the machine is running
Perfect that was the plan
Do you guys ever use back pack blowers at the same time?
Yup everyday
How much for that clean up??

I wonder if you put some fuild in those tires it might help it! Just a idea!
Idk, I'm just gonna change em
that windstorm looks like its pretty nice. I should have demoed one before i got my Ferris. Dont think theres a scag dealer any where near me thought
Not sure if I would pick the scag again over the Ferris but if I got the Ferris it would be the FB3000 I demoed before
that thing looks crazy
It's amazing

How much do you get for the property
They all vary in range
I would imagine that big blower is a lot of weight on the front of it and. You might have to add weight to the back to ballance it out to get traction but it looks like it works great
It's just the opposite actually. It's crazy
It is actually very easy to wheelie it and is hard to keep the front wheels on the ground when goin up hill. It takes some getting use to for sure.
Weird. I was thinking it was front end heavy also and that’s why it is spinning.
That windstorm gets it done
It sure does. Helps out allot

I've thought about trying that. Mulching has never been a thing in my area. Where are you located
@@CountrysideStrong southern IN. But even if you mulched first and bagged second it would save a lot of space. It annihilates leaves!
Ya I understand that and that's what we do mostly but an actual mulch deck or mulch deck setup usually doesn't work well here

Haven't run into that yet but we only have about 20 hrs on it so far
why not mulch those leaves in first lawn? would have been much quicker then trying to move that little bit across that acre
All depends on the situation and what the customer wants
Did I hear you say tweels? I thought you hated those.
You did, you'll see why soon

Not really on the windstorm, the mowers yes

@@jaybrown29 they’re great on hills, no issues. I’ve been running them a while now and I’d buy another set
@@CountrysideStrong I’m looking at a vride today. How is the cut quality ? Especially in wet grass ?
I use wright zk now which is a perfect mower but it’s way more money than a vride this year. 21000 cdn vs 15300 cdn. 37hp Briggs

I bet the tires suck more because of the weight distribution on that machine...same reasin my zk is the sickest machine eber

I'd like one but not at 14k
Yea it’s hard to justify, gotta have the accounts to pay for it for sure
Worse part is that they are super expensive for a single use machine.
Yes they are but if you have enough accounts in the right accounts they can pay for themselves quick
